Weary, smoke induced greetings from my beleaguered town. I tried to figure the weird color the sunlight is and decided on orange. It's like someone popped on an orange filter. Sky total overcast with the smoke. I tried opening kitchen window. It's on protected part of house next to alley. Nope, stinks.

C'est la vie. I texted bro in San Jose and he can now smell it. Guess wind was blowing our way. We're coastside, but a lil in. Between us and ocean are lovely green forests. That's what's burning.

Pescadero is a place i had considered for an Airbnb vacay even tho it's relatively close. They would have the delightful trails and solitude. But, conversely, they are far from dining establishments. And a lot of Airbnbs lack kitchen amenities. Most have micros, but those tiny ice boxes. You can't store a weeks supply in there plus leftovers. You'd have to travel to restaurant and there are very few options.

Anyway, another day. Another disaster. Those having to evacuate are in a whole different category of misery. Living in forests or fire prone areas they hopefully have a plan. Your grab and go list. Maybe even a list of friends or motels to hit.

I told bro to make a list too. I have a list but will update. In the heat of the moment, haha, you will lose your head and run out with something stupid. A concrete list can be your savior.

Well today's a desky day for me. I can return to my beloved statements. And i need to vac. And make pbj. And adjust treadmill. As scooby doo would say, i have rots and rots of stuff to do. Oh and decide on helmet. And Joe.

But i still get excited about the day and how to fill it. But above all i shoot for a productive day.

I have a headache. My eyes are fried. I've been deep in the rabbit hole of helmets. Can't make a decision today. There are only two choices. Bike or skateboard helmets. Bike ones are glossy. Board ones look like an old fashioned army helmet. Like a round bucket. They have a thing for matte colors. I'm looking at a turquoise one.

Its stuffy as heck in here even with the fans. I had to close the window and can't open the door because the smoke from Santa Cruz fire drifting here. Late afternoon sky looked dark. I went on back 40 to look at sky. smoke all around us. I had Mr x come see. You can smell the smoke too. Calif is burning again.

I suppose the moral of the story is things can always be worse.

Think I'll drown my sorrows in an icy ensure.

Im having an icy slim fast with a smidgen of kahlua. It's 100• out there. Picking tomatoes was uncomfy cause of the heat.

I did my session. Skates, skateboard, balance board, and ball.15 min each.15 min is a long time to bounce a ball by yourself. It was fun, but it'd be more fun with two. But then things can get out of control with it going over the fence.

The mister was Wonderful.

But now im turning gaze to my helmet. It doesn't fit right. It's for 5-8 yr old. Something like that. But it's so beautiful. Ive been stuffing my fat head in it. I want to get a sleeker helmet. That one is too big. I hate the straps that go under your chin.

I don't like some of these new rules. These safety rules. They keep compounding. Kids don't play outside anymore. They never ever rode bikes, till this virus.Their parents were afraid of kidnappers perhaps. Are they worse today?

I grew up free range. We played ball in the street. We rode bikes in the st. No one wore helmets. We didn't have security systems. Folks left their garage doors open. Now this is a paranoid town. I read the next door postings and shudder. I know exactly how this town operates. It's extremely liberal. Trump is despised. There's a large generosity. There's also a pettiness. Folks can turn on you in mid step if you don't adhere to towns propriety.

Small town life. We're getting squeezed by more residents. They keep building new apt buildings and there's no parking. One is near train tracks. Their rationale was the residents would jump on train to wherever. They wouldn't even need cars. Now the train system in jeopardy cause of low usage cause of virus. It might go down. Whoops.

I showed mr x my new masks. Had him try on my pink one. It fit him and he liked it. I have 3 others. Violet, dark pink, baby blue. Told him to pick. He picked the more manly color of purple. Id like to give bro one, too.

Time to search for a helmet and watch danger man.

Greetings from my vintage, retro town on the outskirts of miss kitty. There's a weird yellow tint of sunshine. I think it's the smoke. I read areas near here have fires. The smoke drifts and obscures the sky.

