He is a pit bull. Normally their body is pretty consistent in shape. even in puppies. He was shaped kind of like a grown weimerainer(sp?) in puppy form.
I did allow him in a while, but he refuses to compromise with me.(yeah, I know that sounds weird as heck xD) I put him in a medium size storage containerhe stays in, but refuses to vomit it, and does in on the tile. Then I put him in the tub we bath our dogs in, which is basically just a horse feed/water container that we got for the our other two pits. He refuses to stay in that so...yeah...we have to keep him in a container or my mom will go ballistic. x.x he wants in though, but i can't do anything about it. At least he is laying near the only non pit back there, who has shabby chow fur. x.x so hopefully that will keep him warm.
On the brightside, there is no hint of blood in the vomit at all. just pure water with the tint of the pedialyte.
He is also continuing to drink water which is good.
well, right now the vet has put him on antibiotics. so yeah...right now we are hoping it is just that. now if bloated skin and bone state seems to be going down into a very skinny dog state though, so that is good?
Well, we are not sure if it is parvo, that is just the worst it could be. It could be just a virus.
That is why the vet recommended us giving him chicken broth and pedialyte. We weren't told or instructed to do that (the needle) yet. Just keep giving him the pedialyte every 30min to an hour.
Yesterday is when he stopped eating his dog food. He was still eating milkbones. This morning is when the vomiting and diarrhea started. I was at college when that happened. My mom pretty much gave a clear enough message to me though with this: She has only seen my dad cry in front of anyone 3 times in their 20 years together, and this was the 3rd time. :/ So yeah...that is enough to tell me it was pretty bad.
We are to take him to the vet tomorrow if he hasn't perked up, to do further tests. :/
well, right now he is still drinking water on his own, but I wonder if he is only doing that to stop me from forcing pedialyte down his throat. I went out a little while ago and ended having to hunt him down with my older dogs and a flashlight because he decided to wander off into the backyard again. x.x I still think he is vomitting, since every time I pick him up from back there his mouth is damp. He seems to be keeping down the last dosage though, and is also staying on our back porch for the time today. His ears are really cold though.... :/
He still has fight in him, however. The pup wrestles to get out of my grip with the syringe. then goes into zombie mode...
I just hope he is feeling better in the morning, and might be able to eat solid food.
