"They'll help keep you warm, like fur, but better fitting," tried to explain Alryn kindly. He crouched down, toothless smile upon his face. Questioningly, he glanced at the woman, then settled down on the ground with his skirts pooling around him in an artistic kind of way. He sensed, somehow, that the man had been through a lot and needed gentle handling. By the way he'd moved towards the woman, it seemed like she'd already gained his trust.

"My name is Alryn, and I live in this forest." The offer of information was as much for the man as the woman. They were both wild seeming, with an air about them that tickled the edges of memory. It was so familiar, that wild look, and such grace. The same kind predators had.

"True, nothing should be wasted" Was her absent response. She raised an eyebrow as he licked his lips, recognizing a particular type of hunger. She suspected it was more for the man at her side then her but she still smirked with amusement all the same. She glanced towards the Vargulf then, waiting for him to answer. He was still more animal then man wasnt he? A pity. She reached over to tap his shoulder. Once he looked at her she would lean in to whisper something to him. It was simple, and would hopefully get through to him.

"You should accept his offer.... to find yourself again you need to find your human heart too. Besides you'll be warmer." She said the last in a slightly joking tone before leaning back towards her other knee. She glanced up at the shapeshifter then, tentatively trying the meat pies. 'Not Bad' She said absently as she briefly studied him. He was a pretty little thing, rather androgynous. She was use to meatier men then either of these two but both were pretty enough to look at. Still, she wasn't sure she quite trusted him but the pies tasted good.

"Have you lived in the forest long?" She asked quietly, giving him a chance for now. She doubted the mistrust was anything large. He was likely some manner of rogue or trickster was all, nothing particularly dangerous to her at the moment being she was highly resistant to poison. He likely just wanted strong friends around or was a trickster with a heart of gold. It happened more often in fairy tales then reality but it did happen.

He shifted slightly, even when the woman leaned over to whisper at him, he still seemed uncertain. Besides, he very much liked the fur was wrapped in, it was so soft and so warm. He clutched the fur tightly for a moment, holding it hard and tight against his body as he rubbed his cheek against part of it, his red eyes on the male. He was hesitant and uncertain. "...Clothes...please?" He glanced at the therian, as if for confirmation, even though she had just suggest he accept that offer. Then his gaze shifted to the male, wary but expectant.

PapillonCameo 05-21-2013 02:42 AM

The young seeming man noted how the red head clutched the fur. He'd have to make sure to pick something with fur on it then, to make certain the other man was comfortable. Alryn nodded to himself, then sent a smile to the pair. "I've lived here for a long while now, in a cave. It won't take me long to grab the clothes, I'll be back soon." With that, he was off, and shifting once out of sight. His legs became longer, more muscular, limbs which were made for running.

With a physique like that, it truly didn't take more then a few minutes for him to pick out and grab clothing, and then race back. Before coming back in sight, he shifted back to the male he'd first shown the pair. "Here you are, I grabbed some clothes with fur on it, because you really seem to like it." He glanced at the woman with his golden eyes. "Is there anything you need?"

She looked like she could survive very well on her own, but maybe there were herbs she didn't know where to find, or a kind of food she missed. He did sincerely want to help them, they looked like good folk. There wasn't much danger of them giving him away to the villagers either at this point.

Staria 05-21-2013 02:51 AM

"Not really...... But thanks." She refused the offer bluntly, her tone as coarse as usual until she added the simple thanks. She had been out hunting too long again, forgot basic politeness. It was strange to have two people at her side really... her companions were generally limited to the undead horse and the owl. As if reading her thoughts the owl hooted and moved to sit on her shoulder so it could peer at the new man in thought. It too had noticed the unusual speed the man had returned and judging by her nod had said so. It wasn't that much of a surprise... still she remembered something then.

"Rea, it's Rea by the way." She added, remembering she had forgotten her introduction. In truth her name was Chantrea Vidar but Rea matched her better. The elegant name Chantrea didn't quite suit her in her normal day to day life..... at least she didn't think so. Still she did use the name for ceremony and so on, as it was her 'true' name.... the name her now long deceased father had seen in a dream.

The Vargulf had relaxed again when the other male had run off, honestly he hardly expected him to return. But the man did return, the Vargulf shied back a little when the male returned with the clothes. That uncertainty returning to his features as he watched the other with the clothes. He moved to take the clothes rather quickly, the way he had taken the sandwich from the woman earlier. Standing, and holding the clothing, the Vargulf looked rather confused for a moment, then he tugged at the fur until it fell from his body. He glanced at the woman, and then the male, then he stared at the clothes in his hand. He had worn things like this before, he knew that, it seemed familiar to him. His brow furrowed slightly, and his gaze danced over the two people again, then slowly he began to pull the clothes on.

