Deckle shook her head at their antics before looking at Devin. It was nice, despite being a flirt, he was keeping his hands to himself. She liked that. Although, he did look like he'd be fun to lean on. Poking his shoulder and feeling it lightly, she grinned, announcing her verdict. "Hum, you seem like you'd make a comfy pillow. Any objections to me trying?" she made sure to stay in a lighthearted, joking mood, just in case he was oppossed. Didn't want to make things akward.
Tatiana nodded. "True. Deckle isn't mean, she just doesn'y tolerate fools or jerks or people who have no courtesy and brains. Only if you push her will she slug you in the face." Tatiana explained. "But yes, while I tend to let things develop naturally, sometimes a little push can't hurt, so feel free to teach me." As she turned to smile at Keegan, she, being the smart and perceptive one, chuckled. "You know, I don't think boys have cooties. Relax, I'll let you know if I feel uncomfortable, and if for some reason you ignored me, I can take care of myself. Even if I couldn't, Deckle will lend a hand if I ever needed it." Samara brushed herself off, looking down apologetically at James before answering. "Yuppers!" she chimed happily, not wanting him to look so worried or bummed. "I'm ok. So um, I guess all the seats are taken....may I sit here?" Ankles together, she swayed slightly side to side, never actually completely still for even five seconds. She was always fidgeting, moving, tapping, swaying, or otheriwise in motion. |
It surprised Devin to feel his shoulder being touched by Deckle. Couldn't help but raise his eyebrow in speculation. "I would be glad to be your pillow. I hope I don't disappoint." Devin said smiling at Deckle in the same joking manner though on the inside he was practically screaming for joy. Would never deny Deckle the chance to lean against him, if he did he would surly be breaking his playboy image. Can't get a girl if you don't let her close.
"I would prefer not getting slugged in the face and I'll teach you as best I can. It is more based of opportunities. Timing is everything." Keegan said with a laugh smiling at Tatiana, a very happy and loose guy. Then with her comment he slid his arm around her shoulders in a casual way. Leaving it up to her if she wanted to lean into him or stay where she was at. He was comfortable either way. "That is sad, I will make sure not to ignore you then. I don't want to see what Deckle does, as nice as she is an all, she isn't as sweet as you are." "You can sit there I don't mind." James said, curious as to why she was asking. He could careless about where she sat, though he preferred her next to him. On top of that he was more worried about the person on his other side. Corey was most likely on Keegan side. Hopefully it would scare Samara away. They guys just thought they were meant for each other and loved to move things along. |
Deckle grinned, leaning her head against his shoulder, and as she thought, it was rather comfortable and pleasant. "You won't, and aren't dissapointing. You tell me if you need to move or I make you uncomfortable then." she informed him, calm and cool as a cucumber, but inwardly doing a mental fist pump and cheering 'Oh yeah!'
Tatiana smiled brightly, feeling happy the boy was so comfortable with her. Heck, most people were comfortable with her because she was so easy going, accepting, and calm, never one to lose her temper. "Cool, makes sense. and...thank you for the compliment." she commented, leaning back so she felt his arm on her back and shoulders. She didn't lean her head on his shoulder like Deckle was currently doing to Devin though. Samara smiled, pleased by the answer. "Ok! Thankies." she chirped, sitting beside James and taking a handful of popcorn, munching the salty treat as she drummed the fingers of one hand on her knee, always moving. In truth, she was glad he said yes, he was the sweetest thusfar, and she felt comfortable sitting by him. Hummin softly, she turned her attention to the blonde, watching him in curiousity. "Sorry, I fidgit a lot, just a warning." "Oy? Where's the TV remote so we can get this party marathon started?" Asked Deckle, looking around. |
Devin gently put his arm along Deckle's body trying his best not to make it awkward. Was more comfortable for him, and probably her, his shoulder was able to relax. "Don't worry, I don't think you could make me uncomfortable." He said with a sly smirk. Being completely truthful, just left out key details that having her against him made his world come crashing down. They joy he felt was immense but like her he kept up the cool facade.
