You're doing Another blog! How is this possible? Well ive not been slogging. Or anything. I can feel my girth expanding even as we speak. Im eating too much. After lunch i got the munchies so opened the oatmeal squares cinnamon cereal and munched. It was a good snack.

Then i napped. Then resumed vac. I finished the main vac. Next is the detail vac where i do sills and crawl under tables to vac. If im feeling particularly frisky, i may even mop kitchen again.

Today was light weight productive but what you gonna do? Now, the Joe. I feel pretty alert now but I'm stuffed from din. Veg, mushroom ravioli, and mahi mahi. Plus small orange. I usually do nothing productive at night.

I found a new song i like. We live on borrowed time. By Jason Alexander. George Constanza from Seinfeld. He's my fav character from the series and to find he sings is cool. But i still see traces of the George character! It would be wild to be a friend of someone like him. How do you separate him from the character? He looks like George, moves like George, talks like George.

It feels less fraught tonight. They've cancelled some red alert warnings. They worried more dry lightening would hit, but it didn't. And heat was down cause smoke was obscuring sky.

Im looking forward to tomorrow's chores. Back to desky? I still have those statements. And im going thru my devices. Collecting them for the grab bag. I can't be at ease until it's done.

Im reading this British mystery, a Victorian one. They speak of being a gentleman. That was a certain type of man. Principled, moral. I guess a lady would be the counterpoint. Anyway, this woman marries but there is some secret about her husband. She must find out. I must find out! What is it about a mystery that drives one mad with curiosity?

Mid day status report for worker bee, bumble dazz. I am so tired. Still. And im trying an exciting experiment. Even as we speak i am having a second kpod. This time white chocolate strawberry. Let's see if the magical purported benefits of the cafe bean shine down on one weary, pink dazz.

I don't get it. I went to bed earlier than normal. You'd think id spring to attention in the morn. You'd be wrong.

I could never be a fire gal. I read some are working 72 hr shifts. That's 3 days. How is that possible? I want to try whatever Joe they have. But otherwise thats not healthy. They'll start hallucinating.

So what have i done? Certainly not the window. No energy for that. I vac half a room. Mr x keeps napping all over the place. Here, back room. It impacts me making noise. He has terrible insomnia and doesn't sleep at night, barely. He went out twice and shopped. He wore the new purple mask i got and liked it.

Im cleaning dear, loveable desky. She is dusty. Im also putting stuff away. Ran across this tiny tarnished goat pendant. I used this ammonia based jewelry cleaner i had never used. Worked well. Looked it up. I could've made my own ammonia and dish soap cleaner. Barney Google is so informative. So i took this small dish of key pendants and will clean them. But later. Im going to need a nap. Ill have to remove the claw clip holding my hair neatly. Rats. Smoke smell picked up so had to shut window.

Im so sleepy and i haven't even got out of the gate yet. I got up around 6 a.m. before my 7:10 a.m. alarm. What have i done so far? Making brown rice in cooker. Set up 4 more containers in freezer. I pre portion the amount. Today when i cooked it, i grabbed a container and added spices. I use these Asian dry soup mixes. This one corn. It seasons it delightfully. Also washed up a bucket of rice to put in freezer. I noticed mr x encroaching on my brown rice shelf again. His troops were on my shelf. He has three shelves. I only need one for my beloved rice.

Set up vac. Did some yest. Today ill finish the rest. Right, you need to fire grab and you're vac the carpet. Frankenstein move. Yest also cleaned out bath mirror cabinet.

Then today we have the orange rays again but so far no smoke smell. But i saw the red sun, izzy! But, you know what? I think it's a conspiracy. QSun. I wanted to take a pic. It didn't show up! Why can't i capture pic of red sun? I could only capture a faint white circle with orange around it. But i can see a red sun with my eye. Is it me? Do i need visine? I turned away sadly to go in. Then saw the red sun splashed on our white house. Eagerly i snapped a pic. Looked at it. You guessed it. No red sun.

So it's a fake. Maybe a Verizon satellite there has some red filler. You won't fool me again. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, ill take a spot behind Charlie brown for a turn at kicking that football.

I had the columbian kpod. Maybe it's working slightly. Should i have another cup? Will it energize me? I don't usually have more than one.

I can't do desky. My heads asleep. So it'll be physical chores. Think ill wash front window. It's a huge thing. I want to find my hs class ring. My hair's already up. Time to git er done, son!

It's even smokier today. Had to close the windows. I had seen the orange rays coming thru window. At least it's not beastly hot today.

