Hmm... Well, regarding vegetables, you might like to go with small things. Carrots, radishes, cabbages, peppers, tomatoes... Peppers and tomatoes need lots of light though, so you'd like to keep them near windows with as much sun as possible~
And as for fruits, you can find little peach trees, fig trees, apricots, and grapes if you give the vines something to climb up. You'll need a pot with really good drainage, though, so you don't accidentally overwater them. If you want to avoid that, you can fill the bottom of the pot with a few inches of rocks so the water can collect there rather than bog down the soil. Ah, and lemons and limes grow well in pots too, but they should all have looooots of sun.
