It's hot and I'm cranky. Also feel fat. And Mr x keeps talking. He's a one man baseball commentator. I've never experienced this before. My dad or bro didn't talk to themselves. Corona Joe went to visit a relative for 4 days.

I did a few things today. I grabbed all the tees in the closet and put them in a basket.

I worked on my phones and printer trying to connect. Jotting down the instructions. Only one phone connects so far.

I can't take Mr xs yik yak. Moving up stakes and going to back room to read. I'm particularly cranky today. This oppressive heat, the unrelenting overcast.

It's stuffy hot in here again. This must be the dog days of summer. Last nite finished that book of the woman working low wage jobs on purpose. To see if she could afford the rent. It was a close call. She would get a second job, too. It was waitress, hotel maid, house cleaner, senior care aide, sales, work at Wal Mart. They refer to themselves as Wal martians! The waitress job was frenetic, hotel maid boring and hard on the back, house maid very petty rules and physically uncomfortable.

Her job at Walmart was the most interesting. She worked in women's clothes folding, returning, sorting etc. It was the easiest, in a way. But she really spaced out here. She started seeing the area as her area. She didn't like the clothes being sold because they were hers. She saw the customers as Intruders.

Now I have three books to return! Today is omelet Friday so it's an inn day. I have got to get back on the exercise track. I'm so off line.

Well, what to do today? Maybe drag out the old desky ball n chain.

Having a decafe. It's hot in here. I read the whole us is having heat wave. Today I vac some. Didn't bike. Bro told me he actually got that used pink scooter for me! I knew it. He's not going to ride something pink.

It was another tiresome clang banger day. They were out on driveway digging with some machine digger. They got close to our water main. Mr x went out to have discourse with them. Said look what you did here. They dug up something on our side. He said you better not break the water line. He said the guy was giving him some attitude so Mr x mentioned or else he'll speak with the contractor who lives up our st. Anyway I hate this kind of stuff. Mr x was spoiling for a fight. He even put off his beer for awhile. He has two sides. One extremely genial and the other very confrontational. Mr x worked with rather rough guys and he can hold his own. But what does that get you. If our car was outside, they could damage it. They could throw a rock through the window. But if you don't speak up they walk all over you. It's a lose lose. It's been most harrowing and unbelievable. Should be over by Oct we've heard.

They're Jack hammering again. Mr x went out to have a look. As the construction manager doesn't mind stepping over the line. Boy, I'd like to move from this hood to some nice isolated property. Got to use down my stuff first. I was tempted to buy more shorts. I have lots of shorts but they're in different categories. I was running short of home shorts. I don't sit around in running shorts or hot cargo shorts at home. Some of my home shorts are getting really loose. I hate those ties they have around the waist so I remove them. Anyway, I'm glad I resisted buying more. I just have to keep up with Wally and rewash them.

I've done not much and it's almost noon. Did do good eye session. And yesterday forgot that I read a bunch of mags. And I tried to get into this sim slot in my phone, but couldn't. Stuck all sorts of pins n needles. Wanted to try a Mint sim.

This hammering makes me jittery. I don't feel like desky. My hand warmers due in. Maybe I'll pivot and do cleaning. Feel blah.

Haven't done eye ex yet. Ima bum. Not very productive day. I feel fat. I measured and I gained half an inch. And after all that ex I did in July. Went out 17 times. That's over 17 hrs of ex. And I gain a half inch? My metabolism is so slow. I prob only need to eat 2.5x a day. Maybe Mr X's din are too much. I have been more indulgent since I've been Inn because of the heat. But gee whiz.

I found the jury duty shorts I was considering and they're too tight, plus too heavy. It's a zipper one. I found a taupe twill one which is much lighter plus has elastic band, but no cargo pockets.

Oh, I had this Clarks sandal I bought maybe a decade ago. I bought a bunch of on sale sandals. Well this one had straps. The strap broke on one. I tried to fix it. Didn't work so I never wore it. I considered dumping it. But fixed it. I cut off the straps! I'm using it as a slip on, which is perfect for inside. And the sandal is still in good condition cause it's well made.