I told you i played violin from maybe 4th grade thru junior college? That's a pic bro sent me. Im in the middle with the long black hair. Even then in pink. Score! Those dresses were homemade so i guess me poor sainted mother had to sew it. She was barely a seamstress and me even less so.

I was tickled pink to read your post, izzy! I member how i enjoyed the posts you used to do. I wasn't aware CO was burning too. I looked up a map of CO and noticed left side is foresty green and other looks like dirt. Isn't the grand canyon in CO? My folks honeymooned there. It was snowing.

So you know exactly how Calif fares. With the eeriness of red sun and orange sun rays. Gf in sacto getting ash on her car.

There's a purity in the snow you mention. The fires will go out and air quality improve. They're foretelling more dry lightening strikes here. That's horribly frightening. It was frightening when i heard it last week. Lightening and thunder with no rain. But now we know the lightening can start all these fires. Aiyee.

Today has started kind of lame again. Im still distracted by the fire threat. I made a fire grab list. Walked thru the rooms. Im going to pre pack some things like special jewelry. They're all over the place. I have my folks wedding rings, grandma's wedding ring. Some small diamond studs my aunt gave me as grad present. My lever back earring collection.

Ive crawled under desky and pulled papers. Car title, insurance. Birth certificates. Im corralling pics and other papers to scan. It's interesting the stuff that doesn't make the grade. Nothing in the kitchen. So i don't want to have some huge kpod collection.

Ill bring 7 days of clothes. Ch supplies. Glasses. Credit cards, cash. Even stamps. I bought a whole bunch lately.

I read this article about a couple in vacaville that lost their dream home. Guy in 80s happened to be awake cause of heat. He noticed flames coming over ridge. He and wife got out. I would hope he'd have a grab bag but i don't think so. He said all that's left were his tomato plants. If the deer hadn't got there first.

Then i read some evacs are way cautionary and they mentioned east San Jose. But fire fighters have easier time working if residents are out and safe. You have to have grab bags! I queried mr x about any momento he might bring and only thing is his buck knife. He said his bikes are too big to fit in car and obsolete anyway.

I think my grab bag will be small too. I should think of 2nd tier bag list. Less essential but still wanted. I mean my fitty does have some room. Mr x said one guy just threw stuff in his car. His house would burn but at least he got a car's worth.

Well i had half deli and ensure. Better get back to work. It was great to hear from you, izzy! I hope your fire situation improves, too!

    Hey, Dazzy!
    I thought I'd drop you a few lines...sorry I haven't done so sooner!
I gotta give you great kudos for your determination toward getting something productive done most every day, including some sort of exercise! I tend to spend most of my days lounging on the couch and staring at the TV. Between the anxiety, depression and lack of energy, I barely manage to get the bare minimum of chores done each day!
I wanted to say that I live in Colorado and I have heard about the fires in California! Due, in part, to the fact that we have some pretty devastating fires happening here, too! Right now there are 5 of them...one of which is the second largest fire in Colorado history...and is only 14% contained.
Our days in Denver have been smoky and hot, and the biggest fires are on the other side of the Continental Divide from us, but we can't even see the mountains due to the thick smoke, and the sun has had a science fiction type of red color to it for days!
We are in the midst of a drought and we have only seen 2 days with temperatures under 90°F so far this month and still have near record breaking highs forecast for the next 5 days!
There are reports that most of our 5 fires won't be under control until we start seeing snowfall! ...2 to 3 more months of smoky air! Yuck!
I'm glad to hear that you are not in an evacuation area! I certainly hope it stays that way!
What a year this has been! The virus, the protests and rioting (yes, we have been having violence in the streets of downtown Denver) and fires making the air hard to breathe!
I so hope that things change for the better soon! We are all in much need for some good things to happen!
Stay safe and productive, my Friend!

Smokey the dazz greetings from my outpost on the pink turret of dazzville, calif. A brightly animated castle in u.s.a.

I tricked you by writing at night. Usually i enjoy a mornings blog but i got up too late. I suppose from the busy, fraught day before. So i wasn't feeling very energetic. Im trying all my new joes. Yest dark roast. Today French roast.

I started with the new turquoise skateboard helmet. It had to be adjusted. Then i readjusted my bike one. All set. Mr x made soup. It was wedding soup. Tiny meatballs, pasta, and spinach. I went out to pick some tomatoes. Ive not been exercising back there.