"Don't fall in love with me now. I'm a heart breaker." Keegan said with a little chuckle, grinning as Tatiana leaned back into his arm. But he was being honest, he was a heart breaker. No matter how playful or nice Keegan was, some how he was always breaking the ladies hearts. It was probably explained why he was so happy with how Tatiana wasn't running from him. James watched Samara and a slow smile came to his face. He found her fidgeting was amusing and he couldn't help but be glad she was okay with sitting next to him. But he was soon distracted when Corey was resting his head on his shoulder. Gently James rubbed his friends head getting his hand swatted away with a grumble. With a little laugh he turned to look back at Samara as she was saying sorry for something again. "Well, wanna have a thumb wrestling war then?" he said using it as an excuse to touch her. Devin pulled open on of the drawers under the coffee table and got the remote. "Here you go doll face." |
"Thanks handsome." Deckle chuckled, taking the remote and fumbling with it, letting the male adjust himself before leaning back into his shoulder, nice and cozy now against his body. Heck, she could get used to this. "Good to know. you comfy?" she asked, turning on the Tv and DVD player.
Tatiana smiled, chuckling until he commented on himself. Quirking a brow in confusion, she tilted her head in a question. "Oh?" she asked mildly, not showing any sign of anger or mistrust. "And why, prey tell, do you say that?" Samara meanwhile watched James and Corey with a smile, brought out of her spacyness with Jamses' sweet voice. At the game suggestion, she smiled, nodding enthusiasticaly. "Sure! Haven't done that in a while. I warn you, I have hitchhiker's thumb, so you're gonna hafta try!" |
"Anytime gorgeous" Devin said with his deep laugh as Deckle almost lost the remote. He sighed gently as her sweet scent assaulted his senses. "Very." He said in almost a mummer as he took in the warm of her body against his. It was going to be hard watching her go. Would really miss her and her cool air.
Keegan grinned more as Tatiana laughed, he liked making people happy. Then he face twisted into a look he got when he was thinking hard. Brows creased in and chewing on his tongue. "No girl has ever stayed with me for long. Always ends with a slap across the face or worse. I don't know it myself, but it seems I'm hard to please." He said with a laugh though it was true. Keegan was hard to please and he could be harsh at times. "Damn, I guess I'm at a disadvantage then." James said laughing and smiled at Samara's as he held out his hand. Was overjoyed that she said yes and now he would have something that would hopefully keep her attention for awhile. But James wasn't going to lose on purpose, didn't see the point, he was already at a lose with no hitchhiker's thumb. |
Deckle smiled, feeling her spine shiver slightly and her heart melt ever so slightly at the low hum and murmur of his voice. She decided she rather liked the sound, and as such smiled brighter, snuggling close and making herself comfortable. She was enjoying this a lot, but she kept cool. She knew what she'd be dreaming of tonight.
Tatiana watched in mild concern as the young man screwed up his face and went quiet for a moment, about to ask if she had upset him. As he spoke, she put a hand to her chin and nodded, contemplating the words. "Perhaps you are meeting bad girls? Perhaps, they just don't realize a relationship is mutual give and take and understanding?" Giggling, Samara found herself pleasantly surprised at how warm and nice his hand felt. He was not necesarily at a loss. If his hands were much bigger and his thumb was taller than hers when held up, he'd have the upper hand. Hitchhiker's thumb or not, it wouldn't matter if his thumb was taller, which..damn! it was. "Ready when you are." |
Devin couldn't help himself from wrapping his arms around Deckle. Would use her shivering as an excuse. When really he just wanted her close till the night ended. Her bright smile etched into his mind for future reference. Too keep himself from doing anything more that might displease the beauty in his arms, he let himself get distracted by the movie. However she stayed in the back of his mind, not like he could ignore her completely, not with how close he was. It seemed someone finally tamed the playboy in him, she was dangerous.
