Saiyuri laughed and kissed Anna on the cheek, "Don't worry, I knew you would all write anyway, but I'm very glad you came in all this rain!"
Liam smiled as he brushed the wet hair out of Saiyuri's face and kissed her cheek before bringing her to his chest in a hug. Kissing the top of her head, he added, "Now ye better be careful. If I hear ye start gettin' sick while there, I'm comin' after ye, ye here?" Saiyuri looked up at him and nodded with a laugh, "You worry too much! I'll be fine, I promise." Opening the curtain to the carraige, Phillip sighed as he called out, "She'll only be fine if she gets out of that rain before she catches a death of cold!" Liam laughed as he called back, "O' course Mr. Rumeti! It's good t' see ye again!" Upon giving a slight nod, Phillip returned a small wave before closing the curtain once more. Smiling, Saiyuri broke away from Liam and gave Anna another hug as tears began to trickle down her cheeks once more, "I'm going to miss you Anna-chan . . ." ------------------------- "Saiyuri's eyes . . . how when she's got a cold or a headache, her eyes turn lavender even though she seems happy . . . or when she's deeply saddened, her eyes are a hazy light blue, even though she seems up beat and happy . . . or when her illness take over . . . her eyes are a hazy lavender that refuses to go away even though her emotions change and she seems alright . . . no one seems to notice . . . just how deadly . . . her eyes can be . . ." |
Hugging the older girl back, Anna let out a soft laugh - a warm, sincere sound, only for Saiyuri's ears. "Ah Saiyuri, don't be silly. You've only known me for a day!" Squeezing her friend tightly a last time, Anna took a step back, adding with a wink, "But I'll miss you too. And Liams' right - we'll come kick your butt if you do anything bad!"
---- "You're being a tad to lyrical about it," Fynn smiled lightly, not looking at Drew because he could simply imagine the completely infatuated look on the other boys face. "But I do know what you mean. I have noticed. She's an open book, that one." |
Saiyuri smiled, "I know, Anna-chan, but it feels as if I've known you my entire life! But you needn't worry about me, I shan't get into any trouble, I promise."
Liam smiled, "I know, it's not the trouble I'm worried about." Saiyuri's eyes darted a quick glare, "Don't worry about that either Liam O'Reily." Liam sighed and rested his hand on her shoulder, "I'll worry 'bout that 'till it's gone." Saiyuri rolled her eyes non-chalant like and quickly placed a kiss on Anna's cheek. Smiling once more, she brushed her long dark purple, rain soaked hair out of her eyes, "I'll be alright, you two just worry about your studies. I'll see you all in a few months." With a quick wave, she turned and ran off to the carraige. Once inside, she quckly cast a spell to dry herself and relieve the chill. With one last wave, Liam sighed and turned to Anna, "Ready t' head in?" ------------------------ Drew gave a soft laugh, "Lyrical? Not my intention." With a sigh, he looked at Fynn, "My point is to warn you and to have you warn the person your family is able to send to the Rumeti's for a 'visit'. Watch her eyes carefully at every moment. When you see her eyes hazy and purple . . . there's trouble afoot and it's best to stay as far away from her as possible and to come find me if I'm not there with her . . . if i'm not to be found, Snape and Dumbledore should be notified at once. When she comes back, I need to you look out for her when I'm not there. If . . . if it's not gone by then . . ." |
Sadly, the brunette wasn't ready to go in at all. Her hand rested lightly on Liams' arm, trying to pull strength out of the knowledge that someone was there. At Saiyuri's words, "it feels as if I've known you my entire life", the young Belgian girl was once again reminded that she had been lying her ass off to all of them, and the guilt suddenly caught up to her.
"Liam... If I told you... I haven't been entirely honest all the time... would you forgive me?" --- His eyes had darkened in slight worry at Drews words, as for the first time Fynn realised that all of this was much more serious than he had first believed. After a moments' hesitation, he asked, "Why don't you use a house elf?" |
Liam's heart fell to the pit of his stomache. Thoughts of Anna and Josh returned as he spoke, "Wh-what is it, love?"