We're getting off n on smoke. Depends on the wind. Right now i have front door open. Bro went to bank and said it was hard to breathe there. I found what credit card number that was. It was, indeed, my wells Fargo debit. I need to get it registered. I, dumbly, let the pin expire. Then i went thru a stack of paper. That's where i found the wells info. I found my washer folder. Still want to open it up.

Nothing else new. Fires still burning. Someone on Twitter asked if folks outside of Calif had heard of our fires. It's not that publicized. To us here it feels like all of Calif is burning. I was looking at airbnb places to evac if need be. I mean last night folks on next door were discussing what grid number we are so we'd know if we needed to evac. What are they saying? It's not here, yet. Then this a.m. mr x said he saw blue smoke in next block. He said prob chimney. I said who in their right mind would have the fireplace going on a hot, fire encroaching day? I said prob fire but no sirens were heard.

Think ill look at the washer folder now.

My eyes are kind of gritty. I have the front door open. There's a slight smoke smell. But i have two fans going to dilute any smoke smell.

What a day. I thought bro would have to evacuate here. We were texting then he said he just got alert. No San Jose evac yet. Yet? When was sj ever threatened? I looked it up. Dang if the eastern side had a situation. That side was preparing to evac. That's the side i was considering renting, particularly because it was near foothills. Hiking. Well, that area is totally off my books now.

So we went from leisurely chatting to discussing evac. What to bring? Which car? I said prob his truck. Can hold more. Throw in computers, papers. What instruments? He's a musician so has lots. I said we could store stuff temporarily on patio.

Anyway, i think his area will be ok. But this whole fire thing is freaking me out. Is it going to spread town from town and burn up all the houses? Im going to pack my own bag here. Mr x always has my car filled. We'd just get out and maybe hit an airbnb. Im signed up and it's very simple to access. Not that our area is in danger but i never heard sj either, being considered for evac. I have a cousin in Santa Cruz area and saw his town evac.

I didn't even tell mr x this convo i had with bro. Why get him stressed?

I had a super productive day. I went outside to gather my muumuus drying on chairs. As i came back thru the back storage room decided to work there. I left door open. Put on headphones. I really arranged stuff. Went in all the boxes. Got rid of a big one. That really helped. Now you can walk all the way to the window.

I want to use up stuff in that room so the space gets bigger and bigger. It looks nice now. I go in and admire the space.

No nap today! Don't know why. I pivoted and started vac LR.

So i had a very good day. Oh forgot to tell you mr x saw a fawn trot down our street. That is highly unusual. He was biking and saw him two other times. But where there're deer, monsieur ugly is sure to follow.

Speaking of monsieur ugly, a resident couple towns over was relaxing in his hot tub at 11:30 p.m. guess who he saw standing 3 feet away? I would be in such disbelief. I don't know what exactly happened after. Obviously guys ok. You do not want to go outside at night.

The Bradford Joe reviews are correct. It's very good Joe. Im trying a dark roast. Will have to look into more flavors, but these 100 will last me a bit. At the most i have Joe twice. Always in morn and a decafe in p.m. but it's been too hot for p.m. Joe. I could make a decafe and chill it for ice Joe.

Anyway, Friday returns to our faire shores. Mr x is chopping up veg for his pizza omelet. Listening to louie Armstrong s, what a wonderful world. It's a jazz station. Jazz for dazz. Works for me.

Lil smoke stinky today. Fires still burning. Was reading about big basin park in Santa Cruz. Fires tumbling the mighty redwoods. Redwoods are my fav tree. Folks documents being destroyed. Do you know where your birth certificate is? Where is mine? I think in a fire safe box under desky. I need to take photo shots of it.

I have the spare the air app on tablet. I don't want to exercise in unhealthy clime. I must say, all this smoke smell made me get out my vape. I like the faint smell of smoke. I haven't been using it. And i overdid, naturally, and had gotten a 50 cartridge box of espresso. I just couldn't resist. I love Joe and times when i can't have it, i can vape it. I chose non nicotine ones so i have no craving. Gfs sis smokes. Other day she said sis didn't want to go shopping with her because she didn't want to breathe the smoke.

Im having communication prob with gf. We exclusively em. She has a paid em service with the tiniest storage. As in my em's keep bouncing back to me. In the past id simply resend but other day only title went thru. So i took a photo of my em and sent that. It worked. She thought it was a clever solution. She printed it out. I asked she couldn't dl? I don't necessarily want my pithy ems floating around. So i wrote a reply em. And it bounced back. This is getting very irksome.