"Probably. Do you think it is cause of my irresistible looks?" Keegan said in a playful tone wanting to lighten the heavy mood around them. Preferred having a good time then talking about complicated things. His brain was on party mode. So he grinned at her, hoping that would get her to smile again. It was surprising to James how small Samara's hand was too his. He couldn't help but smile, it seemed he might have a chance. The game might turn out to be quite fun and he would go a little bit easy on her. He was a gentleman after all. When she said ready James started the countdown. "3, 2, 1, Go!" |
Although somewhat surprised and confused by the hold, Deckle made no move to remove Devin, instead snuggling closer and relaxing, smiling in content. Watching the movie and nibbling her popcorn, she idly wondered how she got so lucky to meet a guy as cool and charming as this, and have it be authentic not a sham used to get in a girls pants? A refreshing change to be sure.
Tatiana couldn't help but giggle, poking him in the shoulder and play whacking him without actually hitting the poor male. "Probably mr. dreamy. You're too much for the poor maiden's hearts!" she snickered, enjoying his company and how he could be so flexible in persona. It was kinda cool. Looking at the movie, she grinned, waiting for the moment Samara would bring out the casual actress in her. Samara was focused, giggling at the game. While she now had a disadvantage, being of small hands and distracted by how warm James was, she was still a strategist. For all her clumsiness, sporadic randomness, shy nature, and space shot moments, Samara was actually rather intelligent. She just needed to be in a situation calling for it, and people tended not to look for it. Of all her smarts, puzzles and strategy seemed to be her skilled traits, able to solve any puzzle in an hour tops. Thus, she would use strategy to win. Not that there was much strategy to a thumb war game, but still, she just had to dodge and avoid getting pinned until he relaxed his finger a moment for her to strike. Then, one of her most often quoted lines from the movie was about to come on, and Samara grinned, beginning just as the character parted his lips, her voice soon oerlapping with the pirate on screen. "I confess, it is my intention to commandeer one of these ships, pick up a crew in Tortuga, and raid, pillage, plunder, and otherwise pilfer my weazley black guts out." Tatiana laughed, even in the middle of a game, Samara would not miss a favorite or most fun to quote lines. Samara had great stage presence, and was in drama productions at school. For all her shyness, on stage, she was almost a different person. |
Devin was thrilled when Deckle snuggled into him and didn't slug him or something. All he wanted was to hold her in his arms and maybe get her phone number. If he got it he would be flying high. Would rather get to know Deckle before he took it any farther. There was something about her that he liked, a lot and he wanted to figure out what it was. Her looks were great, what he knew of her personality was amazing.
Keegan looked over at Tatiana shocked when she poked him. With a little smirk he poked her back in the side gentle. "Am I too much for your heart, madam?" He asked with a sultry voice tinged with humor. Till he got distracted by Samara's perfect line quote to the movie, he tried to hold back his laugh. The girls truly were interesting. James' brow was creased in concentration, seemed to be unable to catch her thumb. Just when he thought he got her she would avoid it. He was impressed. For once he actually had to think. Was the type to go with the flow, didn't like thinking. Which was the good thing about singing, it was all just his feelings. Like the reason behind the thumb wrestling war. He didn't want Samara saying sorry over being fidgety. There was nothing wrong with, he found it more along the lines of cute. To him it meant she would probably be great fun to hangout with, like she was now. That was till she quoted the movie. James was stunned, that was one rare talent. He had easily gotten distracted from the game. The quoting made it definite that she was fun to hang around. The quoting had gotten Corey's attention. Moving his head around he looked over at Samara with a raised eyebrow. "Nice!" He commented. Before wrapping his arms around James' waist to really distract him from the game they were playing and to get him to laugh. The singers sides were quite ticklish and it amused all the band members. His weakness was so cute to them. |
Deckle smiled, content and comfy in the company and leaning up against the strong, cool male beside her. Devin seemed like quite the facinating fellow, and she intended to find out what exactly it was that made him so intriguing.
