He listened to their talking as he walked away from the group. Such foolish and naive people. He sighed, shaking his head slightly. They were going to end up getting themselves killed, if they were in his land, they would already be dead. The thought ammused him a bit, as he thought back of his home in the darker regions of the world. It was not a good place for such naiveness, or foolishness. Demons were a dark breed, and they would do whatever they wanted or needed, and took pleasure in killing. It was slightly disgusting to him, even if he was a demon himself. He sighed a bit once more, it was hard making a name for yourself when you were a demon, most people were stereotypical when it came to the race, and wanted nothing to do with them or did not trust them. He did not blame them, many demons did not deserve the trust of others, and would not hesitate to betray it by any means. He shakes his head, at times he was embarrased to call himself a demon, but it would have to do, since he could not change who he was. He did have control over his life and destiny, and he would make his own name for himself, and prove those kind of people wrong. |
Saito snuck away as the group talked. He was curious about the demon that was walking away. He moves swiftly through the trees, not really hiding himself but not making himself noticeable. Soon they were a decent ways away from the group. Hey, Demon. He called out sternly. Saito rested his hand on his rapier, in case the demon chose to lash out. Its unique for a demon to pass up an opportunity like that. Two helpless young women, a young boy, and well, someone who acted like a bumbling fool. He laughed a bit when he referred to himself. Most would have taken the easy prey. Saito studied the Demon. The way he walked and how he held himself. However, you seem to not be your average Demon. You have a bit of blue blood in you, dont you?

Dusk paused, as the male called out to him. A slight sigh escaped from his lips as the other spoke. "And yet you are foolish enough to sneak off without a word to your companions after a demon" he turns to face the other. "As for my bloodline, what does it matter to you?" he raises an eyebrow, his eyes sliding over the other, studying him. The male looked weak and frail to him, so if anything he would be an easy opponent, not one really worth his time. He walked over without hesitation, and did not stop until he had backed the other up to a tree. His hand cups the other male's chin, lifting his face as he leans in, studying his eyes. They seemed clear and light, the other was a bit naive he guessed, not broken down by the hard reality and world that laid around them. He had probrably never been outside his home or anything until now. Most other races thought it was safer to stay in their own land, and were oblivious to other things outside of it. He found it foolish, but rather ammusing at the same time. His eyes slide down him once more, more in a way of taking in his stature, but his gaze was piercing and was thought to see through even the toughest opponents. He did not think the other was much of a threat before, and the second look over confirmed it. He looked back up to his eyes, and spoke once more "what is it you want?" |
Head turning quickly at the sound of Hikari's voice, the boy listens closely to what she says, hating the truth in it. "Why not eradicate the bad ones? I mean, it is quite obvious that the majority of the pain and suffering comes from the human realm. They are weak minded and easily listens to the twisted words of demons...." Yuuichi trails off and squeaks a little once he notices Hikari's eyes. "Daemon.....but much better at hiding that fact." Recoiling in a bit of fear, he leans closer to Eva, his legs trembling. He hugs Eva a bit tightly, as he tries to hide, not caring that he just met her.

Eva wasn’t sure what to make of this group, one had mentioned that the other girl was a daemon and she wasn’t bothered by this, she didn’t appreciate the comments of humans. She wasn’t about to give up the info about being a half-blood, even if her ears gave it away. She fought the urge to squeak at being hugged a bit too tightly for comfort. She kept her tone matter-of-fact to hide the emotional connection for her. “Human’s aren’t the only ones to blame, and not all are so easily swayed, a few bad apples may spoil the batch but you shouldn’t judge the many by the actions of the few.” She shrugged before turning to him. “You’re holding me a bit tight, it’s beginning to hurt.” She wasn’t use to such physical contact so it wasn’t just slightly painful but very awkward, she didn’t know whether to hug him back or just stand there, obviously she had done the latter.

Letting go completely of Eva, Yuuichi looks up at her, his one blue eye having a penetrating gaze. Thinking for a moment, he looks back to where the Elvin man had found him and gets a worried expression on his face. "M-My bag....its gone." The boy drops to his knees, unsure of what to do or where he lost it. He reaches up tentatively towards Eva's hand, fear showing in his eyes and face. "But my master...she told me that humans are weak. Even the books she gave me said so. If they weren't then how did the stranger sway the former human king so easily?" He shivers a bit as he looks back towards Hikari, the girl becoming a terror made real for him. All the boy knows of demons being what he was taught and what he has read, and the aura of that one not shedding any light for him to believe any differently.

