Well, dragons have their own language, but can communicate in English/other native languages, mostly by writing/drawing on the ground or something.

I'd imagine the world would be set in old timey england, mostly. Victorian/steampunkish. There is a society which is dedicated to training people they see fit to become dragonologists. I think my guy works for them, raising chicks and helping with sick and injured dragons. But he wants to go out on the feild and explore, find wild dragons and study them.

Dragons are often considered as smart as humans, though some breeds are smarter or dumber.

The traits you need are basically, the ability to do no harm basically.

Well, we should plan this out. I need to think of a character and some story elements. Because originally, he was looking after dragons and someone was there to learn from him. And they would go looking for different breeds to study and whatnot...
