Well, if anything, then you can remind him you had such an agreement and keep it up on your end.

Well, maybe you (and him) really needed this, to realize how important it's to keep him for you and that could sometimes help you keep your cool and be a bit more co-operative/thoughtful, especially if he won't go ka-boom as easily always? It can be hard for two easily rawr people.
Talking right away if you're (in general, not just you) the type who doesn't get over it with a bit of time.