Yesterday wally was in 7th heaven. He got two weeks of wash to nosh. Haha. Wash to nosh. Wosh to nash. He was so excited he wet the floor even more than usual. I have two old tees and a towel under him. Later mr x said he wrung it out and threw it on garden. Oh, that day pg and e were here replacing gas line they stood a shovel in his mint plants. He was not pleased.

Mr x and his mint plants. A nabe was giving out free plants so mr x took them. They took in the ground and they're like his pets. He waters them, tends them. Brags about them. He is a proud mint parent.

But, what exactly is the purpose? I thought this was my prob. I looked up mint recipes. You can infuse them for mint tea or use in dishes. I thought that would be easiest. Chop up and sprinkle on din. I suggested to mr x why don't you do that? He said not yet. Ok, so it's just his pet. That's ok. Whatever floats your boat.

Better put my hair up. Day is fleeting. And i have many miles to go before i sleep.

Im back again. Mr x reading news articles to me. Some guy had big irs debt yet over half a mil found in his house. Yeah, yeah. So what. I asked how did they know how much money was in his house? They must've raided it. Then he mentioned the guy owned a few restaurants. One is in next town! Id heard of it. A lobster restaurant. It received good ratings but was expensive.

So what will i do today? Too lame to patio. Plus air not back to normal. It's a toss up between vac and feeding wally. Im feeling out of shape already.

But yest was stellar desky day. I did all my bills. Still have statements to fool with. And im trying to find a credit card. I see the number but don't know what it is. Im thinking it might be my wells Fargo debit card. Ive got a stack of files to look thru.

I took the last 12 pieces of bread and made glorious pbj. i froze 2/3 of them.

Oh, oh! I ordered the turquoise skateboard helmet. And getting 100 kpod variety. It's Bradford Joe. A generic but the reviews were unusually good. And 8 different kinds. Order supposed to be here today.

And i started the two week prilosec treatment.

Mr x brought me the melon sticker. It's called crunchy crush. It's an oval sticker. Reminds me of orange crush. And he just washed it and put in fridge! Score!

Strange, clear sky greetings from my confused town. I don't get it. There's some blue sky. Im not smelling smoke. No orange filter. Plus today not forecast to be that hot.

Very strange. Actually yest i was able to open windows but not the front door. A wind had come up and blown the smoke away. But i thought they were still burning? Ill have to check reports.

My mums hometown in wine country was put on alert to evacuate at moments notice. I have never been there. I had looked at airbnb offerings. Nice trails, mountain roads. Downtown seems kind of chichi. Im not into chichi. With designer purses and fancy cars. And wine. I like a more laid back vibe.

There's this town near Frisco called Pacifica. We used to adventure there. And mr x used to dive there. That fit most closely with my type. No super fancy restaurants. Lots of fast food. We'd take out kfc wings. Id get their delectable strawberry parfait. We'd go to ball park and watch game in car and nosh or go to ocean. They get lots of fog, too. And it's not crowded like sf.

I forgot what i was talking about. I've had fans going nonstop for days now. I wonder how long they'll last. I saw mr x bought another melon. I hope he washes it for me like last time.

My head is fried to a crackle. My ch went too low last nite. Din was salmon, brown rice, veg, and small orange. The rice was small so basically just a tiny orange for carbs. Later when i tested it was very low. I had an ensure and pbj but it was too late. It's like over drinking i guess. Next day you'll get hangover. This is my hangover. And i never learn, do i?

They have some monitor thing you wear that can tell your number. That seems useful. Ill look into it.

Don't want to hit the character limit so will end now.

amazing as it sounds, i passed the dmv vision test. i was quite apprehensive in days leading up to it. every nite religiously doing the eye exercises. straining, straining to see, imagine, the dinky little letters. when it came time to test, i didnt even falter! i guess i could see the shapes good enough to recognize. mr x came with me. we had a 2.5 hour wait. he started grumbling part way thru the wait.

other day we were at macs. tried their new ice mocha. yum!

then yesterday hung out with bro for 5.5 hrs. he had these dumb rebate cards to redeem and he didnt need anything. so we went to walgreens, 2 cvs, and a tjs. i caught up on my shopping. we hit a macs and i tried the caramel macchiato. even better than the mocha. we got along very well. we had been estranged a long time. but now i suppose i will eventually move closer to him. he lives in san jose. not a place id like to be. maybe i can move nearby on the coast. would like some fog weather.

so i passed my big hurdle. can relax now and get back to normal. have to hire a drywall guy.

just finished a great read. about uber rich ladies and the scam perpetrated against them. a good frothy read. hey, its fall i believe! got bottle of pumpkin spice latte by starbucks. so curious to taste it.