Tatiana had smiled at the playful and sultry reply. How was this boy able to mix the two at the same time? quite a feat in her opinion. With naught but a smile, she grinned. "What do you think?" Samara blushed, the stares and the compliment making her feel slightly pink. Almost about to win, the male pinned her as she was distracted by the speaking, feeling her smaller thumb under his. For a second, they were still, and she looked as though she'd clam up and pout, a dissappointed expression. However, in a mrer 1 1/2 to 2 split seconds later, it vanished, leaving a cheshire cat grin. "You win!" she chirped, begiining to giggle for no fathomable reason, even to her. "Oh boy, we broke Samara.." grinned Tatiana. |
Devin just quietly held Deckle in his arms finally immersed into the film. He didn't want to ruin what he had going with her so far. Then he would lose all chances to get closer. The one thing he desired most was to get to know her.
Keegan acted like he was contemplating her question before he smiled. "I can't help but think I did. That gorgeous smile of yours wouldn't be showing if you disliked me. No would it?" He said with a little chuckle. For once he was actually thinking of a good reply. Usually said what came to mind. James was shocked to win, he thought Samara was going to beat him. For some reason he never took his thumb off Samara's as he looked at her blush, turn into a frown, and the into a grin. Oh, how he was so confused that he never thought of letting go of her hand. He turned to Tatiana worried. "How do you fix her then?!?" |
Deckle watched the movie in silence, comfy and content to be curled up and sharing body heat with the intriguing Devin, who was behaving very gentlemanly, a good thing in her eyes. To be honest, a small part of her worried she might mess up. She didn't want to seem like she'd give in too easy to his charms, but Devin was proving very hard to resist, his personality and attitude appealing to her.
"Probably not." Tatiana agreed, smiling brighter. "Although some would wonder if there was another reason I'm grinning. but you may perhaps be on the right track." she commented, cheerful and gentle in her eyes and demeanor. Looking over at James and a giggling Samara, Tatiana shrugged. "Not much, let her laugh it out or try to distract her with something." came her suggestion. Samara snickered, giggling and eyes shining with mirth, trying to hold a hand up and stop her laughs, ocassionally hiccupping as she held them in, making her groan and whimper a bit, as the hiccups she got were always the painful, 'feel like my ribs are breaking' kind. Every few moments she'd think she'd be done, only to find some small movement or noise set her off into chuckles and giggles, muffling them as best she could in her hands. |
Devin looked over at the predicament James was in and only chuckled. Kind of felt bad for him, but not really was to joyed that the girl he took a liking to seemed to have the same feelings. Could thank James for rubbing off his gentlemanly like actions onto him and the others. The less slaps, the better.
"It is like appearances, some like certain people, others not so much. However if I'm on the right track then I'll try to stay there." Keegan said with a gentle smile, really liking her gentle persona. Was able to relax around her without a worry. Unlike James who for once seemed to be worried to death over Samara's laughing. James listened to Tatiana's advice. At first he was going to let her laugh it out, but then she was hiccuping and looked as if she was in pain. So he decided on a distraction with one problem he couldn't think of one. Could pull a Devin and make a move on her. She seemed to calm down into silence when she was embarrassed. Going with it James gently caressed Samara's farthest cheek from him before planting a kiss on her other one. Oh, how he hoped it wouldn't back fire. |
Deckle looked over at Samara, wincing as she heard her hiccup. Poor thing always got the worst when it came to hiccups. Seeing James kiss her though, made her freeze, tense and ready to punch him where the sun don't shine if she felt uncomfortable with it.
Tatiana smiled, nodding in agrrement. "Yes, that seems like a good idea, to stay on a right track when you find it..and...oh..." She looked over, sensing a disturbance in the force. Samara was getting her first kiss, well, first side cheek kiss, ever, from a boy who wasn't a relative greetting and cooing over a child. "Well..I guess that's one way to do it..." The redhead froze, completely and utterly still like a deer in the headlights. Squeeking, she felt the blood drain from her face, only for all of her blood to shoot back up, cheeks burning red as a beet. Her hiccups and laughter ceased. So did her smile. She was not, as he might have feared, upset, just so stunned, so mind numbingly confused and shocked, that she just stared at him. All that came from her was a slight squeek, not even noticing another fun line to quote. |
Devin gently tightened his grip on Deckle when she tensed. "It is okay, he meant no harm and he seems just as embarrassed at her reaction." Devin said in a gentle voice trying to get her to relax again while laughing at James seeing as his face was a deep shade of red too.
