I wouldn't call your personal situation "hoarding," Therius.
Like others have pointed out, you are donating real money to the site and creating new items.
You aren't taking rare items out of circulation and artificially inflating them.

The example that you mentioned about someone having five devil tails on Gaia doesn't really bother me either, to be honest.
It would be nice of him to circulate the items back in the economy, sell them to a quester or friend, etc...
But they are just pixels and they belong to him.
It's not really anyone else's business.

I don't really hoard things.
I get extra event items from events and occasionally buy extra CI sets to use to trade for my quest items.
I don't really see a problem with it.
The items get back into the economy one way or another.

On sites where I'm somewhat inactive, I don't think that I have any multiples of items.
I still have items on the sites though.
I don't see anything wrong with that.
