Afternoon greetings from my lil pink shack on the shores of Gitchygoomy. A small nautical enclave of Bezos Ltd. Population uncertain until 2020 census complete.

It's been a relatively productive day here. Bull market up. Stocks slightly down. Metal trade good.

I cut up the remaining watermelon. It was much better. You look for the yellow patch. Prob the larger the better. Maybe it's where it sits. The other one didn't have it but Mr x said it had sugar lines. Sugar coming out? Well, it was pretty flavorless. And we had to eat two bags. Now we have two bags of the good stuff.

And i made up a batch of pbj. He had bought a new bread. Dave's killer bread. Like 21 grains. I read the label. Dave had been in prison for 15 years. His dad started a bakery back in the 50s. He eventually found his way back to the bakery. They hire 1/3 ex cons in rehab bid. Business was sold for about 270 mil. I don't know how that works. Maybe they're the silent partner. Ill let you know later how it tastes.

Late evening greetings from my lil corner of the world to yours. I didn't hear fireworks tonight. Maybe they got tired or are just faking us out.

Just had a chocolatey cold ensure. The starting of my party. But ive started yawning. I don't think the party will be long tonight. And it's a lot cooler. Im even wearing a light pink sweater.

I enjoyed a better slog because of the cooler temp. Only stopped three times. Mr xs tomato plants are ripe now so after i enjoyed my MDR of veggies. They're tiny ones. There were also way too many bees going after this ground cover plant that's gone to seed. I told mr x i wanted to cut it. To reach into the cage on the side you have to step onto the plant. The bees are down there and i was afraid they'd fly up under my shorts. I felt something and a bee was on my foot. Anyway mr x said he would cut it tomorrow. This is how we work. I rarely ask him to do stuff. Ill say im going to do it and many times he does it.

So, that's all the news that's fit to print. Im watching a 30s flick about a newspaper office that hired a Jerry as editor. They thought they'd be getting a man. They were wrong.

Time for some garlic triscuits. Night!

Just starting off my party with a frosty mug of A & W Ensure. Yum. Turned on a dana winner concert. Fans on. Fireworks have ceased.

After two days off i returned to slogsworth track. I was able to wear my crop. Still had to stop four times in an hour. It's the pervasive, suffocating heat. So when i saw a high of 69• tomorrow i was tempted. Im going to slog again. Usually i like a day off. I have things to do. Places to go. People to see. But 69• member when i was bemoaning the cold? Now ive flipped the pink pancake over and the heat is my adversary. Im getting weird tan marks on my back. Looks like an X from the crop top. Then i have strap marks. And i baste myself with spf.

My fav spf scent is ocean potion. It smells like orange. I realized that i don't apply it on palms of hands. So when slogging i have to keep hand turned down. If i put it on palms, i wouldn't be able to get out of the door.

Finished the sugary sweet fauntleroy movie. Today's was a 1947 mystery with bones from star trek. They were calling him kid. He played a 24 yr old in movie. Pretty good movie too.

Construction has started back up. That house across the street has 4 trucks attending to it. One parked in front of our house. At 4:55 p.m. they all left. I was watching for an Amazon package.

I did write the scissors review. Gave them 4 stars. Said, these scissors are beautiful. However the outer coating is fragile because even with the sheath and plastic container it arrived nicked.

It was feeding day for Wallace T "I'm Just a Growing Appliance" Washer. It took 3.5 hours instead of the usual 5. What with the heat I'm not wearing heavy clothes. Wally was a bit taken aback but I assured him the clothes were still nutritious and fiber packed.

No Lou dramatics today. The tank refills in about a minute. Shocking.

I'm having a binge worthy day. Maybe it's the fallout from yesterday. Even Mr x commented I'm pigging out on carbs. And he opened the Ernie keebler. And it was delicious of course. I had 3 I think. And these hadn't shrunk. I may not be able to wear my crop top tomorrow. If it looks like I've swallowed a small possum, I'll have to pass. Eh, I'll slog it off. And today I mopped bath. Calories in, work out. It's just an energy source.