Keegan was impressed by James' action, that was extremely unexpected. The most James did was kissing a ladies hand. "Seems as James is trying hard to stay on the right track... That was surprising. Our James is growing up." He laughed gently. How couldn't you when their reactions were pretty amusing, at least James' was, Samara was still just cute. James was scared when Samara's face paled, didn't want to know what Deckle would do to him... But to his surprise she just stared at him blushing so badly. It made his cheeks heat up. What had he done? Trying to say something nothing came out. He was really nervous with her look at him like that. He just kind of brought his hand to the back of his neck as the silence slowly became awkward and everyone was looking. The snickering in his ear from Corey didn't help either. |
Slowly, Deckle calmed down, reasoning it was just a cheek kiss, and Indeed, the singer seemed flustered as well. She'd let it pass. Snuggling back into Devin's hold, she relaxed, watching in curiousity to see what would happen.
Tatiana meanwhile, simply nodded, wondering how Samara would handle this...unexpected gesture. "They both are growing up it seems. Well..I guess that's one way ot stay on the track, though if he tried it on Deckle, he'd lose a ball and an eye...." she giggled. Samara wondered why the handsome male was turning red. Had she upset him? No, he didn't look mad, kinda...surprised? Tentatively, she looked up at his eyes, flushing even brighter as she met his gaze. "Y-y-you..kissed me..." she mumbled, trying to sort it all out. So stunned was she, she didn't realize Tatiana snorted, beginning to giggle at her stating the opbvious. "I......" Samara blushed, biting her lip. |
Relaxing his hold as Deckle calmed down Devin smiled, glad she didn't attack James or move. It was more interesting to see what the two would do. If anything really did go wrong Devin would probably be over there himself. Preferred keeping things calm until the need was really there.
Keegan chuckled more at Tatiana's comment. Didn't think James had the guts to make a move on Deckle unlike Devin. So Samara was safe, seeing as James wasn't great in these kinds of things either. "I believe James is too afraid of doing that to Deckle even if he tried. We would hold him back anyway, need his pretty face to stay unharmed." James rubbed his hand through his hair as his blush grew too. Looking back into her eyes, James took in a sharp breath at her statement. "I'm sorry.... Your hiccups seemed to hurt..." He struggled to explain himself. Saying he did it to distract her would be weird. He wasn't going to take Devin's skills over again. They were dangerous. |
Deckle sat still, watching intently as she relaxed against Devin. So far, Samara didn't seem sad, angry, or hurt, so James was in no danger of her wrath thusfar. Good, Deckle didn't like causing scenes, contrary to what one might think. She just would react if pushed to.
Tatiana still snickered at Samara stating the obvious, nodding as her giggles increased at Keegan's comments. "Good thing, and yes, probably wouldn't want your stage presence messed up." Samara began to worry. He seemed scared and like he was upset. Looking into his pretty blue eyes, she squeeked, finding her voice once more in order to speak. "W-why are you sorry? I..I..D-don't..understand....what do hiccups have to do with k-kissing?" she shifted, biting her lower lip and looking so shy and confused it made Deckle shake her head and Tatiana snicker. |
Devin was watching in amusement as James dug himself into a hole. No matter how much of a gentleman he was, just wasn't good with the ladies when they became more then just fans or acquaintances. Even though he was rather on the good looking side he was the one who dated the least out of all of them. Maybe once or twice from what they heard. Long term relationships too. Unlike the others they were lucky if it lasted a year at least.
"Would just have come up with some fancy story. Don't think getting beat up by a girl would make our appeal go up." Keegan enjoyed hearing Tatiana's giggles, lightened the mood of what was going on. Corey chimed in as James started stammering and nothing was coherent was going out. "He did it to distract you cutey and thinks he did something wrong. As surprising as it is he isn't that great with these kinds of things." James let out a sigh like something was lifted off his shoulders, thankful Corey explained the situation. As he too looked at Samara with shyness and some regret. Still had no idea if Samara disapproved of his action or not. |
Deckle quirked a brow, wondering what was going through Samara and James' heads. Deciding it didn't matter, she yawned, curling up with Devin. "Are you the biggest gentleman here? Seems so."
