Truthfully lots of my emotes happen be a mess of stuff tossed together haha. If anyone still wants to read more on OTL Main/Pose of Supplication - Television Tropes & Idioms I use to think orz was a sound effect though. Like my Fuwa and Hoi and I like making random sound effects and they're like my emotes in real life. xD |
DTMS does mean "Does that make sense" which is why I felt more stupid for not knowing it. >.<
In guilds I see the acronym FTG lots. I still don't know exactly what it means since its said at odd times. People say it could be Eff/forget that guy. Some people say its For the guild. Another person told me it stands for Full Throttle Gaming. Then a whole other set of people have said its Eff the Government. I haven't really cared about finding that one out enough to go to urban dictionary yet. |
I feel so educated reading through this thread. I didn't know what OTL, orz or SMH meant, even though I see them all the time!

orz is my favourite one. It's easier than OTL to type, plus, it looks cooler. xD Smh [shake my head] and bol [bust out laughing] took me a while. I had to google it. Then there's also, lmbo [laughing my butt/behind off]. I hate when new acronyms come out, because I'm like, "What?" |

I've actually looked up a lot of things to figure what they were out. SMH is one I looked up. OTL is what my friend told me. It literally confuse me because I couldn't see it until we had a big conversation about it. It makes sense now, ya know.

I came from Tinier Me so I've gotten used to all the spammed japanese emoticons which were highly irritating to me. They abused the "OTL" and "orz" quite a lot and I found it stupid. If you use it, great but it just.. it makes me want to sit on your back, so you can be forever stuck. It also took me awhile to understand "/sad" things. I didn't know it equated to "*runs*". I didn't understand "Hnggh" which was just a frustrated noise? And the "FFF-" thing. It's weird and unnecessary to me. Anyone who texts me or says some type of acronym that I haven't come across, I will being completely dumbstruck. I don't type like that and I'll probably just walk away or ignore you. I only use seven emoticons ever. |

I wouldn't have clue where it came from or what it was to be real honest. I just knew when I saw everyone "Hngh" ing, it sounded like they were taking a poop. [:|]