Hikari's gaze turned sad."I am not full demon,you know.Only half." She said softly,now sounding more tired than challenging."I am Fae,and I was raised Fae.I have no knowledge of my father,who was demon,so you have no need to fear me for that.If you were to fear me,then fear me for my Fae heritage,as I am from a proud bloodline of protectors and warriors." She said,sounding just a little proud at the last bit."And I would never,ever dishonor my family or myself so much as to harm one who was recently wounded."

Dont mistake them as my companions. They are only acquaintances. Saito said cooly. The demon walked towards him, backing himg against the tree. He tightened his grip on the hilt of his rapier. He pulled powerful words from within and held them in his throat. He could feel the demon sising him up but he just stood there firmly. Saito may not seem like much but he could definately hold his own. His power wasnt in his strength.IInfact he probably wouldnt even tickle this demon before him. But his sword would probably do more than a scratch and the enchantments he has placed on it would even the playing field. Its hard to see but there were runes carved all over the small blade of his rapier. With a whisper he could bring the runes to life. After a moment the demon spoke again. What do I want? You just intrique me. You are a demon that didnt attack two elves, a fairy and a pup. You hold yourself with honor and distinction. And even now, when you realized im probibly little match for you, you still chose to not rip my head off. Im just curious what kind of demon behaves in such a way. Saito smirks a little, curious about how the demon will respond.

"I do as I please" he says simply. "I see no point or gain in taking the lives of those who have neither dome me any harm, or are a match for me" he says. He thought of a phrase his grandfather used to say "strength does not make a worrior, it takes a true worrior to know when to use it, and when to hold." He turns away from the male, having figured their buisiness would be concluded. "I am not for show or for your enjoyment, so if you are looking for a sight or a show, you can go elsewhere" he walked away, not turning back to the other. He sighed, running a hand through his hair, his hand brushed against his horn. They certainly did stand out. He had thought of cutting them off, but just as he grew, they would grow back in time. They had not been cut or trimmed but minorly as he grew up so far, and his mother had always said they had come in nicely. He knew demons who had horns that looked like antlers from some beast you'd find in the mountains, or those who twisted and turned and got stuck on everything. He had learned from a young age to keep himself groomed, and well kept, both for his image as a prince, and for his own safety and benifit. In battle they protected him, and were if needed a good weapon, but if not kept up, they would get in the way and only hold him back. Demons were often asked what their horns were made out of, and there were many answers, depending on the clan you asked, or the demon's racial status. Dusk's horns were made of bone, that grew out from his skull. They were solid and stronger then normal bone however, and grew more like a person's nails, een after the demon themself stopped growing. They were always growing and said to get stronger with each lost. There was something called the shedding, in which a demon with horns lost them for a time, and new ones would grow. Dusk had not experienced this yet, but he was still young. Even though, if he did lose them, he would probrably look more like a dark elf then a demon, his longer black hair and warm tanned skin, along with his more pointed ears. He smiled a bit, his family was odd in their own way, but their old blood dipping came in handy. Blood dipping was a term some demons still used to discribe when a demon mated outside their race, with another, and in turn beared an offspring. His mother had been the offspring of an elf and demon, while his father a demon. So, in truth, the elf had not been wrong when he asked if there was elf in his line. |
She saw his panic and felt sorry for him as he reached for her hand she pulled him to his feet and pet his head once more, apparently this was the sum of her affection but she was trying. “We will find it, if it’s around here,” listening to what he said next she frowned “You shouldn’t rely on books for your views on species and people, the king was a kind man that was why he was swayed, he looked the light in people.” She shrugged it off adding. “If you are to go by books though, the demon should have ripped us apart by now.” Gesturing to where Saito had walked off to, not accurate but vague enough to indicate which demon she was talking about. “Fear is our devouring conquer if we let it consume us, if we fight ti face on, well then it merely becomes our rising grace.” She ran a hand through her hair adjusting the hair piece. “So… what does this bag look like?”