------------------ Drew laughed, "We don't have one in our service. And Sai's House Elf Lillian is so loyal to her that if Saiyuri asked if we had her to keep an eye out, Lillian would tell her the whole truth and Sai would be furious and disappear again. It's safer to be as descrete as possible." |
Biting her lower lip, she gently reached for his hand, squeezing it. "I'm... Until this year... I'd only been to muggle schools. I'm not a transfer from Beauxbatons." Gazing down, she focused on the hand she was holding, her thumb gently caressing the skin as she felt guilty for both hiding the truth, and for telling Liam now. And scared for whatever reaction that migth come, despite it not being such a big deal.
--- "Don't be an idiot," Fynn laughed lightly, adding, "I wouldn't use Saiyuri's house elf, and I know you don't have one. We have a couple in service at home. I could just command one of them to do it." |
Liam smiled and sighed a sigh of relief, "Fer a minute there I thought ye were gonna tell me ye really were havin' a thing with Josh!" With a chuckle he kissed Anna's forehead, "Why did you say you were from Beauxbatons then?"
Lucky for Liam, the thunder and lightning had quit and the rain began to subside. ------------------- "Wouldn't that be suspicious? A house elf suddenly appearing under the orders of you? Surely Saiyuri will be bound to inquire as to whom it was that sent the house elf. And even if you had the elf swear to secrecy, Saiyuri would be even more suspicious as to whom it was due to the secrecy. She's more apt to figure it's us and make a run for it. When Sai gets in these moods of hers, she tends to be quite temperamental." |
Incredulous, Anna looks up at him. "With JOSH? Don't be silly." With a slight shake of her head, the brunette adds, "It was Dumbledore who said it'd be best - though it took a lot of studying to get up to this level. I'm still not very good at controlling my magic."
---- Shaking his head lightly, Fynn interjects, "Do you really think she'll be able to even see the house elf? It's not like it'd go around in plain sight following her. She won't even notice that there's someone there." |
Liam smiled, "Yes, but what I don' understand is, why didn't a magic school enroll ye when ye were younger?"
------------------------ "Not entirely sure. Saiyuri can usually sense when someone is following or watching her. It's possible she may simply over look the house elf. Give it a shot if you like, it's possible it could work." |
With her toe scraping over the floor shyly, Anna didn't really look up. "Well... my mum... she had her reasons..."
--- Sighing in annoyance, Fynn shrugged, "Fine, whichever you want. I'd just use a house elf because they can easily go in and out of hogwats, and side-along apparition you if need be. But it's all up to you." Taking a step away from the window, the black-haired handsome youth crossed his arms over his slender chest. "I'll let you know when I get a reply." |
Tilting Anna's head up, Liam smiled down upon her, "How 'bout we get out o' this rain and get a cup o' hot choc'late. Ye can tell me then if ye want, if not, we'll have a nice chat 'bout somethin' else, alright?"
----------------- Sighing, Drew continued to look out the window. He could tell that Fynn was annoyed with him, yet he couldn't bring himself to tell Fynn the whole truth. Surely Fynn would understand the urgency when it became apparent how little the potions were doing for Sai, and how much she was in danger of becoming the beast which bit her. However, Drew was sworn to secrecy and wouldn't break that vow until it became necessary for all of Saiyuri's friends to know. Sticking his hands into his pocket as he turned around and leaned his lower back against the bottom ledge of the window, Drew nodded, "If you think a House Elf would be more effecient, use one. Just make sure it is one you can trust with your life." |
"Something else would be nice," she smiled, her appley-round cheeks red from the cold wind. "I just felt really bad when Sai said that, but... could you... not tell everyone else? It's easier to just stick with the Beauxbatons story."
