I don't read the ending of the book, Actually I pick a few random pages in the book and read a few sentences. i also read the very back of the book, but i do not like to read the ending. overall I don't like to spoil it for myself. But everyone has there ways when choosing a book, your style fits you best.

I sometimes read a story backwards when the story itself is written in reverse. Only because I hate having the ending be the beginning...
Usually I try not to read the last chapter...or the last few pages...
but sometime its either because of bordom or intrest in how the story might end... and most of the time...I dont really get what's happening a characters -whom I have no idea where they came from- are involoved..so it wont be clear...you can take the last chapter of Brisinger! dont you agree?!?! |
I read the first couple of pages first. not the ending. I perfer to know if im gonna MAKE it to the ending before I buy a book. of course then sometimes I do tend to read the last couple of pages if the first couple don't sound tot hrilling. cause I do find that some books start out dull but REALLY heat up towards the end. so I suppose I go ethir the first couple if im tryign to figure if im gonna buy it and if still nto certian, andt he back of the book made it sound good then i go to the last couple of pages.

The only times I can clearly remember doing this were those typical books assigned in school, like To Kill a Mockingbird, Of Mice and Men, etc. I have no idea what's going on, but I check it out anyway. I seem to only do it with school-assigned reads, apparently. I don't think I ever really do it with books I read on my own time.

:x
Nooooooooo it spoils it for me, and I'll know what's going to happen in the book, so I might as well not read it... and I don't like spoiled endings D: ... I'll read the couple first pages, but not the back X D. That's just meh.
YES, I am so guilty of that. I find that if I like the ending enough I will read it from the beginning to find out how it got there.:) I did that with all 7 of the Harry Potter Books. *goes & hide in a corner*
apparently yes... yes I do....XD
Yeah, I do that. I like to read the epiloge or the last few pages. I love to read it, and it makes no sense. So I understand everything when it comes to the very end. It makes me a happy panda.
I try not to, but sometimes, I'll do just that. x.x
I used to read the ending ALWAYS, just out of curiosity.
Nowadays I read the ending kinda halfway into the book. It always ruins it, loads more than when you read it before starting the book because by then you already know the characters. And it really bugs me but I can't really help myself. D: It just... happens. Sometimes subconsciously xDD |
Never! Then I know what happens like if someone starts to die or something and I 'm almost at the end I'll know and then there isn't as much suspense as there would be if I hadn't read the ending! Like when the last harry potter book came out. Me and my sister and my mom were at the midnight release party and when we stepped outside with our new books people were reading the last chapter/pages aloud! I find that very obnoxious!
I would hate myself if i did that. I love having something to look forward to, something to keep me interested in the book. Anytime i've ever read ahead a little bit i find that i get very bored with the book, very quickly.
My friend did it when we were in school, she would flip to the back when she was only halfway through the book, just to see how it ended. It annoyed me, and she stopped doing it in front of me in fear of getting yelled at for it. |
I tend to do it to see if I will even enjoy the book.
If the ending is a total cliche I put it back and find another. |
I used to always read the end, but then I thought i shouldn't (and no one died or anything) so the first time I didn't read the ending...the main character died. >_> And what's worse is that i fell in love with that character....
I have only done that a few times. I usually don't because it sort of ruins it for me.
I always read the last little sentence in the last page, I don't know Why, But I guess i'm a little impatient so i just go and read a little of it...
sometimes I do read the ending first. it depends.
I always have to read the last page of a book first, I then check it again half way through the book just incase it changed. I love reading that first so it gives e some idea on how it ends, happy or sad good or bad, you know all that stuff.
I could never do that! It would kill me! xD
I mean, what's the fun of reaching the end of the book if you already know what is going to happen? I love the excitement of turning the last few pages and seeing how the story concludes. It's very rewarding to me for some reason. But If I had read the ending already I wouldn't get the same feeling that I do when I reach the end because I already prepared for it --or something like that. |
 Yes I do sometimes read the ending before I finish a book. I usually look if the plot starts getting too intense.
Never. That is awful and it ruins the book. Why bother?
nope! never have, never will! i hate when people do that. it ruins the whole point of the book, if you read the ending first. you don't get attached to the characters, you don't know what's going on, and even if the ending is cliche, how do you know if maybe it fits the story perfectly?
Me personally, I used too. No longer do I do that. When I was in the eighth grade I had to read a Million words. Doesn't sound much, but I was actually one of the 30 at most of the whole eighth grade. So to make sure I was reading a good book I would do that. I read big, and I mean big books. Like 900 nine hundred to one thousand pages. All fantasy, so it kept my interest. I read all the Eragon series. The bartimist trilogy((didn't get to the last one wasn't out yet, and I'm not positive I spelled it right.)) Now I just read for enjoyment, and read it all through.
I NEVER read the ending, even if i'm curious.
I read from beginning to end. I don't want to spoil the book by finding out if they get together, or if someone dies. I'd rather just find out myself. BUT, I do have a friend which reads the last 1-2 pages of a book, to find it out if she would like to read it, or just drop it. |