He moved slowly, carefully, as if afraid the items would shatter in his hands if he pulled them to hard. It took a few minutes but he managed to get the clothes on properly. He tugged at them lightly and stared down at the fur almost mournfully. In his opinion the fur hide had been far more comfortable and warmer. Then the woman was introducing herself, Rea. For a moment a look of loss crossed his features, he had a name, he knew he did, but like most things before this forest and before the nightmares, he couldn't remember it at all. Not even a hint. Slowly he sat back down and pulled the fur around him, rubbing his cheek against it.

PapillonCameo 05-21-2013 03:10 AM

Oh he did look good, but now he was staring in an indecent way. Politely, he turned his head away and peered at the woman instead. She was an odd one, and what she was slipped to and fro at the edges of his mind. "It's nice to meet you Rea. What brings you here?" The man was too wild, too like one of the creatures of the forest ... He was probably one of those strange man beasts he'd come across from afar, and had been avoiding. They usually gave him the creeps.

But not this one. Slowly he shifted closer to the man, and reached out to touch the fur. He didn't actually touch it tough, he stopped his hand at a reasonable distance. "Can I touch it?" What was so different about the fur, that the man clung to it so?

~Wild Spirit Wolf~ 05-21-2013 03:13 AM

The creature moved gracefully though the forest. She smelled warm bodies gathered, and could not resist looking into it.She had not had contact with any intelligent beings for so long.A misfit,an abomination, the girl was something living creatures tended to shy away from.It was a certain wrongness about her,the suggestion that she was something other, something unnatural. She had a name, but she had not used it in so,so long. She peered though the trees at the group gathered, and whined. It was a sound one might hear at night and assume that a stray dog wanted entry to their house.A sound that normal people would know, instinctively, was not a dog,and therefore did not open the door. She crouched closer, ears back, catching the scent of food.

The Vargulf hadn't cared how the other had looked at him when he was changing into the clothes, such a thing meant nothing to him at the moment. Now he clutched the fur tightly to him and when the male reached out to touch it, the Vargulf gave a soft, warning growl. He couldn't be sure of the male's intentions, did he really just want to touch it, or did he expect to take the fur in exchange for the clothes? He looked to Rea, uncertain, and seeking the answer from her. She would know, wouldn't she? Still it wasn't truly his fur anyway, it was hers, she hadn't said he could keep it, he was only borrowing it. Truly it was her who should give permission pertaining to the touching of the fur, right? The Vargulf had shied away from the man's outstretched hand, though his head jerked up, something was approaching them again. He shivered, there was something wrong about the creature that approached now. It reminded him of the other monsters deep in the forest.

Staria 05-21-2013 03:21 AM

"Hunting. Sometimes people want the fur without the danger." She responded simply. It was the truth and how she made her living. She saw no reason to hide it. She glanced over at the Vargulf again as he nuzzled into the fur, surprised. It was indeed high quality, all her furs always were considering how she processed them. A lot of skill and a little magic could indeed make any pelt soft as silk, as long as one hadn't ruined it when they'd killed the creature anyway. She always treated each the best she could, however, as that was to her the way to show respect. She chuckled softly as the man asked to touch it but said nothing, it was not her choice to make since she had given it to her wolfkin.

Still the chuckle faded quickly as she glanced towards the sound of a whine. Her therian senses knew better then to think it human and she raised an eyebrow in thought. Still she said nothing, no expression on the face so well hidden by her hood. If it sought a fight it would find it, if it sought peace it could find it as well. She returned her gaze towards the Vargulf as she heard him growl. It made her chuckle again before she turned her gaze towards the sound.

"It is up to him really, I gave it to him so it is no longer my choice or concern what he does with it. Still it seems he is not quite use to gifts yet... "

~Wild Spirit Wolf~ 05-21-2013 03:33 AM

She had been found out.The Vargulf had sensed her,and now she couldn't back out.Strengthening her resolve, the creature stepped forward to where she could be seen.In her current form, she would look like a huge black and white wolf-one with canines that were too long even for a werewolf.Sniffing a bit at the people she was facing, the female shifted, fur receding until she was standing there on two legs,a girl of ethereal beauty, wearing no more than a scrap of a ruined, torn dress and a cloak.A set of enlongated canines dimpled her bottom lip, marking her as a vampire-but also something more."Hello...I apologize for interrupting, but I smelled food...I could not resist..." Her voice was musical, with an odd accented quality,as if she hadn't spoken in a very long time, and when she had, she's had an accent that was now long dead.

