The holiday party was going ever so well. All her friends and family were there, smiles adorning their cheerful faces. Yes, this was the year she was going to accomplish her goal: To give a kiss to a special friend as he stood under the mistletoe. Each previous year, this very plan was foiled. Either by the pesky cold that would prevent her from joining in the fun of the holidays or a certain bare-bottomed duo that teased her mercilessly as she stalked the carefully hung mistletoe. Not that they ever rightfully guessed who her target was. He was the one they least expected.

"Merry Christmas, everyone!" She greeted Nalin and Abel as they walked in. In their hands was a few small trinkets for her to place under the glowing, heavily decorated Christmas tree. Mr. Mayor always commented on how "full" it looked. She knew it was his ever-so polite way of saying it looked like it would fall over at any time. After showing them the way to the parlor, she glanced over at the mistletoe. Her heart skipped a beat to see that he was there. It was almost as if he was waiting for her to come over and plant a kiss on him.

Which is what she did. Ignoring the two guests who just arrived or those around her, the girl made a beeline to the doorway. Kneeling down on her knees, her soft pink lips graced the top of his head. From behind her, Peeblo and AfroDonkey sang off-key, "We saw Cessy kissing Yumeh underneath the mistletoe!" But she didn't care. Cessy finally got to give her special friend a kiss.
