I'm not the best poet but I try when I have a good theme Flight of the Hummybird By Gizzie There's a legend told around these parts About a special rare little bird Some say it's false and others say true There's many a tale or so I have heard I for one know the truth to the tale For I know just where she is found A little cottage nestled by trees Flowers planted and critters run around This is the home of a Gizzie, that's me I see her flutter around my window sill Perhaps today I'll get a closer view Sits like a ninja, be really still I see her watching from the trees She flys on down, hovers in my space With wings the most precious teal So soft and airy brushes my face She stays real close as though I'm not real Smells of lavender and honey dew Just as quickly as she appeared Flys on off our moment is through No one has seen her but they wanna believe The legend and stories about her are true I sit and sigh and I know I'm lucky For no one but me has experienced the beautiful view |