He let his hand fall to the ground with a disappointed air. "I see ...." The mention at hunting made him lift his head. Alryn's eyes were wary, somewhat judgmental. She hunted animals, for the pleasure of others. "What do you do with the rest of the carcass?" If she did nothing, then she'd get no more aid from him. It was a waste, to hunt an animal simply for their hide.

The whine barely registered. He was so used to hearing strange sounds in the forest that it was normal for him. The thing it came from, whatever she was, had never approached him before. That was unusual for Alryn, but today was a strange day. As the wolf approached, then turned into a girl, Alryn plucked a pie from his bag and place it upon the ground wordlessly.

Staria 05-21-2013 03:44 AM

"Most of it i eat I suppose, though bones have their uses." She said simply, simply smiling at his distaste in his voice. Of course, she hunted for more then money but simply because she had to anyway as her beast demanded. May as well make money at it too was her practical thought, and the cat in her always ensured she went for the throat so the death was quick and clean with little damage to the hide. It made her uniquely suited to her work, not that she felt any reason or urge to explain it to him. She was gazing at the vampire now, however, even as she answered him. She too was a pretty little thing, at this point Rea was unsurprised. Pretty things seemed to surround her, not that the hooded ranger had any real desire to show her own face at the moment.

"I do wonder if that's quite the food she meant." She muttered with a soft chuckle towards the shape shifting male. She did, however, subtly step in front of the Vargulf as she sensed his discomfort. She had taken the 'alpha' role which meant she gave her protection in exchange for submission. Of course that was what a good Alpha did, many chose other routes. She tilted her head to the side, simply gazing at the vampire until she spoke. Only one simple word.

"hello"

Kry 05-21-2013 03:49 AM

The Vargulf clutched at the fur a little tighter when Rea said it was his. So she really had given it to him. His body was tense, though he was a little relieved when the male stopped reaching for his fur hide. However his attention was mostly on the creature that emerged now, his body so tense. So many strangers in so little time, his eyes danced wildly over them all, that slight feral look in them seemed to increase a bit, his heart rate had elevated and he looked as if he didn't know if he should snarl at them, run away or do both at the same time. Those eyes fell on Rea as she moved in front of him, trust her, safety. He seemed to calm a little, but he didn't relax. To much was happening far too quickly for his liking. He almost wished things would go back to the way they had been, when the creatures of the forest had left him alone, of course he hadn't expected that to last very long anyway.

~Wild Spirit Wolf~ 05-21-2013 03:54 AM

The vampire girl inclined her head slightly at the sight of the pie.It smelled of meat. She sat down and began eating it.She looked up at the other woman and nodded,to indicate that she had heard her greeting."If you are thinking I wanted blood,I do not.I only want that sometimes.Mostly I enjoy meat." She said, another indication of her otherness. She was a vampire in appearance, but she had shifted from a wolf. There was no word for what she was, that she knew of.A half breed,a forbidden cross between the two great night hunters. She ate like she hadn't eaten in weeks-which she hadn't."I thank you for sharing your food.It has been long since I have fed."

PapillonCameo 05-21-2013 04:04 AM

They really were a very strange group. To be honest, Alryn didn't really trust any of them, but was confident that he could change who he was enough to flee any of them if need be. "Bones do indeed. They can make such nice necklaces, and knives." It would take a while to learn how to, but he was sure he could change even his scent if need be. What a feat that would be, though!

"You're welcome." He wasn't quite sure how else to address the strange girl. She seemed like the more traditional nightwalkers, blood suckers, of olden times before the wolves shad forbidden the vampires the ability to shift into their shapes. It had wrought too many problems, from what Alryn's mother had said. Well his mother ... That was just the shape she preferred.

"Hey, are you alright?" He addressed himself to the red head again, concern in his tone. There were so many people to talk to all at once. Would the half-wild man be overwhelmed? It seemed like it was beginning to wear on him.

