My family was involved with the Boy Scouts so I went on camping trips with them.
For some weird reason Mom wouldn't let me join the girl scouts, but I was an Explorer Scout when they finally started one in this area, too bad it didn't stay active long.

Your mom sounds like mine, except my mom was also one of the leaders in boyscout.

I was just joking. I'm a girl, I couldn't even pass off as a guy if my life depended on it.

The venture crew is part of the boy scouts, but it's unisex and is only for teens.

I wanted to be a girl scout when I was little.

My family was pretty active in the boy scouts for at least 15 years, they have been a little bit of everything from treasure to scout masters at different levels.
