I do too... I figure they might have found a home outside a small town, somewhere that not a lot of people live. Maybe Gabriel dyes his hair lighter and Byron's darker, to hide who they are in case knowledge of what happened might reach there. In prison I'm sure Byron would have been separated from Gabriel, and Gabriel, no doubt, would have either been killed in a 'wrong place/wrong time' scenario or some... less savory things...

So I guess it's the day before Byron feels he's about to be found and taken away and Gabriel finally convinces him that he won't be taken alive, and Gabe won't be able to live without him and the best way to do it is to take care of themselves so they can at least die together. So I suppose Byron had some poison (it's not specified in the dream) and mixes it up in strong coffee to mask the bitter taste, and they both drink it at the kitchen table. There's a clock nearby that counts an hour, and they die there just as the police arrive and bust down the door.
