Ugh. Impatience is very unbecoming. If I were in the position I'd just tell him he'll get it when I find it and not a moment sooner---I'm not a damn magician able to conjure up whatever I can't find in a moment's notice! Then metaphorically storm off. Bah, but if it's a last resort type of thing I'd just buy a new one and secretly put it in the old case. I've done that with VHS movies before.
