I think your wedding should be your wedding. >.> Not what everyone else wants it to be.

Clockwork Lime 01-06-2010 05:34 PM

I feel like the only girl in the world who DOESN'T have a diamond engagement ring sometimes...Mine's garnet. http://photos-a.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-...62635_2315.jpg

Ivvy 01-06-2010 05:37 PM

OOOhh how pretty. :) Mine is Diamond but its not huge and heavy. It has a medium sized stone in the middle and then three small stones on either side that make hearts. My fiance and I met on the 7th of November about 6 years ago. :)

Clockwork Lime 01-06-2010 05:37 PM

Pics? I love the idea of that design--it's cute!

Ivvy 01-06-2010 05:40 PM

I don't have any pics right now. I have to get my camera fixed it got a gear broken in the zoom so I have it in the kodak shop. >.< When I get to a digi camera I will get one taken and uploaded.

Clockwork Lime 01-06-2010 05:41 PM

Sweet! I can't wait to see it. =D

strange_dreams_512 01-06-2010 05:42 PM

Oh lol mine is cubic zirconium but gonna have the wedding ring be blue topaz : D its my birthstone and guess what! stands for love and fidelity lol.. fitting eh? XD

Ivvy- (= how sweet...

Clockwork- lol you're not the only one but it is pretty common huh

Ivvy 01-06-2010 05:46 PM

@ Clock.. I love yours though its pretty. :)

@ Dreams.. that will be pretty. Our wedding bands are white gold comfort bands so it like a rind in a ring.. they fit so nicely. We are having them engraved as well... we are still deciding on what.. but we have some ideas.

strange_dreams_512 01-06-2010 05:49 PM

Yes yes it's pretty... ((ahh had to stop myself from using Japanese @_@))

Ivvy- lol ya it sounded pretty to me too! x3 most likely on palladium... ne? engravings? hmm ideas like what??

Ivvy 01-06-2010 05:56 PM

Clockwork Lime 01-07-2010 08:17 PM

-dances- We got a second kitty cat!

http://hphotos-snc3.fbcdn.net/hs185....1_821763_n.jpg Isn't she cute?

Cherish 01-07-2010 09:38 PM

She's adorable! What's her name?

And I think your ring is lovely, Clockwork.
Mine isn't a flashy, huge diamond either. Mine actually looks kind of gumball-machine, but I like it.

http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/a...erish/ring.png

It's amethyst. It only cost about £40, I think.
The husby and I were students when we got engaged, and we couldn't afford anything else.

He's offered to buy me a "proper" ring now we can afford to, but I don't want one. It reminds me of how far we've come, and everything we've been through together.

Clockwork Lime 01-07-2010 10:17 PM

Cherish, yours is gorgeous! I don't think it looks like a gumball machine ring at all!

The kitty's name is Goldie, although it's not a fitting name at all. We're trying to come up with a good name for her.

strange_dreams_512 01-08-2010 12:31 AM

Clockwork- What is that cat's personality like so far? We have a cat that looks similar but more grayish and we named her Precious : 3

Cherish- its a simple beauty and yes it is good that it reminds you of that : D very good, nice nice XD <3

Clockwork Lime 01-08-2010 04:08 PM

She's very sweet; kind of shy, though. She loves to snuggle, hehe. It's nice to have a kitty who likes being around people.

Fina Lee 01-08-2010 04:14 PM

With that kind of color green, to use another color in that range would be clash-y (if not a bit trashy. :/).
Use white or black, with the accents being the blue you want. That way the bridesmaids gowns won't distract from yours. The wedding is supposed to revolve around the beauty of the bride. Making their dresses less-than-standing-out will be GOOD. :)
God bless and I hope everything goes without any problems! :D

Clockwork Lime 01-08-2010 04:42 PM

My Matron of Honor has a blue cocktail-length dress she'd like to use, so I think we're going to go with some sort of black accent for hers. For the bridesmaids, I think we're going with a black dress with green or blue accents. :) Thanks for the feedback!

strange_dreams_512 01-08-2010 04:44 PM

Clockwork- first thing that came to mind was kumo which is bear in Japanese lol.. xD but adding chan would make it sweeter lol but then i just thought of a fuzzy butterfly o.O uhh lol i think i didn't get much sleep or else messages are transmitting through my synapses super quickly before I can make any sense of them they change xD

Clockwork Lime 01-08-2010 04:47 PM

HAHA, it took me a minute to figure out what you meant! Whoa, I'm out of it, too. That's a cute name, but neither of us speak or are into Japanese-type things. Thanks for the suggestion, though! I think we should call her "Gnasher" or something 'cos she likes to gnaw on my fingers...x.x

kid-kokopelli 01-09-2010 06:36 AM

Alrighty. Imma just say this now. I'm an art major and I'm a stippler about coordinating colors. If your gown is going to be green, (and when you say green I imagine a deep/dark lush green) theses are the colors I imaging first off; a brushed/faded bronze color OR a dark silver. Either one but not both. The first one looks natural and elegant while the second one looks more classy and sophisticated.

If you want to go with the peacock blue BM dresses, I say that would be fine as long as the trim matches the scheme. So if you go with Green and bronze, you could have blue dresses with bronze trim. And the same with the dark silver.
Just don't use bronze and silver though. Just use one or the other. Otherwise you'll overwhelm the color palette.

In conclusion:
Green, blue, brushed bronze
or
Green, blue, dark silver

This is just my opinion of course. The decision is up to you. As a visual art major however, I believe those color palettes will work best. Especially for a peacock color theme.

Clockwork Lime 01-09-2010 07:19 AM

I think what I'm going to go with is green, blue, and black, because my bridesmaids are all fairly light-skinned and metallics tend to overwhelm them (going from what I've seen and what they've told me). Thanks for the advice!

The Wandering Poet 01-09-2010 09:25 AM

XD I see my fiance has already posted... lol *pokes strange_dreams_512*

Hmm I think maybe a yellow kinda like honey would match the green pretty nicely =)
Maybe the best thing to do is to observe the beautiful colors of the feather itself:
http://peacockwedding.files.wordpres...eacock-eye.jpg
I think all the colors inside go quite nicely with the green ^^

strange_dreams_512 01-09-2010 12:25 PM

Kaze- *pokes back* : 3 hihi ..Lol you shoulda seen my face when i saw that you posted XD lol!!

Clockwork- hmm question...is there a certain effect you were also hoping to get with a specific fabric? Just curious.. if not or you don't know yet that's fine too : p
