So i read the voting pamphlet. Got to find my ballot. It's probably on my desky which hasn't seen the gentle ministrations of my attention since this taxy business started. Checked 540 and it's not in sight on the horizon. Said thank you for your patience. How presumptive. I have given no patience. I would've called your company a dirty dog, except im fond of dogs. So tonight i shall do a much needed desky session. I have opened the mail tho. Just in case more of my accident prone relatives with the same last name have met their demise on the dangerous burma road and having no heirs this company has found me and will hand over a fortune for a 40% cut. Unfortunately, no letter. But ive gotten 3 already. It's such a hoot. A gem, really. I almost want to hang it on the wall.

    Have a pink day!

Enjoying a cuppa decafe. Mr x handed me a diet Pepsi and said i only had 2 bottles left, better reorder. I said, i reordered yesterday. He laughed. I don't let the pink Easter grass grow around these feet. And im getting a decafe sampler. So, more to review. It's hard to find decafe k pods, for some reason. It's not like it's a pick me upper or something. Who would drink decafe when the sole purpose of Joe is to wake up?

My lil taxy foray didn't go so well today. Tried 540 2ez form but got strange results. So started on reg 540. I have the form, but no booklet. Went ol. There is no Calif booklet. They're in process of updating. How lame can they be? W 2s come out end of Jan. Booklets should be ready to go. Someone is seriously asleep at the wheel. Maybe they had a decafe. They had a suggestion spot. I responded you require our taxes in a timely manner. The materials we need should be timely, too. I severely edited out the idiot and silly goose references. IRS and cops are alike. You don't want them giving you a second glance.

And then we come to the perplexing matter that is Baby Nut. He is garnering some ferocious ill will. Death threats to turn him into peanut butter etc. I don't understand it. He's a baby. He's only 9 days old. Of course he can talk. But animals and legumes have different growth rates than humans. Is it that he has a merchandise page? Don't most brand images? Why are they out to get poor Baby Nut? He is the cutest. He's quite fond of dancing. I took another look at the Baby Nut hat for sale. They charge about 5 to ship. But then about 3 in taxes. And you have to fill out an exhausting invoice thingy. Sorry Baby Nut. Come to Amazon where the grass is pinker.

Now i think ill read thru my voting booklet.

Tuesday morning to you all. Kind of sunny cloudy. Supposed to heat up today. Guess I'll use a small hand warmer. These things save my life in winter. It's a discreet pocket of warmth. There was/is a store called Tuesday mornings, i believe. Lauren bacall used to do ads for it. It's like a jumble sale. Places i need to stay out of.

Im having buyer's regret this morning. After viewing all that confectionery porn last night i purchased a box of cake mix. Triple chocolate, to be exact. Im sorry, but i couldn't resist. Now i have to make a cake... and eat a piece every day. Or freeze it if i can find a space mr x hasn't stashed his voluminous packages of frozen food.

I was thinking of him, too. He'll be so gleeful to smell chocolate cake baking. He raided the freezer of the last package of xmas choc i had. Sea salt caramels gf had given me. And now im having those. A handful before my 90 min bike. Mr x had secretly bought penguin gummies. I walked by and said, i smell gummies. He shamefacedly held out the bag. Three cute cartoon penguins adorned the bag. I said, welcome to our happy home. And held out my hand. Last night i had 2 after dinner. One more than normal. And my ch reflects a slightly higher number this morning.

Ch is the strangest disease. You don't look like you have it, but it affects everything. Eventually. You have to watch everything you eat. Not just that, you have to time it. You can't have a normal macs meal of burger, fries, shake. You can have the burger, a small one. No fries and definitely no shake. Or you could have the fries. But then you need some protein like chicken nuggets. But nuggets have batter which has carbs. Or you could have the shake only and really be doomed. Tremendous carbs.

On the other hand you can use the secret weapon of exercise. That innocuous activity really helps. Im anxious for warm weather to start so i can get to my outdoor regimen. Exercise on your feet much better than bike. Now if you're racing gangbusters down the street that's one thing, but i lazily pedal while watching a movie. Right now going thru 5 seasons of leverage. Occasionally i stand up to pedal.

