Well it wouldn't be so strange if the guest picked it up and asked the hotel staff to send Andy specifically to his room, explaining to them that he'd found something that belonged to him.

It's much less odd, and it's a safe place to meet someone, at work where everyone knows he's there. Basically same thing, different meeting place
