Saw your post in the letters thread. I can't say I'm overly surprised that the two of you are still drifting apart after what you told me the last time (doesn't seem like anything has changed since then) though I wish, for your sake, that things had improved. What I do know is that taking a break for a while in order to allow yourself to move forward at this point doesn't make you "the bitch," nor does ending the relationship if that is what it comes to (and it very well might, as you know all too well). You can't make a relationship work on your own and you shouldn't have to.

The advice Poet gave below is actually really great advice. A pros and cons list during some time off may sound cold, but it can often be a good way to gain some much needed perspective and figure out where you want to go and what you want to do with you life.

Well... I'd say the safest thing to do would be to move on, but of course it's never that easy. My biggest concern is that it's hurting you by being with him. I would recommend not really breaking up so much as just taking a break for say a week or maybe even a month.

Perhaps what you should do is take a piece of paper and write all of the good, the bad, and the ugly about him. Then after you pour your heart onto the piece of paper, start rating each thing from 1-10 (10 being big and 1 being small) of how much they affect you. Then after that take the good, and subtract the bad. I think that would give you a good view of how things are without allowing emotions to completely control the view. So if say the number is positive, the good outweighs the bad by X, and if it's negative, the bad outweighs the good. (sorry for the ramble)

I really dislike when men start to strictly focus on being physical with a person. I know my exwife got like that and didn't care about my emotional needs at all. I really hope you can find the path that helps you be happy, you deserve to be happy after all.

Well perhaps a break would help? I know my exwife was very selfish in the relationship, and a year being married to that is not something I would wish on anyone.
