I'll tell ya how I control my tractor on ice sheets...I don't drive on ice sheets. And the guys that do end up in wrecks. The ice sheets I saw was coming into The Dalles from the east. I saw five tractor trailers alongside the right lane and shoulder looking like they just simply stopped there or were going to throw some iron. I simply stayed to the left and slowed way down. That's when I noticed the ice sheets in the freeway along the right shoulder.

I was prevented from proceeding to Hood River by ODOT. That's where the ice storm really hit and caused sheets of ice to form on the freeway there. I ended up going back to fuel at the Pilot in Biggs Junction and then headed back to The Dalles where I took 197 south then 212 to 26 (if my memory is correct) then on to 205 then I-5. I musta drove uphill for 30 miles. But the roads were clear and I didn't hit traffic until I neared Mount Hood.

You're welcome. Glad you like the stuff. I escaped chaining up today on I-84 at The Dalles. An ice storm around the Hood River area caused sheets of ice to form on the road and bringing down some power lines.

I've got my own little danger corridor on Oregon 97. It seems the entire northern portion of the country is being hit by snowstorms. Worst I saw today was a tractor trailer that had seemingly turned left onto a side road he shouldn't have turned on and got stuck. Maybe he lost control. The thing is he had chains on the tractor so I don't know how he would have slid off the main highway.

Had my own little mishap today. I was turning left into the Pilot in Klamath Falls and I was going to fast for the turn and my tractor still was going forward. I thought for sure I was going to go into the snow piled up on that corner, but I managed to brake and resume a hard left and kept moving forward into the Pilot which was not well plowed. I thought for I sure I was going to get stuck just maneuvering on the lot, but I managed to keep moving.

I'm out of the snow now that I have cleared the Mount Shasta area thank goodness.

The salad sounds good! Have you ever had triffle. Sponge cake soaked in sherry or rum and whipped cream. I made it once.
