I burned water once! ...well, technically, I burned the pan in which I was boiling water in when I fell asleep while the water was boiling and the pan went dry.
It really stunk! ...the stink is what woke me up! |

I have never burnt anything before, except for like things like grilled cheese or vegan sausages. Things that go on a sauté pan and cook on a side and you can't see how fast or slow it's going...

The only times I have trouble with burning things is when I'm using the big oven--the thing is ridiculously inconsistent when baking, and it's pretty much impossible to tell if the thing you're baking will take twice as long as it's supposed to because the oven is cold, or if it'll get burned super fast and set off the uber-sensitive smoke alarm (the thing goes off with steam. It's a pain in the arse to use, which is why mom got a smaller countertop oven that actually does it's damn job.
Still have to go to a friend's house for big baking projects, though. You can tell that the landlady does not do a lot of cooking or baking, as no matter how many times me and mom have complained about the crappy oven/stove that really needs to be looked at. |