I think I'll wrap up this day and listen to radio shows. Earlier listened to a bunch of mystery ones. Too many of those are depressing tho cause it's murder, mayhem etc. Then I switch to comedy.

We had a clang banger issue which I don't even want to get into. A lot of fuss over nothing. At least they weren't hammering. Seemed to be stapling. For hours.

Corona Joe just called so Mr x went to ride. He had the fan turned on for me so that's nice. Going to be hot again. I did my 125 situps and wts. I've been slacking. I cancelled Mr xs dental appt. He'd gone twice in 2020 and even 6 mos ago and I wasn't particularly concerned. But the Delta strain is concerning. It was one woman on Twitter that did it for me. She's fully vax, but got Delta. She said she rarely goes out, but does live with grown kids. She's having unpleasant time with the symptoms.

I haven't gone to dentist, doc, or restaurant since 2019. I'm still skating on my ch strips. I don't test that often. Usually if needed on a work out day.

What shall I do today? Lovely empty day. Clang bangers are here but I've heard no Jack hammers. Think I'll try on a jury duty cargo shorts. Was reading about heat related deaths and this was a HS girl. They had her running laps. How very stupid. They should put lower temp restrictions. Those parents should sue school. I don't see the coaches running. There was case near here about runner that disappeared. He was found off trail under a tree. They think the extreme heat did him in. And he was young, seasoned runner. Like 30s.

Bros latest free find was a cute but dumb Santa figurine. It plays an instrument and moves. He likes those moveable figurines. Then he showed me pic of electric scooter. The motor and battery were removed. Bro removed chain. It's a large 8" razor. But it's pink. Bro doesn't like femme colors. Maybe he'll send it my way. I need a bigger scoot if we ever go on a vacay again.

But I'm enjoying the workouts. We get out and get fresh air. Well I'm early for once. Think I'll do some eye exercise to start.

I'm halfway thru the book. Now she's doing housework as a maid. It's quite an eye opener. The actual way they clean the house. It's all for looks, not particularly for cleanliness. And the rules. You can't eat, drink, chew gum in the house. They can't even drink water? This book was written around 2000. I can't imagine not being able to drink water. I suppose you have to go outside to drink.

Today wasn't very productive. It was madness hearing the Jack hammer all day. I did inside bike. I saw my hand warmers were on sale and bought 8 boxes of them for $170. I looked for my remaining stock but couldn't find them. Ever since treadmill was removed and I had to move everything around, I don't know where stuff is. It's somewhere. This house is small. The house maid chapter mentioned when a house got around 3k sq ft the owners needed help. This house is 1100 sq ft and it's manageable for me to clean. I like cleaning the house. I do it thoroughly, when I do. But otherwise it can remain off. I've noticed some walls need vac.

It was 89• outside today. Tomorrow supposed to be hotter. Listened to another radio show, my friend Irma. I liked it. Heard space patrol. Early 50s kid show. The retro ad was wheat and rice Chex. My fav is corn. I saw an article saying Farmers were digging up almond trees cause of the drought. So Mr xs almond milk might go up. I use it for my slim fast. Heard stamp prices going up to 58c soon.

Think I'll go lie down and listen to radio shows. I'm all scrunched on this couch. Mr x at the end of it. If I leave, he can stretch out.

Confusion says, chaos and clang bangers commencing at hells kitchen. Today our lovely pests from hell are right outside the LR window. They were Jack hammering the concrete. Now this insane creature in a twirling moon Rover device is scooping up concrete and depositing in truck. I worry his truck will damage the hedge or hit our post.

So today Corona Joe told Mr x another story about our whirling dervish nabe, the one who screams and calls cops. This time she turned her wrath on a nabe on the other side of her who was having construction work done. She was swearing up a blue streak shouting the dust was getting on her car. However this nabe shouted back saying why don't you just clean your car and send me the bill? This set her off even more.