I've been watching little lord Fauntleroy. 1936. That little boy is extraordinarily charming. He's Heidi's counterpoint. I haven't finished it yet.

On nd they're trying to catch where the fireworks are going off. It is puzzling. It had gotten that even near July 4 you would barely hear them anymore. They planned to stake out a suspected church parking lot and when/if the scofflaws appeared, they would shine their headlights at them. Take that invisible light source, you beast!

Hi mr w! That was very interesting about polly rowles. I went to look her up. She was an attractive woman. She's funny in those commercials. It's so strange the show line of performers. We only know her as inspector 12 but she had totally different persona when younger.

Are we simply our looks? Marilyn monroe was a beauty icon. If alive, she'd be 90+ how do you process something like that? She wouldn't still be beautiful. But was. Is everything Was? I read one of those actresses, joan Crawford, maybe? After her run a photo was taken of her that she disliked. She went into seclusion never to appear in public again. She couldn't reconcile the aging process with what she was.

Oh, i also watched an inspector 12 commercial. Funny!

So, how was your Very Productive Day, dazzy me girl? Well, we had a Loolaplazola situation. The loo wouldn't fill. We got a bowl of brown water. Yes, that ding danged loo was on the fritz again.

I went to trouble shoot ol. It said the fill valve or sewer pipe could be clogged. Wonderful. I was looking up plumber info. I was thinking of just buying some top reviewed loo. I am so sick of Lou's meltdowns. But loos don't seem to be sold by plumbers. They just install them.

I was getting quite stressed but trying to keep cool. Mr x had changed a pump valve before. He mentioned he had a spare. I waited for him to volunteer to change it. And he did. And it worked! Seems pump valve was full of some grit residue. From inside the tank? Don't ask me. My names not Josephine.

It seems to be ok. I went on to do some kitchen chores. And start a new movie which i shall recount in my Next Exciting Installment! See you next week! Same pink cat day! Same pink cat channel!

Mary Elizabeth "Polly" Rowles (January 10, 1914 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – October 7, 2001 in Concord, New Hampshire) was an American actress best known for such films and television series as The Defenders, Sweet Liberty and Power. She also appeared as Vera Charles in the original Broadway production of Auntie Mame (1956–58) with Rosalind Russellin the title role.

Polly Rowles was also known as Inspector 12 from those adorable Hanes underwear commercials from the early 1980s.
    May God rest her soul.

Wow. Stellar celler is only concerned with rust. Or at least only the absence thereof. Loving that customer service disconnect, too.

Warm summery greetings from Whyfore ThereforeVille. A small touristy Shakespearean town in U.S.A. a fan is currently circulating. I am a fan.

Mr x made a trek to Costco. He got me 5 boxes of choc ensure for my nightly shindigs. I had to lug it in and stack it.

Today no slog. Im supposed to do productive things. Yet here i sit sipping Joe and blogging. Well, i will do something. But i feel low energy. Is it the heat? Mr x constant talking to me? When someone talks to you, you have to apportion part of your head to listening n responding. But if you give mr x an inch he'll take a mile. He'll talk for hours. And how is that productive? Going back in his past, his regrets or boasting. Gossip in the news. One must work!

I watched a 1931 murder mystery movie last night with my energizing ensure and teeny tiney honey roasted peanuts. I liked the mansion decor. The ladies long gowns and the men's suits.

I was looking up 30s dresses. But where would i wear such a thing? So i looked at art deco earrings. That's more practical.

Mr x liked the ceramic scissors. Didn't comment about the chip. But why would he scrutinize so closely. You expect a new thing to be new. I think a 4 rating is appropriate. It'd be 5 without the chip. How could i give them a 5 with the chip?

What can i do with low energy? Can't do regular desky. I could update Amazon. They don't provide statements anymore in the packages. So i keep a notebook and have to write the details so when my statement arrives i can reconcile. Im about 3 statements behind. That won't involve too many pink cells im hoping.