"A daemon is a daemon, no matter how its sliced. At the beginning of the day, part Fae or not, you still have daemon blood running through your veins. Maybe not as much as the other one, but still there. And to refuse to hit a threat when they are down only leads to disaster." As he feels Eva's hand pat his head, Yuuichi's tail unwraps itself from his waist and starts to wag a bit, his earlier fear and anger dissipating. He rubs against Eva's hand affectionately, his longing to be pet starting to fully show. His cheeks start to turn red as he recognizes how much he missed the electrifying feeling it sends through his body when he is petted. "There is someone very close to you that must be human, huh? I've never heard anyone defend them so heavily....But as for all of my understanding being from books and my master, that isn't all of it. The wounds that you and Saito treated....they were caused by humans. How am I supposed to trust something when the first time I met one of its kind, I get attacked by them?" He looks at her pleadingly, using every ounce of will he has to keep from rubbing his head against her hand again.

Hikari looked just plain hurt now."Of course,I understand.What I don't understand is why you were fine with me before you realized I was part demon.Isn't that descrimination?" She asked,her voice wounded."But just to make you feel safer,I suppose I'll go.I apologize for making you afraid." She added,walking away.She decided that she would go and see what the other man was up to with that demon.She entered the area where they were and saw the demon walking away."Saito? I apologize if I have intruded,but I was curious.I have never met a demon before,and I actually have a few questions."

Saito relaxed as the demon walked away and hung his head in shame. it seems he has insulted the demon somehow. He didn't mean to. Most of what Saito knows of the other races he learned from his father. However since leaving home, he has learned most of what is fathers taught him was untrue. With one last effort to reach out Saito called out to the demon. I'm sorry if I offended you. However if I could trouble you whith one more thing. You seem to be very well traveled and I'm looking for a man. From what I've learned he can summon powers from a black dragon. Most say that he is elf, but from the scars he left on my home, he is well talented in the demon arts. I'm sure there haven't been to many elfs that have learned demon magic. Saito clenched his hands into a fist and anger welled up within him. Please any information would be useful. Just thenhe heard a voice from behind. It was the fairy girl from before but he ignored her calls, waiting for the demons answer.

Yuuichi listens to Hikari as she speaks, feeling guilty for his earlier reaction towards her. His tail, ears, and shoulders lower as the guilt takes him. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to offend you....its just. When I realized that you were part daemon, everything my master taught me came to the fore and it was a bit overwhelming." The boy bites his lower lip a bit as he watches her start to walk away, listening to her parting words. "Please forgive me. It won't happen again. I promise." His words come out softly, his throat a bit choked up as he fears another person that he tried to befriend would abandon him. Without thinking, he turns to face Eva after Hikari walked away, hugging her a bit, making sure not to grab her tightly like he had before. "Y-You won't leave me as well will you Lady Eva?" Yuuichi looks at her a bit pleadingly, his eyes starting to well up with tears.

Eva didn’t know what to make of it all, now she was alone with Yuuichi she smiled softly. “I don’t know any humans but perhaps one day I will, if I ever find my father.” She didn’t push him off or pull away from him, when he asked if she was going to leave too she shook her head. “I have nowhere to be in a hurry… so I won’t be leaving any time soon,” She played with a strand of his hair with how close he was to her. She was getting slowly use to him hugging her, she wasn’t about to say that out loud though, instead she muttered. “Let people prove themselves as individuals and not representatives of their species.”

Dusk sighed, and looked back at the other male as he apoligized in his way. When he began to speak of the man, Dusk thought back to a few rumors that had circulated around his home. Many knowledge of what went on around the world made its' way into demon mouths, though that did not mean they did anything about it, or that anyone was brave enough to come ask them about it either. He smiled a bit, it was kind of ammusing that this little one was asking him about it now. So it seemed Dusk had proven himself if even remotely in the other's eyes eh? Well he had no intrest in having to prove himself to anyone. His demon blood was there, yes, but that did not mean he was just like the rest. He was not and would not be a mindless blood lusting fool, and if people could not bother with giving him a chance or getting to know him, then they were not worth his time. Stereotypical things were at the moment, the foundation of much that went on in the lands. It was sad, but very true. He crossed his arms for a moment and thought "I do not listen to most of the rumors within the demon lands, and I have not been back in awhile to learn anything about it." He looks at the other in the eyes "if you want answers, you should head to Silverkeep, there is an elder there who might be able to give you a better understanding of things" he says. With that he turned away once more. |
Hikari looked on as the demon and the elf spoke,making sure to get a good look at the demon.Once she was sure she could remember his face,she turned to leave,seeing as she was being blatantly ignored by both of them.She went back to the kitsune and other elf and saw the boy hugging the girl."I hope I'm not interrupting." She said jokingly,knowing she wasn't."I have a question.Do either of you know where I could find some answers about a certain demon?" She asked,straighforward as always.