Staria 05-21-2013 04:16 AM

"True." Was her only response to the shape shifter, her mind elsewhere a moment. She shook off whatever thought she had quickly, looking instead at the vampire woman. Well a friend of hers would have called her a Werepire technically. She never quite understood the biology behind it all, ultimately coming to the conclusion that like her magic played a bigger role then anything else. She shrugged off the thought, but wondered absently how her charge would fare. Did he know what a vampire was? She glanced back at him, letting the others converse without her speaking. She wasn't really the one being talked to by the vampire or the shape shifter so saw no reason to respond. So instead she sat on silent guard, her owl half hiding behind a wing timidly.

Kry 05-21-2013 04:26 AM

He shifted slightly, wrapping the fur further around him, as if he could hide in it. He kept his eyes on the others though, and he was glad for the safety Rea offered him. Even though he wasn't entirely sure how much he should trust her, she had given him no reason not to trust yet, but these others hadn't given him a reason not to trust them either. He licked his lips, feeling very thirsty all of a sudden and when Alryn spoke to him, he nodded slightly. "...thirsty.." He spoke the word quietly.

PapillonCameo 05-21-2013 04:37 AM

Upon hearing the word, he reached into his bag and pulled out a water filled bladder, topped with a cork lid. This he popped off, after unwrapping the rope around it, and held it out to the red head. "Here you go." Alryn seemed to have everything in that bag of his, at least everything that he might need for an excursion out in the woods. "It might not be the coldest, but it should do." He wondered what had happened to the red head, and glanced to the woman he'd first seen him with. Did she know? Well, it didn't seem like either of the pair were inclined to trust too easily, so Alryn decided to wait to ask any questions until later.

~Wild Spirit Wolf~ 05-21-2013 04:41 AM

The girl looked up when the Vargulf mentioned thirst. She said nothing, just finished the little pie she had been given. She was still hungry, but the ravenous hunger that usually caused her to run wild had subsided.Half the time she was torn between hunger and thirst, and it drove her to near madness. At least she could think now.Of course,it was only a matter of time before the bloodthirst took her again.

Kry 05-21-2013 04:55 AM

The Vargulf hesitated when Alryn pulled out the bladder of water and handed it to him. He leaned towards it and sniffed at it lightly, it smelled alright, slowly he took it and put it to his lips. He drank deeply of the water, cold or hot, he wouldn't have cared. It was refreshing and delicious, before he knew it, he had emptied the container, drained it of it's contents. He hadn't meant to, and with an uncertain look in his eyes, he handed the empty container back to the young man. He seemed to relax a little bit, this person had given him clothing, and water, had even set down a meat pie for him though the Vargulf hadn't touched it. Surely he could trust this person at least a little bit. He glanced at Rea, then at the other female, the wolf that had changed shape, but he didn't think she was a werewolf. He wasn't sure though.

PapillonCameo 05-21-2013 05:04 AM

He smiled, accepting the empty bladder and making it disappear into his bag once more. "You aren't very talkative, are you?" None of those present seemed to be. It was such a shame too, since everyone seemed so interesting. Alryn took moment to glance at everyone, and decided to try and think up a conversation that could interest them all, once this one with the red head was done.

Kry 05-21-2013 05:11 AM

The Vargulf seemed very uncertain at that, and ducked his head slightly. Should he speak more? What should he speak about? He was frowning deeply again, looking so uncertain and just a little apologetic. The Vargulf looked down at the fur wrapped around him, and slowly he held out an end of the hide to Alryn, the other had wanted to touch it earlier, and the Vargulf felt a little more confident that the male had no intention of trying to take it from him. "...Soft.." The word, like most of his words was said quietly. Surely the other realized he was being given permission to touch the fur.

~Wild Spirit Wolf~ 05-21-2013 05:14 AM

The girl looked around.Everyone was quiet. It seemed like none of them were used to talking much."I have been rude.I apologize. My name...I believe the name I was given is Tsuwamono. But,many simply call me Spirit." She said, hoping her introduction was adequate.

PapillonCameo 05-21-2013 05:19 AM

"Mine is Alryn," said the shapeshifter as means of introduction once more. He smiled kindly, and turned his attention to the soft spoken red head once more. Just for a moment really, but he hoped that was enough. The young seeming man reached out with an elegant hand to brush pale fingers against the hide.

"It is very soft, I can see why you want to keep it so close." Smiling still, he glanced at the people gathered around. "I wonder if it would be a good idea if we all stayed together here. There are dangers in the forest after all, and there's safety in numbers." There, that was surely a conversation starter that everyone could get involved in.
