Unsettling? I've been called cute often enough that making the leap to adorable isn't such a big one.

Because, I've never thought of myself as that, so it's strange hearing others say that they think I am. It surprised me to no end when my boyfriend first said he thought that I'm clever.

There's no need to read about it too much ... it's very dark and also pretty self-explanatory. A dude gets a painting of himself that takes on all the things that happen to him so he always looks young and perfect, and he pretty much loses his soul in the process.
