He well... The way I imagine it was he convinces Carovo to "show me the Surface." And well... Yeah XD It works, and he has a brilliant time, but then nightmares get in the way... XD

Oh, he always wastes money on taking care of himself because he is proud that he is no longer a homeless bum.

Well... His parents were murdered at a young age. If you haven't noticed, he is an alcoholic. He was once a street urchin, but found he was very good at getting Secrets and other such valuable detective work. So he did that and got himself a home and some good clothes to wear.
All he really wants in life is to visit the Surface, and find out who murdered his parents. He suspects Rubbery Men, and that is why he is terrified of them, though those fears may also be from another source.
He finds comfort in men and women, anyone that can ease his nightmares for the night, though he has a certain taste in men and doesn't like being pursued like a woman.
And that is part of who Maximillion is.
