Ok, your prince of darkness has parents and considering someone is playing the Queen already you can't really have him without them, I didn't write the story that way.
Each kingdom has a queen and a king. Someone took the queen spot, you have a sister too. It doesn't make sense for someone of royalty to be without parents especially in a time of peace