The boy nods his head in understanding as he listens to Eva. His ears perk a bit as he listens to Hikari approach. Losing at first, Yuuichi finally fights down the urge to hide from the woman and stands before her, letting go of Eva. "Y-you're not interrupting anything." He moves tentatively towards Hikari and bows before her. "I ask that if possible, you please find it within your capabilities to forgive this one for earlier transgressions. And I may be able to help you, if you pass along the name of the one you seek. I have been taught a considerable amount by my master and there are portions dealing with specific daemons." He stands back up and smiles at Eva. "I will do my best Onee-san."

Eva watched the other girl return, she could tell from her tone she was joking and smiled softly about it. She listened to Yuuichi apologize to the demon and her smile remained, even her eyes were soft. This soft expression didn’t change till he turned and addressed her as Onee-san, her eyes slowly widened in shock. The gold of them shimmering slightly as she stuttered. “On… Onee-san?” she actually even blushed a bit taking it as a compliment to be addressed as such before trying to hide it with her hand and muttering to the demi-fae, demi-demon. “I uh, haven’t met any in my travels and before that I was rather sheltered, I’m sorry I can’t be of help.”

Hikari smiled,and held one hand out for Yuuichi to shake."You are fully forgiven.To be honest,it's not the first time I've gotten that reaction." She said."Now,as to the name of the demon I seek...I only wish I knew.My mother either never knew or never wanted to tell me.I think she didn't want me to go looking for him.I know only that he uses fire,has eyes like mine,and travels quite often.He was in this area around 16 years ago,and apparently caused alot of distress.He kidnapped many women for...pleasure,at least that is what my mother said,but apparently I am the only child that he produced." She said,looking down at the ground.The fae wished she knew more about her father.

The boy blushes a bit himself as he sees a little redness touch Eva's cheeks before she hid it. He nuzzles against her again for a moment showing affection before turning to face the demon fairy. "As I said before, I will help you as best I can. I may not look it, but I am somewhat of a scholar and historian even though I have lived less than two decades. The unfortunate part right now, as much as I want to help you, I can't unless we can find my bag. It is dark brown, weighs a good bit and has everything I took with me when I left my master's home." His voice cracks a bit as he mentions his master. Even after a year, the pain of jealousy and anger is still fresh in his mind when it comes to why he left. "If we can find my bag, there are books in it that may be of some assistance as to the one you are looking for."

Eva was still a bit hung up on the Onee-san comment; she hadn’t been anyone’s sister let alone, big sister. It was endearing if not embarrassing. He mentioned the bag again and she set forward to where he had been before helping with the search. “Where did you last see it?” she said softly, she had helped her mother out when she had been ridiculed for having a Halfling so she was use in some ways to caring for others. She was actually enjoying herself, not that she was willing to share that fact.

The boy grits his teeth a bit at the word 'see.' Before showing any further reaction he shrugs off his irritation at the word and starts to think back to where he last had his bag. "Well, I had it before I got chased by those people that hurt me.....so I must have lost it somewhere between here and their camp." He walks up slowly behind Eva and takes her by the hand, a smile on his face. Looking back, he motions with his free hand for Hikari to come with them so that he may try to help her. "By the way, Onee-chan......please don't ask me if I 'see' things ever again, ok?" He smiles as he looks up at her, his one good eye still showing a small reflection of his irritation at that word.

Hikari smiled and walked forward."I can probably help find it if there's any residual feeling left on it.Kind of like following a scent.How long has it been since you lost it,do you think?" She asked,already stretching her senses out to try and pick up the feeling of someone in a fight.
