Anna smiled as she turned her head to kiss his palm just before placing her hand in his and standing. She noticed the shiver in his hand and her smile faded, it was replaced by one of concern. "Are you alright? Y... you're shaking." She said, shifting her weight back and forth and raising onto her toes. She had forgotten her boots back at the tavern and her feet were cold. "I think you're right. We need to get back. I'm finally warmer but that won't last long. And you look like you're freezing." |
He nodded slightly. "I'm fine....Just a little cold." His eyes traveled the length of her body as she shifted back and forth and raised on her toes. Her feet were bare, he frowned. There was no way she could walk that. Her feet would be frostbitten by the time they got back to the tavern. He reached out for her, with both arms and rather quickly he had picked her up, bending to slide one arm under her legs and the other arm went around her back. 'Princess-style'.
He started walking in the direction of the Tavern, holding her close and tight. Her body heat would help to keep him a bit warm as well. He kissed her forhead. "You can't walk in the snow without shoes...it's dangerous for your feet." |
She smiled as he picked her up. His sudden movements didn't startle her. Resting her head against his shoulder she snuggled up against his chest. "My feet would be fine..." She argued but made no move to try and get down. She slid a single hand into his shirt, her warm palm pressed against his cool skin. "I'm more worried about you... you feel like an icecube." Her voice was worried. |
"I'm fine...my body isn't quite as cold as it was when I first entered the Tavern. I know my limits...well..most of them, anyway." He grinned at her, happy that she didn't really argue and jump down from his arms. He liked holding her, having her so close to him that he could nearly feel her own heartbeat. His grin turned into a content smile as he moved quickly through the forest and back towards the Tavern.
As much as he might want to stay out there with her in his arms, he knew that they both needed to be inside a warm building. He had shivered slightly when her warm hand pressed against skin, but it was a welcomed touch. |
As fast as they'd made it to the clearing, the trip back wasn't much longer. It wasn't long before Anna could make out the shape of the huge tavern through the trees. She sighed they drew nearer to it. Queegle would know, even if no one else did, and she wasn't looking forward to facing the small fiend. He wouldn't be happy about things at all. She ruefully smiled and rolled her eyes. "Queegle is going to kill us." She said simply. ((Stupid headache... giving me a slight case of writers block. Be back soon)) |
][Hope you feel better soon.][
He was glad, nearly relieved when the lights of the Tavern came into view, and then after the lights came the entire building. His pace seemed to quicken once the building was within sight. Valen shook his head slightly, "Don't worry. I'll protect you from the fluff ball's wrath." He winked at her. There they were, before the door. She was in his arms, so he couldn't reach out and turn the knob..he looked at it with narrowed eyes and the door opened itself, allowing them entrance. Once he had stepped over the threshold the door closed itself. Then he was racing through the Tavern, up the stairs and to the room they had used earlier, the door closing rather hurriedly but quietly behind him. He laid her down gently on the bed and climbed in next to her. Burying himself beneath the covers. He had moved quickly, in hopes to avoid Queegle. Though he knew they probably wouldn't be able to avoid the ferret for long, if at all. |
((Sorry. Mum called and is bein' bitchy. Says she doesn't want me staying at dads alone anymore. [I have been for the past week]She'c coming to get me soon so I won't be online anymore today. Tomorrow I will be though. :/ ))

Shnorzt appeared in a slight cloud of dark matter, tense at first glance as she remembered to retract her claws as she landed, her tail tenatively swaying to and fro. Usually the fact that she hadn't gone skidding across the floor of the tavern would have excited her admirably, but rather she relaxed somberly and sulked her way to the long-dead fire, scowling slightly at its lack of warmth. With an inaudible sigh she nudged some of the smaller branches of kindling and such near the place into the fire and then blew lightly on them. Rather then breath, a soft green flame emitted and lit the wood which began to blaze almost instantly. Satisfied, save the taste of potassium in her mouth, she curled up on a nearby chaise and buried herself somewhat in a throw. She then settled with staring bitterly into the fire she had lit. |
Still sitting in the window sill downstairs, Queegle glared off into space. His mind probed the tavern looking for his friend. Upon finding her, or rather sensing her mind, he immediately pushed so hard he pushed his way past her mental block. "Stupid stupid stupid girl! Do you realize what you've done?! Do you realize that you've just... slept! with a demon?! Gah! How am I supposed to keep you safe if you..." He started to ramble, Anna's mental replies not being able to disrupt his tirade. At first she listened, feeling slightly regretful under his reprimand. "It was a reprehensible act! You ought to be ashamed ...." He continued. Finally she'd had enough. Her face hardened visibly, the happy, content smile left her features to be replaced by an angry one. Her eyes flashed dangerously. "Queegle stop it now!" She slammed her mind so hard that the little figure in it opened his eyes wide and pawed at his jaws. "You have NO right to do this. Now come up here where we can talk like we shou...." She was interrupted by a yawn. "Where we can talk like we should." She finished the anger sliding from her features. Framed against the sun setting in the window, Queegles features softened also. He realized she was tired and sighed, his anger ebbing just a bit. Jumping from his window seat he landed and immediately trotted across the floor, back bunched as he did so. "..." Trying to speak in her mind but still unable to do so from her mental block he gave up and made his way to the room. Not wanting to use his telekenesis he stopped outside the door. Scratching at the wood surface he did his own version of knocking. Shallow marks appeared in the beautiful door. "Hope Sinead isn't angry at me for that..." Outloud he squeaked as loudly as his tiny body could manage. |
Valen frowned abit, bundled under the blankets as he was, but still watching Anna. He bit down on his bottom lip as he watched her expressions change. It was apparent to him that the ferret was speaking to her..or rather..making her angry. His eyes narrowed slightly and he scowled just a bit. He was silent, just watching her expressions carefully.
When he was just about to suspect that the silent conversation was over, he heard scratching at the door. He frowned at the door, or rather, at what he knew was on the other side of it. His gaze drifting back to Anna. "Does this mean our alone time is over?" He did smile softly at her, sitting up in the bed, but still keeping the blankets tightly around him. He was still cold, but he would warm up soon. |
Before replying, though not cold, Anna maneuvered herself under the blankets, She cuddled up to Valen's chest. Her face scrunched up like a kittens she moved one arm over his chest and hugged herself close. "Can you open the door? He's getting on my nerves." Her voice had just a spark of sulk in it. She was trying not to act childish and petty about it. She was completely under the covers, talking into his chest. Queegle continued to scratch. His marks on the wood getting deeper and more numerous every second he stood outside. |
"Such a troublesome friend you have.." He remarked with a smile in his voice as he wrapped his arms around her. Holding her close and tight as she snuggled against his chest. With a slight sigh, he caused the door to open. The air had shimmered around the door knob and the door opened just barely wide enough for Queegle to fit his small frame through. He would wait until Queegle squeezed through before closing the door again.
He laid back in the bed, tired of sitting up like he was. Pulling Anna with him so she wouldn't have to leave her comfortable position against his chest. One hand rested lightly on her back and the other gently toyed with her hair some. |
With a wince, Shnorzt glanced over to where she hadn't been aware, Queegle lounged. The mental attack of his on what she assumed was his comrade stung even her mental plane. She watched him leave the room and head upstairs, most likely to their room, and then re-settled, shaking her head slightly and causing one ear to fall over her eye. She sighed and didn't even bother to move it but rather curled back up amongst her burrow of blanket and tried to fall asleep. OoC: Yay, short short post... |
