I thought about that, but I figured it'd be too... abrupt, and not necessarily cement their relationship... But then I thought about his leaving the young man to go find food, and wondered if that was too... early.
Nonono, it's got to be short, quick, open-ended for readers to speculate on how they met, how they became homeless, and so on, like the rest of the posts in that thread.
Hm... Ah, well, the main characters are a sickly young man and an older one, both homeless. The older one is doing everything he can to keep the younger one as healthy as possible, but he's becoming weaker and the winter months are nearing. One day after stealing some food from an open market, the older man is caught by the police on his way back to his friend and is taken to jail for not only this one, but for other petty crimes as well, and the younger one, feeling abandoned and desolate, decides to use what energy he has to lie across the nearby train tracks.