It's already getting muggy here. Im having my Joe. Got to reorder kpods. It's hard to find a good one with the conflicting reviews. The ones i fear are exploding kpods. I have had a couple. It's a mess.

Well, i checked my new masks. They seem ok. Tried on the pink one. It did fit. Think ill wash the others to get them ready. Tho i don't plan to go out. My doc sent reminder of ch test which normally i do twice a year. Im going to skip it plus my dentist.

I also tested out the new mister. It's great. Mister. Haha. It sprays a fine mist. It'll be great for slogging and there's another bottle ill keep in LR. To mist yourself and have the fans do their magic.

Gf has a/c in her apt in sacto. She said i should put one in. I demur, tho. It is not my desire to read up on a/c companies. Plus the cost to run them is really high. I think we can make do with fans. My folks never had a/c either. I kind of like to stay close to my roots. My mom hated heat but would never think of getting a/c. Too decadent. For me to get a/c would be disloyal. I have to suffer, too. What a nerd. My bro doesn't have a/c either. Maybe it's like the stories where you hear your parent walked 5 miles in the snow to school. Will you grow up and take a car? Actually i loved getting rides to and fro school. I didn't like walking. Plus i had to carry my violin. To this day i hate carrying stuff.

I didn't replenish my pbj supply so ill have to have a clif bar. Better jump on it. And heard fritz going to work so he won't be inadvertently peeking at me skating. Plus he won't be playing his music.

Im doing patio ex today. Im ready for it after resting yest.

Im still waiting for my Amazon order of the masks etc. Kind of excited to see the masks. They can be wet and were the coolest i could find. It's muggy overcast today and the boys in orange vests are gleefully digging up the st.

I was supposed to be skating. It didn't pan out. I felt tired. Suppose it's the heat. Time kept passing and i wasn't getting ready. I did eat my mighty mouse meal. But i didn't save the day.

I did a desky day. Why not? Ive got lots of banky to do. So ive been doing statements and bills. Think ill close down shop for the day. My back gets tired slouched over.

Last night i found a classmate from 4th and 5th grade. I had found her Facebook and knew she was in Oregon. She likes pilates. The yoga thing. She kind of seems like a hippy. Her dress, living space. Her fb has all these animal saving causes.

But now she posted videos. Of pilates instruction! Well. This was highly interesting. She speaks. I didn't remember her voice. She moved away after 5th grade. To Albuquerque. I don't know what her dad did. Id like to know. But she graduated hs in Oregon.

Now she's in Vermont! This girl really bounces around. She was exciting and charismatic back then. She was on a less tightened reign than me. She ate a piece of toast walking to 4th grade once. I was shocked. Where are you going to brush your teeth?

We had a candy day. Saturday. We weren't supposed to eat it other days. That was terrible. I gave money to this girl. I took my window screen off and passed her the money. She went to buy me candy. I ate it in school when i lifted my desk top up.

She was bigger than me so could ride me double on a bike. I would ride my bro double. Id be in back holding handlebars and my feet out balancing it. He'd sit in front of me pedaling! I don't member the specifics. Was i the nerd in front of her pedaling? Anyway they are great memories of her.

And now she has dozens of vids up. I can't reconcile her with the girl i used to know. She's older. Looks grownup. Kind of. I showed mr x her vid. He said he likes her. She has a calm, non pretentious demeanor.

Yes, she does. Ill watch some to pick up some yoga hints. Ive never gotten into yoga because it doesn't seem like exercise. But it can help after a long desky session. And i can watch gf and try to reconcile this current her to who i used to know.

Oh, i put in another Amazon order. The prilosec price went back to its starting price.

Guess ill wrap up desky and watch some danger man.

Hidey ho, neighbor! It finally cooled down some. Front doors open and two fans going. I read fires started cause of the lightening. Two near the Airbnb we rented last year. Remind me not to buy a house near a forest.

