Colbie woke when Maya came into her room. "What is it?" she asked, her voice still a little muffled from sleep. But she looked mostly awake.

Maya closed the door quietly and padded over, climbing onto the bed next to Colbie.

"Sorry, it's early," she murmured. "But I couldn't wait." She grinned. "The baby is kicking. I noticed it about an hour ago."

"Already?" Colbie smiled a bit. "Feisty little one. That's good; hopefully he or she will be strong." She adjusted a pillow behind Maya to help her get more comfortable.

"It feels all... fluttery," Maya said as she got comfortable. One hand rubbed her belly absently, and she smiled. "It's moving right now."

Colbie smiled at that. "You look pleased," she murmured, pushing herself upright.

"I think I am," Maya replied, settling a bit closer to Colbie. "I don't-- I've thought about things, and I want this child to grow up different than I did." She was quiet for a moment. "I think... I wasn't raised the way normal people are. I want to raise the little one right." She looked down at her belly. "I'm glad I get to keep the baby, so that I can try to do that."

Colbie considered that for a few moments before she nodded. New mission parameters had been accepted. "We'll figure it out," she agreed. "The baby will want for nothing."

"Good," Maya murmured. She smiled when she felt the little flutters again. "And we know the little one will be strong. Nothing less than the strongest genes would have been accepted."

"True." Colbie settled closer to her. "How are you feeling? Any nausea? Discomfort?"

"Nothing more than usual," Maya said. She paused for a moment. "My hips and back ache. It's hard to get really comfortable now."

"Hmm. Alright." Colbie frowned. "We may be able to help with some of that with stretches. I will do more research in the morning." Not that she hadn't done a ton already.

"Alright," Maya said. She covered a yawn, and settled in next to Colbie. "Do you mind if I stay?"

Colbie snorted quietly and pulled the blankets up over her too.

"Get some rest," she murmured. "Wake me if you need anything else."

"I will," Maya murmured as she snuggled in. She could still feel the little flutters in her belly, and she smiled just a bit as she got comfortable enough to drift off.

By the next morning, Colbie was looking up ways to help out Maya with the pain and discomfort, sitting in the kitchen drinking her morning coffee. She still looked up from her research any time anyone came in or out, but she didn't mind the people so much now.

Maya padded down to the kitchen a little while after Colbie, heading over to make herself some tea. She sighed a bit as she sat down at the table and waited for her tea to steep.

"Morning," Steve said to the two, glancing at them and poking the coffee machine. They'd gotten friendlier, though he would say they weren't necessarily comfortable with him. Although he had noticed Bucky tended to put Colbie at ease more, which was interesting.

Colbie grunted her acknowledgement of him, flicking through the tablet in front of her for more information.

Maya gave him a cautious nod, watching him move around the kitchen. So far, he'd been nothing but polite to them, and she was sort of starting to like him.

"Good morning," she said quietly.

"Any plans today?" Steve asked, glancing at the two of them. Sometimes they stayed in the common areas all day, sometimes they went all over the place. Not that he minded either way, but he liked to keep an eye on them.

Maya shook her head a bit.

"No," she said softly. "Just... relaxing." She took a sip of her tea once it was done steeping and gave a soft sigh.

Steve nodded. That was a good enough answer.

"I can recommend a few good movies if you'd like."

"Movies...?" Maya asked, blinking. "I've... never seen a real movie before." Because no, at this point, she didn't consider any of the films she'd been shown by Hydra to be 'movies.'

"I think we should fix that," Steve said, watching her. "If you want. They're fun."

Maya considered that for a moment, and then glanced at Colbie for permission. She wasn't entirely sure what to do in this situation.

Colbie considered for a moment before she nodded her consent. That was safe enough.
