They were messages sent by the system through an NPC called Aimee, which notified me that I had pending trades. Don't punch your monitor. I think that the messages are very good to have, although they took their sweet time incorporating a system like that into game.
By the way, you'll have to forgive my ultimate derpage of yesterday's message right below this one. When you said two messages, I didn't take into account that you were just talking about mine. I thought you meant that you had gotten actual site notifications. :lol:

Wow really? Ever since they stopped notifying me, nothing has changed for me. It is possible that it stopped because I disabled notification pop-ups, but I'm not so sure if that's the case.

Hey no problem! I had forgotten to tell you that the trade function don't notify us of incoming trades, but I'm sure it wasn't hard for you to figure out since I had just told you I was sending trades to you. :P