------------------------- "It's a House Elf," Fynn grumbled, "They're loyal to our family, and would rather kill themselves then betray a secret. Honestly." With his hand running through his hair again, he added, "But I can't do anything until I get an owl back from my mother. So we'll just have to wait a bit;" |
Liam smiled as he took her hand and led her back up the stairs, "O' course. But I have a sneakin' suspicion Sai won't mind, 'n' neither will the rest o' the gang. But I'll leave the tellin' t' you."
---------------- Drew laughed, "Yes, but House Elves are not loyal to every member of the family. They may simply tolerate and obey simple commands for the person they despise, but they will most always have preference to certain members. But yes, we must wait before anything is decided. Do you expect a letter soon? If not, we'd probably better get out of this dampy old tower and try to get back to the castle before the rain increases again." |
Squeezing his hand lightly, she muttered, "Thanks," before following him back inside. She felt a bit at ease, his smiling face causing a butterfly to flutter in her stomach, and suddenly realised she wanted to know so much about him.
---- "Most likely I won't get anything until the morning," Fynn shrugged, stuffing his hands in his robe's pockets and waiting for Drew to head back to the castle. "And I know our house elves like me. I don't treat them badly." |
Liam shook his head and brushed his hair out of his face as they shut the door to the castle. He quickly cast a drying spell on Anna and himself before leading Anna towards the Great Hall, which was quite empty due to classes still being in session.
-------------- With a short nod, Drew followed Fynn out of the Owlery and back to the castle. Half way on their journey, Anna cooed and dropped a letter into Drew's hands. He gave a look of bewilderment to Fynn before opening the letter. On the envelope, was a simple letter, "D". Casting a spell to cover the letter with an umbrella so the ink didn't run, Drew skimmed the contents of the letter. "I don't understand... this doesn't make any sense." |
Patting her now dried uniform - while still wearing the brightly coloured hat - she looked up at Liam with a grin. "Thanks. Can we just get hot chocolate here?"
--- "What doesn't make sense?" Fynn asked in his somewhat gruff way, attempting to mask his curiosity. |
Liam laughed as he sat down at the nearby table, "O' course we can. How d' ye like it? I prefer mine with a bit o' peppermint."
------------- Handing the letter to Fynn, Drew rubbed his temples, "You read it.." The letter reads as follows: Dear Drew, I recieved your letter about Saiyuri, but I'm afraid I can be of no help. Saiyuri is not coming back to the mansion for her 'vacation', as father puts it. I'm afraid she's being taken over seas for two months to a wizarding couple in Salem. The couple had a son whom has the same illness as Saiyuri. Unfortunately, just as they broke through in their experiments, it was a day too late and their son had been consumed by it. Father is hopeing their efforts will not have gone in vain and Saiyuri will be cured. Unfortunately, Saiyuri has no idea of these plans. I fear for her, I'm afraid this method may make things work. Do some research on them and let me know everything you find out. I'm quite limited here and mother is pushing me to quit dawdling and pack my things for school. Wishing you the best, Sending you the dearest of affection, Lucia Rumeti |
"Peppermint?" Anna made a face, laughing lightly at Liams' odd taste. "Why'd you want any kind of peppermint in your chocolate? That's so... American. I just like dark chocolate with some whipped cream."
--- "Illness?" Fynns' eyebrows had risen almost to middle of the forehead, and a surprisingly angry fire was burning in his usually calm eyes. "Salem?! What does that idiot think to accomplish with that? Experiment on her?!" |
Liam laughed, "Dark choc'late? Too rich, milk choc'late is much bet'er. Whipped cream does sound good though, with cinnamon sprinkled on top o' course." As the cups of hot cholocate appeared on the table, Liam smiled, "Just a dash o' peppermint is quite refreshing. Try it, ye might like it."