I did couchy today. It was too daunting to go sit at desky so i brought it to me. Shooed mr x out. I brought stacks over to the couch. I had piles on the floor. I found i haven't done my bank statements since the virus mess started. On one i was aghast to see i had just 1k in my checking. I started getting the vapors. That's not enough. I quickly pulled up account but it's ok. I had done too big a transfer. I have never bounced a check and don't plan to start.

I didn't work on stuff, per se. Just sorted them. I have a lot to do. One thing i did was add three more mos to mr xs tracfone.

In all, it was a satisfying couchy day. I also cut up more melon. Didn't take a nap so I'm hitting it. Tomorrow is patio day. Think ill drag my balance board out.

Nighty nite! Oh, i did it again. Im wearing a yellow spaghetti top and was adjusting it and doggone if i didn't feel a seam. Im wearing my top inside out again.

Mother nature is having a nervous breakdown here. I was awakened by hours of lightening and thunder. Yest i had heard radio mention dry lightening. I paid it no heed. What the heck is dry lightening? Today my knowledge has increased. It's lightening n thunder with no rain.

Then we got that. I heard something towards kitchen area. Is the fridge malfunctioning? No, it's from the furnace. For some reason when it rains you can hear it in the furnace.

These are scary thunder. I was sleeping on couch but i could see lightening flash thru closed eye. The thunder is immense. It's August. It was over 100• yest. And we're having a thunderstorm today. It's very weird. I went outside in disbelief looking at the wet pavement.

Now reading news articles. They're saying it's starting fires. And not to go out in it. At least temp is down right now.

Oh, oh. Saw another flash. Where's the thunder? Or is it the lamp flickering? I better make my Joe before electricity goes.

Today is desky day.

I have a headache. Prob from the unrelenting heat. I read western usa having heat wave. I was looking at airbnb houses. They're opening up. I don't think we'll go anywhere this year. It would definitely mess with my slogging. No way could I bring all the stuff I need. Last year we did our last airbnb in Oct. Even then that sonoma fire was raging etc. By Nov it was cold. So it's possible I could slog at least thru Oct.

I ordered some stuff from Amazon. Resisted the unicorn earring. Getting 4 masks in pastel colors. So beautiful. Violet, baby blue, pink, dark pink. I was trying to find a unicorn one. What else did I get? Shampoo. Baking soda. I skipped the prilosec because they upped the price. Oh, getting small mister bottles. For slogging. Usually I pour water from bottle over me. This will be neater.

I hate this iPad I'm using. It's always auto incorrecting.

Bops more jauntily back into the room. She bop. Have an icy mocha shake in hand. It stands at 100• proud, confident self assured lil cuss. You wait till winter and we'll wipe that sunny smirk off your face.

How did it go, dazz? Dazz, dazz, dazz of the jungle. Friend to you and me. Aiee yiee, watch out for that pomegranate tree! It was a grind. I started with the skateboard. Sitting on it and coasting to a post then pushing with foot to go back. That was ok. Getting used to being on a wobbly plank. It pitched me off once. I, decidedly, heard it giggle.

Then i stood on it and was able to coast like 3' that's the limit of the patio. At least my balance kind of remains. When i started on this board, i stood on it and pushed myself between the posts.

Then i laced up the skates. Those beautiful, heavy as andiron blocks. I started using the beautiful purple floral cane to balance. Later i fumbled without it. It was a grind. I had to stop a couple times.

Then i played with the two balls. One has a better bounce. It's a tiny thing like golf ball size. Turquoise. I was dribbling it. And that was finally fun. Soon i kicked off my teva sandals for better mobility.

All in all, it went well. I didn't crack my head. I was wearing a helmet. A beautiful purple flower print. Do you notice a pattern here? I must wear colorful everything. I don't know when that became de rigueur. Ill have to discuss with my shrink the next time i see her.

Now time for some danger man. Oh, fritz was playing his music loud. That's not appreciated in this neck of the woods. He must've had his glass door open. I could barely hear my headphones. And i scrapped using scooter because it makes unneighborly noise.