welcome to fall! time to bring out the sweaters.

finally got back here. we had a plumbing event. on labor day mr x noticed water running off front lawn. a water main had broke. a small 2" gush was gushing out. mr x called water company who turned off water. then i called our go to plumber. a solution was to replace pipe to house. however id been wanting to replace the pipes one day. we had no hot water at bathroom sink and cold faucet was dribbling out. i knew it was a matter of time. then. we didnt have hot or warm water in washer. only cold. thats why my wash would take hours. so i decided to kill all birds with one stone. i replaced all pipes with copper. it took a total of 5 days. we had no water for 3 days. first day we used wipey dypes. 2nd day mr x warmed water jugs in sun and we bathed with a gallon of water. i helped mr x wash his hair on back lawn. i viewed the experience like camping. its doable, but im not keen on it. 3 guys were here. all spoke spanish. so i decided to learn spanish on phone app. itd be nice to be able to converse with them.

im doing eye exercises. plan on taking vision test next week. its better not doing close work, which ive done my whole life. reading way too much. better to look at scenery. i think ill continue the eye exercises.

we had really hot temps, then other day first rain of the year! it began with a thousand lightening strikes. scary, and weird for this area. it started brush fire couple towns over. also monsciour ugly was caught on film sliding his grotesquely ugly body under a residents fence. # the outrage

id been watching lovely old films, then the plumbing debacle. i have to bring in a drywall guy to patch up the holes the plumber left. already found my guy thru yelp.

back to school time, but kids already back. when did that start? and no telethon with jerry lewis. he really wanted to hit 100.

its been super hot here. sf broke record. something like 106. we were 107. i was taking 3 showers a day. would sit outside at nite for air, started watching my dvd player. watched, british intelligence, with boris karloff. such an intimidating man. it was a ww1 flick in blk/wh. got bit by mosquitos. its the gift that keeps on giving. next nite sprayed off on.

got couple more weeks for eye exercises then have to take dmv vision test. strangely enough, the pinhole glasses im using seem to help. before i couldnt see without glasses without closing an eye. now im able to read my phone without glasses. of course, i return to glasses asap.

the smoke from oregon and calif fires drifted down here. could smell it slightly. today its a strange totally overcast day, but warm.

your friendly, pink weather girl.

hi izzy! i know what you mean. its fun to read new blogs. kind of like toothpaste. if nothing to read, ill read the tube. tube tops. i thought those were the dumbest things. then my wing went out once and i couldnt finagle a bra. so had to get the tubes. so easy to put on. i have them in colors, of course. fuchsia, lime, orange.

im writing on lappy, my laptop. too onerous to text on my phone.

its been a long, hot summer. i look forward to fall temps when i can don my beloved denim jackets.

izzy, that was interesting telling of what a nuclear stress test is. what is the nuclear part? the dye? it sounds so high tech. nuclear. do you glow now:)

i need to clean my fans. some arent openable. need some kind of thin bristle brush.

a few cities over madame ugly and her spawn were spotted. search partys are out since they came down where schools are. i noticed their looks didnt improve over the summer.

did i mention mr x found a dead rat on back lawn. thankfully he disposed of it. he said it was 17" with tail. # ick

see you in september!

i made up 5 packs of indonesian ramen. made oodles of noodles. heard ramen is hot commodity in prisons. ramen wth an egg on top. # breakfast is served

i should try on my cargo shorts again. itll probably be another year till i can wear them. i sure love the pockets. i used to be a tomboy back in my tomcat days. but i grew out of it. i get more favorable responses when i dress ladylike.

We had to replace the water pipe to our house, years ago, when we had our own house. BF and a friend did the work.
A root from a tree had punctured the pipe...so the tree was felled.
The lawn never recovered from the line that had to be dug into it to access the pipe.

I bet its nice to have working water again!

OMG, the smoke from the fires drifted into Colorado so thick that it allowed one to look directly at the sun without seeing spots when looking away!
We could barely make out the shapes of the mountains through the heavy smoke.
When the sun had set and the moon had risen, the moon looked much like the sun had looked...only the sky was dark!
There was also a fire near Steamboat Springs, Colorado that grew from 2 acres to 419 acres in just a few hours...that also contributed to our smoky air.
The elderly and people with health issues are being advised to stay indoors with the doors and windows closed.
Its really kinda scary to see that much smoke in the air!

I'm glad to hear that the eye exercises and the pinhole glasses are working for you! ...I should try something like that since my aging eyes are failing fast...but I am lazy lately...maybe at another time.