I washed a melon and will slice up and put in bag. I can clean out under cafe table. Little spot of cds and phones. That's it. Let's not be too ambitious on low energy day. Ok, after this Joe ill do hair then git er done, son.

Quality control has fallen by the wayside, i fear, my dear mr w. Inspector 14 has fallen asleep at the wheel. Can you imagine somebody sending out a maligned windshield? What if you needed it?

It's a sad, sad state of Whatsville. A sister city of Whoville. A small subsidiary of Seuss Land, U.S.A. no, i bought chipped scissors from Amazon. And yes, was sold as new. And when i wrote seller i didn't ask for anything. Just stated it had chip and would it rust. They simply responded no it won't rust. Didn't pick up the fact it was chipped and shouldn't be. So... if they consider chips acceptable, well, ill let the chips fall as they lay.

I wore the new neon green belt and it worked well. Jake from state farm was out there on an hour plus work call. He's very hyper when he talks so he stutters. My slog was sluggish. Or my slug was sloggish. I had ensure and half pbj. It didn't help. It's either the food or temp. I had to stop four times. Brought out pad and paper to write time i stopped.

Today watched a 1933 movie about an inadvertent foursome. It was very nice. It could've gone many ways, but it took the high way.

Bro sent me some old family pics that i haven't seen in a long time. And some of me i had forgotten. Old pics are very fascinating, if you're into it. I didn't place value on it at the time because i was living it. But it's better than memory sometimes. It's a snapshot of the moment. Haha.

The fireworks are going on now.

Once upon a transaction, I was sold new windshield glass that had a visible fuse line running the length of the glass. When I pointed this out to the installer, he offered me fifty bucks the bill. I opted to wait for new glass to arrive and be reinstalled.

How this imperfect glass made it through the initial quality control check from the manufacturer I will never know. But it certainly shouldn't have been accepted by the car glass company.

amazing as it sounds, i passed the dmv vision test. i was quite apprehensive in days leading up to it. every nite religiously doing the eye exercises. straining, straining to see, imagine, the dinky little letters. when it came time to test, i didnt even falter! i guess i could see the shapes good enough to recognize. mr x came with me. we had a 2.5 hour wait. he started grumbling part way thru the wait.

other day we were at macs. tried their new ice mocha. yum!

then yesterday hung out with bro for 5.5 hrs. he had these dumb rebate cards to redeem and he didnt need anything. so we went to walgreens, 2 cvs, and a tjs. i caught up on my shopping. we hit a macs and i tried the caramel macchiato. even better than the mocha. we got along very well. we had been estranged a long time. but now i suppose i will eventually move closer to him. he lives in san jose. not a place id like to be. maybe i can move nearby on the coast. would like some fog weather.

so i passed my big hurdle. can relax now and get back to normal. have to hire a drywall guy.

just finished a great read. about uber rich ladies and the scam perpetrated against them. a good frothy read. hey, its fall i believe! got bottle of pumpkin spice latte by starbucks. so curious to taste it.

welcome to fall! time to bring out the sweaters.

finally got back here. we had a plumbing event. on labor day mr x noticed water running off front lawn. a water main had broke. a small 2" gush was gushing out. mr x called water company who turned off water. then i called our go to plumber. a solution was to replace pipe to house. however id been wanting to replace the pipes one day. we had no hot water at bathroom sink and cold faucet was dribbling out. i knew it was a matter of time. then. we didnt have hot or warm water in washer. only cold. thats why my wash would take hours. so i decided to kill all birds with one stone. i replaced all pipes with copper. it took a total of 5 days. we had no water for 3 days. first day we used wipey dypes. 2nd day mr x warmed water jugs in sun and we bathed with a gallon of water. i helped mr x wash his hair on back lawn. i viewed the experience like camping. its doable, but im not keen on it. 3 guys were here. all spoke spanish. so i decided to learn spanish on phone app. itd be nice to be able to converse with them.

