Magentata~
wow... now that is over the board! O__O
Is there such laws that imperial system is banned?

Spooky Pookie 02-22-2013 02:35 PM

Llonka; I'm a care assistant. I help them with. Basically all their personal care, washing, dressing, eating, drinking, that kind of thing.

Xuv; it's the same pay rate here for nights as it is for days. But I think it's supposed to be higher because of "unsociable hours."

Amane 02-22-2013 02:35 PM

I'm terrible at the metric system and can somewhat estimate what Celsius temperatures are in Fahrenheit. I can't give any exact numbers, but I do know that 40°C is hot~

Goodnight all.
And if I get back and have less than 2 prizes to give away, i'm going to be in a very, very unhappy mood.

Have a nice sleep.

Metric is for the most part, nice and simple.
When there becomes another 0 on the end, go up to the next sale of measurement.

I think not because of unsociable hours, but because of more prone to health problems... against the biological clock.

Oh come on, it's only 60 or so pages you all need to get.

Amane 02-22-2013 02:38 PM

@Anarchy: I know that, but I can't visualize, say, 20 meters. Not even one.

It is easy to know celcius, just don't think it in conversion.
0C, exact temperature from water to ice.
100C, boiling temperature, from water to air/gas.

KatMagenta 02-22-2013 02:39 PM

It's complicated how the law works but they were essentially fined under the Weights and Measures Act because their scales couldn't be passed by an inspector since they used imperial measurements. They started a campaign under the name 'Metric Martyrs'.

As an aside, I went to school with the nephew of the original defendant.

Sleepy Anarchy 02-22-2013 02:40 PM

I am a timid timid little girl...
I am a worrier too, what if this and what if that.

Go rest if you are so tired.

KatMagenta 02-22-2013 02:42 PM

Night Sleepy!

I'm used to converting temperatures into Kelvin to shove them into equations.

Metric Martyrs... I don't seem to get the meaning of Martyrs...

Amane 02-22-2013 02:43 PM

@Xuv: That I also know. We're taught that much in school. 0°C = 32°F and 100°C = 212°F~ I remember a little bit of teaching in elementary school on a formula to convert between the two exactly, but I don't quite remember it.

A martyr is someone who gets killed under the law for their beliefs, yes? Usually associated with religion.

*claps* Impressive.
Now what is this kelvin temperature? DX
I heard of it, but I don't know where it is use.
I read about it when I am studying my Lighting class.

Remember the conversion?
I don't even care to know that.
and I am in the business of scale matters. I will have a 'bridge' between us consultant with the imperial workers. x.x

I scared everyone away!!! T__T

Amane 02-22-2013 02:48 PM

Where IS Kelvin used? It always looks like so much. XD

xuvrette 02-22-2013 02:50 PM

I also don't know the difference between watts and volt.

KatMagenta 02-22-2013 02:50 PM

Kelvin is a temperature scale where 0 K is absolute zero, where thermal movement stops. 0°C is 273 K. I would mostly use it for thermodynamics, if you see T in an equation it probably means temperature in Kelvin.

Another aside, the River Kelvin runs along past the bottom of my street.

xuvrette 02-22-2013 02:55 PM

O__O Underground river you mean?

Amane 02-22-2013 02:55 PM

I only need 20 more posts. Yay. :D

xuvrette 02-22-2013 02:58 PM

... lol. You are counting down like that! XD
Just post a lot, then you will reach it without knowing~

Velvet 02-22-2013 02:59 PM

*Strolls in*

I'm watching Full Metal Panic. <3

xuvrette 02-22-2013 03:00 PM
