Okay, I like that idea. :) So... it's like a leech? It leeches off of emotions, but since Jareth's powers are so intertwined with everything else about his psyche, it got some of his powers too, and thus became magically powerful itself?
What would the "evil" be, exactly? Could we make up a name and form for it ourselves?
YES. OMG YES. YES. *Mai partays like there's no tomorrow*
Okay. So next we'll focus on what the evil actually is? Is there actually an evil, or are Jareth's powers just running amok? Maybe at one point Sarah is hurt (emotionally) and thinks that Jareth wanted to forget her on purpose? And then there's a touching scene:
Jareth: *being all sexily sincere* You broke my heart, but I would never want to forget you, Sarah.
Oh, oh, oh, yes! THAT'S AWESOME! How about, like... So you're saying that Jareth knows when Sarah comes to the Labyrinth? And then when he starts forgetting about her, he starts forgetting about how he loved her? And since Sarah and Jareth have to like work together or whatever for the "evil" to be repelled by Jareth's powers, Sarah gets to know him better and see beyond the manipulative jerk who made her run the Labyrinth the first time?
OH YEAH. WE'RE BURNING UP THE FLOOR TONIGHT. Or message thing. Or whatever. :P
So yeah. Now to figure out HOW the "evil" is using time against the Labyrinth. Is it causing some sections to not even exist? Like... The Bog of Stench would never have existed? And since Jareth IS the Labyrinth or whatever, he's the only one who's affected by this and like doesn't remember things, or things that are associated with them?
OMG. What if, as the Labyrinth goes out of time and Jareth forgets, he starts forgetting Sarah, too?
Ummm... No, I was thinking like. Wait. Yes! The "evil" could have been waiting to take over\destroy the Labyrinth for a long time, but Jareth's powers kept it at bay. Then when Jareth started getting depressed because Sarah refused him, he started getting negligent and the "evil" could have been able to latch on to his powers of manipulating time?
