I've only ever lived in houses too. I'm currently waiting for my boy's roommates to move out so I can move into that house with him. It's owned by a family friend of ours.

Originally, my sister and three others were renting it. My sister, her ex-boyfriend, and the girl who's currently living there's ex moved out. She and her current boyfriend are currently living there with my boyfriend. Those two have been saving to move out and hopefully do so soon before my boyfriend kills them...or something XD

Sometimes it was fun to wait for my parents to pick me up there. The school bus didn't come close to our house so we got on the bus close to there house & walked to their house in the afternoons & waited to get picked up. We did that almost the entire time I was in elementary school.
Sometimes his sister would have me in war paint when my mom came to get us, other times he would decide that he needed to practice some of his wrestling moves & used me as his dummy.
