I haaaate the smell of weed. It honestly, SERIOUSLY, makes me sick. I feel like I have to throw up any and every time I smell it. No good.

Eh, still. That's horrible. It's not YOUR fault you were born. Her son had a little something to do with that. I don't understand people who take shit out on their children/grandchildren. Especially saying stuff like how they shouldn't exist in the first place. I've dealt with my fair deal of that kind of crap, and I know for a fact I would never treat Cupcake like that. I'm not going to ever become my parents. In fact, Zombie and I are going to use a non-spanking form of discipline because of how I was raised. I was beaten repeatedly as a child and as I grew up it turned into punching and smashing my head or body into shit. My daughter will be disciplined in a non-violent way (this includes no screaming, which causes emotional and mental trauma all on it's own). If Zombie hits her, ever, I'll leave (with my kid). I don't care if it's a smack on the bum or otherwise. It's NOT going to happen.

I don't know, smacking a kids hand when they're about to touch something that could hurt them is fine, though grabbing their hand is better.

i wouldn't touch em at all they need to learn that lesson themselves.

i strongly believe in a whap on the butt or smack on the hand if the child is being a real asshole. worked for me and i'm not screwed up because of it.

There's no need to smack. Like you said, grabbing their hand is better. I knew a girl once who whipped her two year old for spilling her makeup on the floor and some of it broke. Well, if you had put your stuff away, it wouldn't have happened. The kid was two for crying out loud, didn't know any better. Plus, I think at a young age, kids don't know WHY you're spanking/slapping them. They just know that you're doing it. Which isn't a good thing.

I also believe in baby/kid proofing and redirection.

I get yelled at all the time.
