Maybe the ditzy girls thing is just 'cause we're used to the western Miss Independent view? I went back to china last year and most of the girls there are 'kawaii desu' and creepily cute...even some adults who are close to 30 *shivers. |

Yeah! That's him, part of his appeal is that he wasn't as weirded out by Run being Satan's son as the others. And his lazy attitude is +1 too I know right? It's like the author's got her on a permanent 'I am so useless' angst trip. I always thought that Rin's relationship with Shirou should have been developed more, when he died it was a little meh. @Aerinn hoho~ thanks for reminding me, though I still always thought he would be more of a fist fight than a gun fight kind of dude. Even though he's got that image, his attention span is probably 1000x mine, the only things I've memorized is physics formulas *ahem. |
I want Shima to get some sort of skill later on. Right now he just seems to be a foil to Konekomaru.
I also personally want there to be some way of having Rin confront Father Fujimoto. Like, be it through a dream, or a spirit channeling, or temporary resurrection, etc. I thought Father Fujimoto was really really cool~ He looks pretty good and kick-butt for a 51-year-old. And yeah, BonBon (haha, my friend and I call him that) can memorize pretty well. I memorized the first 10 elements on the periodic table. And a paragraph from a Shakespeare play. That's about it. :sweat: |
That's true, he should get more of a backstory/personality, maybe a reason for his laid back attitude.
The same thing is going on with Shiemi and Izumo. Yeah yeah, I totally want to see more of him, got rid of such an awesome character too soon. He should have at least gotten a epic fight scene before he bit the dust. wow, I thought he was only in his 30's when I first saw him, he's probably healthier than I am too. Is it just me or does Shura remind you of Yoko from Gurenn Lagann? |
Well, we know that Shima's a youngest child, with a bunch of older brothers. Since he never really had any responsibilities because his brothers got it instead, he was basically home-free. I think. That could explain his laid-back attitude.
I'm really interested in Izumo's background. Her reason for becoming an Exorcist, her familiars, her "shrine maiden" mother... it sounds very beefy. I feel like I know enough about Shiemi... Yesyesyesyes. :eager: I love Fujimoto's character~ I want him to come back. And yes, he is 51 (was, rather). YOU'RE RIGHT I THOUGHT THE SAME THING. Shura is like... Yoko with alcohol. And tattoos. :yes: |

As soon as Shiemi was revealed to be the shy naive girl I totally lost interest. Izumo is really quite mysterious, we got like a page's worth of look into her reason? Some dark room with blood or something, it's been there done that in terms of manga plots, but it'll be interesting to know anyways. For a Paladin he died rather quickly, I was expecting a bit more than that, or at least a bit more of a struggle for Satan to possess him. Although what Rin said to him would have been hurtful. More of Angel couldn't hurt either :9 even if he is a bit of an ass. Ah yoko fan service, it's expected, but awkward for me to read about. At least Shura wears pants. I like her character much more independent and less angst. |

@ Ahmelo : Yesss, remembered a name! Fujimoto was awesomely epic :). If you ask me, Angel wouldn't be able to last as long as Fujimoto did against Satan... If satan could even posses him! I feel like there may be a character development/exploration for Angel, and maybe he isn't such a douche. But it's hard to see at the moment. Right now I'm very tempted to cut his hair, throw mud on his customized Exorcist coat, and feed him expired food. :angry: But you bring up a good point, Wher! I never thought of it, but if Angel's a Paladin it's possible that Satan could use him as a vessel. :O |