Maybe this year i can get back on my favorite running road. There's a mad incline. It's actually all incline. And i used to fondly run it. About a 6 mile loop listening to country music on my Walkman. It was paradise. Hot sun, colorful togs, sunscreen fragrance. I want that again. I want to wear my running gear. I have wonderful, authentic stuff. Armloads of crop tops in every hue. Longer crop tops. Crop tops are sleek. Regular running tops are fine, but loose and floppy. Crop tops fit like a second skin. And are just as hard to get into. Last year i wasn't quite ready to wear them. You have to be supremely fit. No pudge. I don't even know how much i weigh anymore because i have so many clothes on.

Hard to get going on a Monday. Think i need super exxon next time. Having a gevalia mocha. My fav. No cleaning tonight. Shocking, i know. But i found i was on my last bottle of diet Pepsi. So i did a grocery shop from Amazon. I was sorely tried not to succumb to the siren calls of cookies, cake, and candy. And my ole nemesis, oreo p. Crawford really tried. He really, really tried. Ive never seen so many new varieties of oreo. The chocolate covered nutter butters almost did me in. Yet, i resisted. Barely. I got more Joe, crackers like triscuit. Bleh. Cheetohs popcorn, yippee! I mean, that i must try. I could've used some more jam for pbj. But they were all out except for strawberry and grape jelly. How can you have no jam? At least in the prime pantry dept. I don't get it. Then some sugarless mints. Bro probably needs to come by again. I may have to go out to the dreaded restaurant. Frankly, I'm scared to have him here. Im not saying he stopped up loo, but the 2 days he came, i had to call a plumber twice. And that is rather stressful. So i suppose well hit restaurant. No, maybe just scooter. I really don't like the restaurant scene anymore. I don't mind hitting macs after, to confer. I get to listen while he tells me all his woes. I get Joe, he gets diet drink, and we nosh on sugar free mints. Play with my fidgit toys. Sounds good, no?

Did a lil slice of taxy. Proofread the thing. Wrote it up in final form. Tomorrow start on 540. Mr x got me some copies of the form at the library. He sweet talked the woman into doing it for free. The sly devil. Well, it's almost 7 p.m. and he'll be making another dinner. Last nite was dinty Moore. I wore my pink buffalo check shirt. Button down.

Hi ho! Hi ho! It's off to work we go. With razor blades and hand grenades hi ho hi ho! Hi ho! Hi ho! Hi ho! I bit the teacher's toe. That dirty rat, she bit me back hi ho hi ho! Yup, another sunny albeit frosty day in the hood. Mr x said winds at Tahoe were 209. It was 31 mph here. I had a productive taxy yesterday. Im in the home stretch of proofing the 1040. The proof is in the pink pudding. I tidied a bit. Brought some piles o stuff to back room. I had to get something out of my closet and it was delightful to be able to walk right in. Walk right in! Sit right down! Daddy, let your hair hang down! But this chair really bugged me. I hang my worn jackets, vests on it. It was getting bigger n bigger. That's it. I removed it. There were 8 articles of clothing. Im so irritated at my sloppiness.

So, books. Mr wrong, i looked up studs. That was a nick, btw. He didn't have a fascination for woodworking accessories or a reputation as a paramour for wayward women. I had noticed he past a while back. They had mentioned his book called working. Yesterday looked up his bio. They had some excerpts. Just average Joe's and Josephines working lives and what they thought of it. Interesting. Also studs life. His folks had boarding house so he was introduced to a microcosm of humanity at an early age. He trained and got lawyers degree then decided he didn't want to pursue it. He followed his interest in people. Very interesting. Id like to read the working book someday.

Then Judy blume. They made guys read it? In high school even. I have read many of hers but don't member now. But, she understood girls because she was one.

I avoid war books or movies. Even books aimed at guys. Like the hardy boys. Id much prefer Nancy drew. I like to read about the fashion, cooking. Not to say i haven't read hardy books but guy stuff like hunting, fishing, fighting is not my thing.

I haven't read crucible but have heard of it. Sounds grim. Some things unless you're forced it's hard to get into. Yet i enjoyed Walden's pond. Because i come from hoarder house. I found his empty cabin very satisfying. One day a woman visited and brought him a broom. He endured a bit of existential conflict over it. A broom would necessitate a dust pan etc. Where to put the broom? He would do better with twig with some brush on it. Use it on floor then burn in fireplace.

Just a brief pink jot here. I resume Day 8 of taxy. And sunlight is oh so good. My eyes are still crossed which makes reading print difficult. Got to really work on the eye exercises. Yesterday was spent feeding Wally washer.