"Probably not, but if they did see Deckle and how she is, they might not hold it against you." Tatiana commented with a shrug. Keegan was fun to chat with. Samara blinked, looking from Corey to James in confusion, innoccent perplexity on her features. "Distract me from what?" "Hiccups! Hiccups and giggle spasm fit." Informed her best friend, looking on in amusement as oppossed to the majority of concern. "Oh." Samara mumrured before realization hit. "Oh! Um..t-thank you..but..I'm not that hard to distract..I do have a attention span of a ferret sometimes!" she chimed, blushing as she looked at James. "T-thank you though...um..here!" before she could shy away, the red haired female kissed his cheek, blushing 5 dhades of red. "Payback kiss!" she declared, snuggling into the couch. |
Devin grinned slightly as he rested his head against Deckle's. "Second. James has me beat if he is actually trying. As surprising as that is." Gently he rubbed his hand through Deckle's soft hair unable to keep himself from touching it and making her as comfortable as possible.
"You got a point there, but chances of that happening are slim. So makeup and a hat would be the next best thing." Keegan was enjoying their conversation. Corey grinned as James is mouth was left open in shock. Neither them expected Samara to do that. "N-n-no need for thanks." James chocked out. He was officially on cloud nine, he couldn't help but look at Corey and smile leaning back on the couch in satisfaction. It was a good time to watch the movie now. It would help his blush fade and to calm down. Luckily Corey didn't feel up to ruining James' moment of joy, yet and just went back to using the male as a pillow. |
Deckle shook her head and arched her brow, giving him a look of polite disbelief. "I doubt that, but I'll take your word for it I suppose." reasoned the female, quite liking the attention she was getting from him. Sighing in content, she turned back to the movie, watching the pirates at sea, talking about how Jack had escaped the island, the story way.
"Whatever works I guess. Sure would make for an interesting story." Tatiana grinned, enjoying her laid back conversation. She was only half paying attention to Samara now, although she was stunned at her kiss. Smiling, Samara nibbled at some popcorn, staring at the screen to rid herself of her flushed face and stuttering speech pattern, ocassionally unable to keep from looking at James. He was nice, and seemed..shy as well? It was cute to her. Leaning back, she watched the movie happily, opcassionally looking or reaching in to get pocorn, passing him he bowl if he looked like he would like some. |
Devin only smiled at Deckle with a light chuckle. "Thank you Deckle." He said in a soft murmurer, liking the sound of her name for some old reason. With a content sigh he watched the movie, glad that she would be staying pretty late and the movie wasn't that close to ending.
"Definitely. A few pictures would be needed too. Documentation is a must." Keegan spoke in a soft tone as he became more comfortable with talking and was slightly distracted by the movie. Only thing that got his attention was Tatiana's voice. It was hard to believe with they way James acted, but he was on the shy side. Fans were a different thing for him. Just had a routine in his head on how to act around them. So what happened was quite a step out for him and he was glad how Samara went back to her old self. Gladly he accepted the popcorn when it was offered to him along with Corey as they watched the movie. James felt as though he could get use to this, it was nice. |
Deckle smiled, about to relax when her phone rang, looking at the number, she fairly growled, ignoring it. Samara and Tatiana knew better than to ask.
Watching the movie with Keegan by her side, Tatiana nodded. "Of course, we couldn't let such a sight be hidden from the curious masses now could we? No no, share the fun and the insanity." Samara sat beside James, only the popcorn bowl separating their bodies as she watched in amusement and content, still faintly pink, in her cheeks, her blush refusing to leave completely. Eventually, it was time for the next movie, "Monty Python: Quest for the Holy Grail." As the others shuffled about and readied the next disk, putting away the pirate movie so it might be safe and unblemished and useable, Samara began to shiver, sensitive to the cold. She had forgotten her sweater, and she felt bad asking someone, thus she kept quiet, trying to cuddle and sink into the couch. |
