Haha, he wouldn't take it easily that he gets saved, BUT it would help out later on... I was thinking, perhaps he actually manages to catch her, put that collar on, but his bracelet is all out of energy, so they have to spend some time before he can take her back and he either takes pity on her or maybe she says something that makes him change his mind/get rebellious on his bosses.
Or, perhaps, he brings her back, and they (Zofies) do something to piss him off, he rescues her and they leave. XD

And, heh, yeah, I understand that so well! I used to write it in notepad then and save often, in case it randomly shut down. Sometimes I forgot to save, though, or thought, it's gonna be fine... But of course it didn't go good. ):