Today was off to a bumpy start. I made my Joe too weak. Don't you know by now how much to use? Obviously not. I may need a k pod infusion sooner than later.

Then, Mr x still making din. Last night was Turkey something or other, brown rice, and broccoli. He said it was Turkey. I let it slide but didn't like it. Today i said just call it enchilada. I don't like specific words. Im on the cusp of being vegetarian. When you say Turkey, i envision a Turkey strutting around. I don't want to think im eating that.

Then Mr x gets all defensive and snaps well you should tell me before. You never tell me anything. And this is why. Mr x is a complex fella. If he's amiable, he's extremely personable. He bikes around and chats up everybody. They love him. He's very charming. But you've never seen his ugly side. I have. And i can deal with it. I am extremely passive and never snap back. If he's annoying me, i simply leave the room. But i dislike his outbursts and do remember them.

So Mr x was cycling enthusiast for many years but has waned now. But he has all this professional gear. Biking clothes of every type. They wear padded bike shorts. When i was vac closet, i vac his cycling shoes. They clip onto the pedal. Oh, losing train of thought. It just went by. I spied Mr wrong sitting in open car sipping a root beer. Hi wrong san! Konnichi wa! A hearty Asian greeting. Tosses you a bento box. Enjoy!

So mr x was wearing a cycling Jersey. Incredibly thin material. White and blue. Very smart. It reminded me of this curious George monkey stuffed doll i had. I was on a curious geo kick and he got me lots. A huge one, smaller ones. Birthday George etc. Well there was a racer George. Wearing blue n white Jersey just like his! I brought it out and said George wants to join the race too. Mr x laughed delightedly. Im keeping the wild beast happy.

For extra credit, the literature class was given the opportunity to attend a play about World War Two by Studs Terkel called The Good War. I enjoyed this play immensely as it was so well acted out and produced. Very colorful and entertaining. Your eyes never strayed from the set. I shed a tear when I learned of Studs Terkel's passing. One of America's more underrated authors for sure.

Never heard of Anna Labastille. I did, however, read some of Judy Blume's racy writings in high school. Why someone considered her to be a suitable read for high school students is beyond me.
Never did we read Red Badge of Courage, but by jove, we did read The Crucible. Another snoozer novel I failed to understand.

My nightly entertainment was reading by candlelight. Needful Things by Stephen King was a book I read cover to cover this way. Since then, my zest for book reading has dropped off completely because I am unwilling to focus on reading the printed word.
On Walden Pond was a book I remember suffering through as a class reading assignment. Never saw the point of this alleged literary masterpiece.
Some recluse pauper builds and lives in a shack near a pond, reflecting on life and other miseries prominent in 19th century New England. Or at least that's how I felt about Thoreau's work.
Twain's musings of the period I find much more entertaining.

I used to burn candles. My makeshift shelter consisted of tarp wrapped around four trees huddled close together with a crude roof built from two by fours and plywood sheets. I would set candles on one the base trees which had a low branch cut yielding a flat surface.

amazing as it sounds, i passed the dmv vision test. i was quite apprehensive in days leading up to it. every nite religiously doing the eye exercises. straining, straining to see, imagine, the dinky little letters. when it came time to test, i didnt even falter! i guess i could see the shapes good enough to recognize. mr x came with me. we had a 2.5 hour wait. he started grumbling part way thru the wait.

other day we were at macs. tried their new ice mocha. yum!

then yesterday hung out with bro for 5.5 hrs. he had these dumb rebate cards to redeem and he didnt need anything. so we went to walgreens, 2 cvs, and a tjs. i caught up on my shopping. we hit a macs and i tried the caramel macchiato. even better than the mocha. we got along very well. we had been estranged a long time. but now i suppose i will eventually move closer to him. he lives in san jose. not a place id like to be. maybe i can move nearby on the coast. would like some fog weather.

so i passed my big hurdle. can relax now and get back to normal. have to hire a drywall guy.

just finished a great read. about uber rich ladies and the scam perpetrated against them. a good frothy read. hey, its fall i believe! got bottle of pumpkin spice latte by starbucks. so curious to taste it.

welcome to fall! time to bring out the sweaters.