-------------- Massaging his temples, Drew sighed, "Most likely. I know nothing of this family, though I do know the incident and name. I read about it in the Daily Prophet a few months ago - Cornielius and Rebecca Watinkson, their son's name was Tucker. They were never taken very seriously, the illness is not common and is seen once every century or so. There's no cure for it as of yet, so I doubt they've created a safe one that's approved by the Ministry. For all we know, this potion may progress the illness past the point of return. I'm afraid Mr. Rumeti won't listen to reason. I have a couple connections near Salem, I may be able to get them to keep an eye out and gather information. I'm afraid it may be too late though . . . surely Mr. Rumeti used floo powder." |
Taking a sip from the chocolate, it didn't take Anna long to make a face. "Sadly not my cup of tea, I'm afraid," she smiled through squinting eyes, her entire form having shrunk together because of the taste. "And there's nothing wrong with a taste being too rich."
--- Still shaking his head in helpless anger, Fynn said, "Well, I still think it's rubbish. Can't we do something about it? I mean, it's not like I can send one of our cousins after her now! DAMMIT!" A portrait on the wall hissed in annoyance, and Fynn automatically muttered an apology. |
Liam laughed, "At least ye were brave enough t' try it! As for there nothin' being wrong with a taste too rich, I beg t' differ. Dark choc'late has a very bitter, yet rich taste to it, it's a taste ye'd have to get accustomed too."
-------------------- Still massaging his temples as the wheels worked in his head and they continued to walk, "There is one thing . . . I know I can get Liam to cover me while I speak through the fireplace in the common room to a connection in Salem. It may take a day or two to get he spell . . . however, can you get a house elf here tonight?" |
With a small smile, slipping back into her comfortable feeling, Anna said softly, "Then I suppose you also have to get accustomed to my taste?"
--- Raising an eyebrow, Liam shrugged, "Yeah, I could get one here right away, if you need it." He was curious what spell the other boy was talking about, but still a bit hurt in his pride, he decided against asking. |
With a smirk, he tenderly kissed Anna's lips, "Already grown accustomed to."
------------- "Send for the one you trust the most, I have an errand for you to give him, if you don't mind that is. If my plan goes properly, I can get the family out of the country if Sai and Mr. Rumeti haven't arrived by Floo-powder. I'm hoping he'll take the muggle route and fly by plane, to keep from being tracked through the Floo-network. If all goes according to plan, we may have time to get to Saiyuri before Mr. Rumeti gets her introduced to the Watinksons." |
Blushing lightly, she pressed her lips against his in return, before hastily taking another sip of her hot cocoa. "You're far too smooth."
Staying quiet for a while, Anna looked at Liam pensively, then asked softly, "Can I ask you some things?" ---- Rolling his eyes slightly at Drews paranoia, he thought for a while before calling for a small, scrawny, big-eyed house elf named Sally, after which she popped into existence in front of their feet. Before addressing the girl elf, he turned back to Drew though, saying, "I'm seriously thinking you're overacting. I know it's not my place, but you're seriously -seriously- overacting." Putting his hand on the tiny house elfes' head in affectionate greeting, he added, "Just thought I'd mention it. Now, tell Sally what you want her to do." |
After taking a sip of his hot chocolate, Liam nodded, "O' course. What's on yer mind, love?"
------------ Drew rolled his yes, "Once Sally leaves, I'll give you the low-down on everything if you must know it all." Turning to the small creature he smiled, "There is a blue house at 15 Norbrook Lane in Salem, Massachusetts. There is a family by the name of Amelia and Daren Trofskey, they're a family my parents are very well in touch with. Please go there and tell them that Drew Alan Weston has sent you to keep an eye on a friend and will need their help momentarily, they live down the lane from the family by the name of Watinkson. Watch the Watinkson house very carefully, peer in it's windows if at all possible. See if a young girl with purple hair and a talk man with dark hair and an air of aristocracy about him arrive there through the Floo-network or by car. Report back as soon as you are able to find out this information." |