im doing eye exercises. plan on taking vision test next week. its better not doing close work, which ive done my whole life. reading way too much. better to look at scenery. i think ill continue the eye exercises.

we had really hot temps, then other day first rain of the year! it began with a thousand lightening strikes. scary, and weird for this area. it started brush fire couple towns over. also monsciour ugly was caught on film sliding his grotesquely ugly body under a residents fence. # the outrage

id been watching lovely old films, then the plumbing debacle. i have to bring in a drywall guy to patch up the holes the plumber left. already found my guy thru yelp.

back to school time, but kids already back. when did that start? and no telethon with jerry lewis. he really wanted to hit 100.

its been super hot here. sf broke record. something like 106. we were 107. i was taking 3 showers a day. would sit outside at nite for air, started watching my dvd player. watched, british intelligence, with boris karloff. such an intimidating man. it was a ww1 flick in blk/wh. got bit by mosquitos. its the gift that keeps on giving. next nite sprayed off on.

got couple more weeks for eye exercises then have to take dmv vision test. strangely enough, the pinhole glasses im using seem to help. before i couldnt see without glasses without closing an eye. now im able to read my phone without glasses. of course, i return to glasses asap.

the smoke from oregon and calif fires drifted down here. could smell it slightly. today its a strange totally overcast day, but warm.

your friendly, pink weather girl.

hi izzy! i know what you mean. its fun to read new blogs. kind of like toothpaste. if nothing to read, ill read the tube. tube tops. i thought those were the dumbest things. then my wing went out once and i couldnt finagle a bra. so had to get the tubes. so easy to put on. i have them in colors, of course. fuchsia, lime, orange.

im writing on lappy, my laptop. too onerous to text on my phone.

its been a long, hot summer. i look forward to fall temps when i can don my beloved denim jackets.

izzy, that was interesting telling of what a nuclear stress test is. what is the nuclear part? the dye? it sounds so high tech. nuclear. do you glow now:)

i need to clean my fans. some arent openable. need some kind of thin bristle brush.

a few cities over madame ugly and her spawn were spotted. search partys are out since they came down where schools are. i noticed their looks didnt improve over the summer.

did i mention mr x found a dead rat on back lawn. thankfully he disposed of it. he said it was 17" with tail. # ick

see you in september!

my newest project is trying to buy glasses ol.

last nights movie was a doris day musical. she can really dance. and tap. that is an odd dance move. the guy was doing it on a staircase. itd be kind of neat to suddenly break into a tap dance.

then i started a cary grant and rosallnd russell movie.

i made up 5 packs of indonesian ramen. made oodles of noodles. heard ramen is hot commodity in prisons. ramen wth an egg on top. # breakfast is served

i should try on my cargo shorts again. itll probably be another year till i can wear them. i sure love the pockets. i used to be a tomboy back in my tomcat days. but i grew out of it. i get more favorable responses when i dress ladylike.

We had to replace the water pipe to our house, years ago, when we had our own house. BF and a friend did the work.
A root from a tree had punctured the pipe...so the tree was felled.
The lawn never recovered from the line that had to be dug into it to access the pipe.

I bet its nice to have working water again!

OMG, the smoke from the fires drifted into Colorado so thick that it allowed one to look directly at the sun without seeing spots when looking away!
We could barely make out the shapes of the mountains through the heavy smoke.
When the sun had set and the moon had risen, the moon looked much like the sun had looked...only the sky was dark!
There was also a fire near Steamboat Springs, Colorado that grew from 2 acres to 419 acres in just a few hours...that also contributed to our smoky air.
The elderly and people with health issues are being advised to stay indoors with the doors and windows closed.
Its really kinda scary to see that much smoke in the air!

I'm glad to hear that the eye exercises and the pinhole glasses are working for you! ...I should try something like that since my aging eyes are failing fast...but I am lazy lately...maybe at another time.
