I don't know too much about Chinese but I can see how the different tones would make it extremely different for foreigners to learn. And all the different dialects. T_T

Yeah, that's true. Tone is sometimes hard to pick up on even for people who don't have Aspergers. ^^; Japanese doesn't use tone in their language like Chinese does, right? Like in Chinese you can say two words that are the same but at a higher or lower pitch the meaning of the word can be completely different.

There's so much subtlety in the Japanese language that we don't have in English.

LOL, I won't have him say anything then. Almost done. I haven't heard of shishou before but I know of the other ones.

I looked on Wikipedia a while back and there are sooo many honorifics if you include the ones for professions and that, it's all very fascinating.

Ah, I didn't know about it's use between friends, that's pretty cool. What about chan? I can't remember very much about that one...