finally got back here. we had a plumbing event. on labor day mr x noticed water running off front lawn. a water main had broke. a small 2" gush was gushing out. mr x called water company who turned off water. then i called our go to plumber. a solution was to replace pipe to house. however id been wanting to replace the pipes one day. we had no hot water at bathroom sink and cold faucet was dribbling out. i knew it was a matter of time. then. we didnt have hot or warm water in washer. only cold. thats why my wash would take hours. so i decided to kill all birds with one stone. i replaced all pipes with copper. it took a total of 5 days. we had no water for 3 days. first day we used wipey dypes. 2nd day mr x warmed water jugs in sun and we bathed with a gallon of water. i helped mr x wash his hair on back lawn. i viewed the experience like camping. its doable, but im not keen on it. 3 guys were here. all spoke spanish. so i decided to learn spanish on phone app. itd be nice to be able to converse with them.

im doing eye exercises. plan on taking vision test next week. its better not doing close work, which ive done my whole life. reading way too much. better to look at scenery. i think ill continue the eye exercises.

we had really hot temps, then other day first rain of the year! it began with a thousand lightening strikes. scary, and weird for this area. it started brush fire couple towns over. also monsciour ugly was caught on film sliding his grotesquely ugly body under a residents fence. # the outrage

id been watching lovely old films, then the plumbing debacle. i have to bring in a drywall guy to patch up the holes the plumber left. already found my guy thru yelp.

back to school time, but kids already back. when did that start? and no telethon with jerry lewis. he really wanted to hit 100.

its been super hot here. sf broke record. something like 106. we were 107. i was taking 3 showers a day. would sit outside at nite for air, started watching my dvd player. watched, british intelligence, with boris karloff. such an intimidating man. it was a ww1 flick in blk/wh. got bit by mosquitos. its the gift that keeps on giving. next nite sprayed off on.

got couple more weeks for eye exercises then have to take dmv vision test. strangely enough, the pinhole glasses im using seem to help. before i couldnt see without glasses without closing an eye. now im able to read my phone without glasses. of course, i return to glasses asap.

the smoke from oregon and calif fires drifted down here. could smell it slightly. today its a strange totally overcast day, but warm.

your friendly, pink weather girl.

hi izzy! i know what you mean. its fun to read new blogs. kind of like toothpaste. if nothing to read, ill read the tube. tube tops. i thought those were the dumbest things. then my wing went out once and i couldnt finagle a bra. so had to get the tubes. so easy to put on. i have them in colors, of course. fuchsia, lime, orange.

im writing on lappy, my laptop. too onerous to text on my phone.

its been a long, hot summer. i look forward to fall temps when i can don my beloved denim jackets.

izzy, that was interesting telling of what a nuclear stress test is. what is the nuclear part? the dye? it sounds so high tech. nuclear. do you glow now:)

i need to clean my fans. some arent openable. need some kind of thin bristle brush.

a few cities over madame ugly and her spawn were spotted. search partys are out since they came down where schools are. i noticed their looks didnt improve over the summer.

did i mention mr x found a dead rat on back lawn. thankfully he disposed of it. he said it was 17" with tail. # ick

see you in september!

then i started a cary grant and rosallnd russell movie.

i made up 5 packs of indonesian ramen. made oodles of noodles. heard ramen is hot commodity in prisons. ramen wth an egg on top. # breakfast is served

i should try on my cargo shorts again. itll probably be another year till i can wear them. i sure love the pockets. i used to be a tomboy back in my tomcat days. but i grew out of it. i get more favorable responses when i dress ladylike.

We had to replace the water pipe to our house, years ago, when we had our own house. BF and a friend did the work.
A root from a tree had punctured the pipe...so the tree was felled.
The lawn never recovered from the line that had to be dug into it to access the pipe.

I bet its nice to have working water again!

OMG, the smoke from the fires drifted into Colorado so thick that it allowed one to look directly at the sun without seeing spots when looking away!
We could barely make out the shapes of the mountains through the heavy smoke.
When the sun had set and the moon had risen, the moon looked much like the sun had looked...only the sky was dark!
There was also a fire near Steamboat Springs, Colorado that grew from 2 acres to 419 acres in just a few hours...that also contributed to our smoky air.
The elderly and people with health issues are being advised to stay indoors with the doors and windows closed.
Its really kinda scary to see that much smoke in the air!

I'm glad to hear that the eye exercises and the pinhole glasses are working for you! ...I should try something like that since my aging eyes are failing fast...but I am lazy lately...maybe at another time.
