Well, it did find the culprit. I wouldn't advise doing it again, because it does suck that the daughter got what was aimed at the mother. Hopefully the girl is at that stage where stuff like that fascinates her and she might think it's cool. I dunno if her mom will actually buy her clothes though. If she's too lazy to buy her own detergent, who knows what effort she makes with her kids? >>;
I'd be the nervous kind of person that um, takes my detergent back to my apartment. I use expensive stuff because...well, I got hooked on it. X_X Besides that, I have bad trust issues anyhow. Still, at least the issue is resolved now and something can be done now that everyone knows who is responsible for all the theft. ^^; |
I wouldn't feel bad at all. The mother's the one who should be feeling bad about stealing. It's not like you told her that she could use the detergent. As mentioned, detergent is cheap so there's really not an excuse for stealing it.

I would feel a bit upset but only because the daughter having to deal with her mother's actions. It's one thing for asking for some detergent [I do it all the time. D'X I have the greatest neighbors!] but actually stealing it is another thing. Maybe she needs to get her shopping list priorities straight, buy the things you really need.

I think you should feel a bit bad. It's not your fault that you caught the culprit. Maybe talk about it w/ her mom?
|
It's unfortunate that the girls clothes were dyed blue, but I wouldn't feel bad about it.
The mother shouldn't have stolen detergent in the first place. |
no I wouldn't feel bad. maybe next time the mother will think twice before she takes other persons stuff -.- if not, THEN I'd feel bad.
|
I'd feel bad that the it was the girl's clothes that got ruined but since she is so young she probably doesn't care. I wouldn't feel bad for trying to catch the thief though, I'm too poor to let someone steal my detergent.
|
I would feel bad for the little girl, but at least you all know who the thief is now.
|
I think I agree with most people here when I say that it's too bad that the little girl has blue clothes now. I would not have felt sorry if it had happened to the lady instead. Seriously, if you can not afford something and want to borrow it, then you should really ask first. Sure, it may be demeaning to ask for something that is pretty cheap to get, but she really cannot let her pride get in the way. It may have been childish to put dye in the container to begin with, but so is refusing to ask for help if you need it, or being too cheap to buy your own detergent.
|
Nope, not at all. The little girl was a casualty, yes - it would've been better if the mother ended up dying all her clothes blue - but everyone now knows who's the thief. And seriously, it's not like you did the laundry equivalent of sticking razors in apples or whatever. The girl's clothes are all blue now, and that's it - no harm (at least physically), no foul.
