Ooh.... i read a series a little while ago about these shifters who the males needed to mate to keep hold of their humanity, and the females to release their wolf,... an accident as a baby left one halfblood stuck in his human form until he first mated with his truemate.... maybe something like that?
I figure wolf could be a bit older than Red... not much though. We could have something develop between wolf and red eventually, perhaps...
i figured woodsman could be a bit older than both, and star showing an interest in red. Red keeps playing down the advances, never outright rejecting the woodsman, but not, in his mind, giving enough that could be seen as leading him on either. Finally woodsman gets sick of all this beating around the bush, tries forcing himself on red, wolf intervenes...
woodsman still wont take no for an answer. Lures red away from rhe village-something about her granny being ill or injured or w/e., then tries forcing himself on red again, getting further this time before wolf finds them, wnds up killing/maiming woodsman.
...perhaps we could pull in a bit of crossdressing on reds part? That be why woodsman shows interest in him, and only reds parents and wolf know the truth?
