It would be nice to convert them, but you can do that indirectly by purchasing commons, and then sell the commons back right after the event.

The currency to gold thing has been dreamed up several times by several people already. I think I really wished I could during the last Phoenix Jubilee. I had so many pies without even throwing cheesecake once I couldn't possibly figure out how to spend them all! As a result, I have that event's commons in some colors I didn't really want much. People thought I was crazy, having hundreds and hundreds of pies from pure posting. |