There's something wrong with this woman. There's no peaceable between. She goes straight on the offensive. One wonders how this has worked out. Car rage, clerk rage. How many times was she fired? Corona nabe said his daughter was 3 and playing with bird seed flinging it around. The demon beast saw and went off on the child! You're the one causing all these birds to come! Corona Joe didn't speak to her a few years because of this.

I couldn't do desky, obviously. So I went in hall and cleaned two shelves. Didn't do the clothes shelves yet. It's all full of tees. Which I can't wear until the cold of winter.

Soup had wild rice. Maybe I'll go read in the back. With an ensure. So I've been reading her experiences as a waitress. Pretty grueling. Now she's being hotel maid. The women really like the soap operas on TV. I don't think I'd like to be a maid. Your back needs to be strong. My back once went out inexplicably making the bed. Just leaning over.

Guess I'll toddle off.

Mr x just called Corona Joe to bike. He said Cuomo has resigned. I was shocked. Hadn't read that yet. I can't keep up on the news. Just reading Christina Applegate has Ms. She already had breast cancer bout. She's only 49.

Mr x had told Joe he wouldn't be riding cause he was going to Costco. On his bike! It's a fair bit away and you have to cross a really busy st. Corona Joe went with him once and Mr x had to coach him when to go. So this isn't some st I'd be going with my no speed bike. And Joe is 78 years old. But was a soccer player in HS. I like to see seniors still active.

Yesterday had a very productive desky season. Did banky. And later did 30 min on indoor bike. It's cooler today but Mr x will have gone out twice. I won't scooter. I still feel tired. Maybe the temp. It's still muggy. I'll do more desky or something. Consider going out tomorrow. Maybe bike. The least strenuous option.

Time to put up hair.

Mr x just went out to bike with Corona Joe and tell him he caught another rat. 18" Yuck. This makes three in about a mo.

Clang bangers back giving me a pain. I don't think it'll be a scooter day. I have no energy. My get up and go has got up and gone. I'm thinking it's the temp. It'll be past 80• if I went and I'd prob be warming the curb again.

Yesterday vac dining room. Started the jury duty list. I'd like to wear my cargo shorts. Have a bright orange one. Love all the pockets. Got to see if it fits. Then I need to start collecting the stuff in a box. The jury duty letter, mask, fidget toy, fan etc. Then a week before have to change my sleep time. Cause jury time is 8:30 a.m. that would mean leaving 7:45 or so. That would mean a bath, makeup, breakfast super early. You call night before for confirmation. They can change time, place, excuse you, put you on call back. All uncertainties. But that's what you have to prepare for.

I told you bro needed tow? Turns out it was a/c compressor. He's planning to donate it and buy another one. He has 5 vehicles at his place. He uses his double car garage for storage. Two of the cars are our folks and don't run. He has a rickety truck, this 21 yr echo and a 13 yr Yaris. He also inherited our folks bought-new taurus but trashed it after having some dental drug. The air bag went off and car must be trashed. Weirdest thing. Well, we'll see what he does. Hoarders don't move fast. Procrastination is thy name.

Last work out was Thur. This is the 4th day. I have to do something. Maybe a patio session? Indoor bike? This whole week looks hot.

I'm reading a book called nickeled and dimed. Author doing experiment if she can live on wage of different jobs. Waitress, maid etc. I was never a waitress but it always intrigued me. Like Alice's diner. Or Roseanne. I would've liked to wear the outfit but it has to be sleeveless! I think it would've bothered me to see food waste.

Mr x got the melon refund. I'll have to check it was a credit not a debit. Maybe I'll do some desky then mosey out and get on skateboard and balance board. I have to sweep down patio for twigs.

And I did a good session of eye exercises. So yesterday was ok. Mr x liked his gifts. He didn't open them all. That's what I do. I open a couple at a time to make it last. Gf may come by with my bday gifts next mo but I'd rather she just stay home and rest. But her sis does live few towns away.

On HS blog I posted pic of me running in backyard in HS. I looked like a nerd. Not a sophisticated junior. My next pic will be same year in my karate uniform. I took it about 2 years.
