Yep. And just think... The rumor is that the PS4 will be coming out next year.

I'm so not looking forward to that. :(

PS3 has been out for 7-8 years now.
The system will last depending on where you place it. It needs to be in an empty space. You can't shove it in a cabinet and expect it to be fine! That's what happened with me first one. The HD died from over heat and YLOD'd on me.

My second one is sitting on a table, with a lot of space near it. I learned my lesson.

If the PS4 does come out next year, or the following year, I'm going to wait and see if it's worth the purchase. If it does BC, it'll be a step towards the system. If not... well, I'll probably wait for a while.

That would be said if it does not do BC... Because BC is awesome xD

Mines in a cupboard :P It's fine, but when I use it the door is open and I drilled holes in the back for wires to go though and for added ventilation :)

How important would you say ventilation is?

Very. The fans on the PS3 (fat) aren't great :/ I had to by a fan extender (had bigger fans) and it still didn't keep cool, if possible just keep it in the open.

Do you think limiting the amount of time you play at time helps?

No. If the area has poor ventilation, it doesn't matter how long you play-the system will overheat.

It's best to keep it on a flat surface, like a side table and make sure there aren't any other things blocking the system sucking in air to cool down.

Also, be sure to invest in canned air to blow the dust out. We dust ours out like once a week otherwise, it would overheat.

mine has to stand vertically in our cupboard... I should dust it soon :/

I was tempted to snag the golden PS3 controller at GameStop for $34.99 (USD). But... I was too tired to bother getting ready to go. Once I have my PJs on, I don't bother going out!

So, I'll go today and see what I can purchase. Maybe a used game or two?

I need some new games... any recomndations? Region 2 games preferably :)

You play GT5 Senpai? I play GT5! We should play together some time! :)

I like it, since it has a bunch of Sega Genesis games, plus some to unlock. It's good if you want to get something cheap, but have a lot of games to play right away.

The PS Vita has been a massive corporate fail. I read something in Forbes about it, in the opening week it only sold 4,000 units, the PSP on the same week 8 years ago, sold 12,000 units. Yes it's clever but it hasn't really taken a massive hold on the market, the 3DS and 3DS XL are selling like hot cakes all the time, and also the PS3 is ageing horribly but hopefully the PS4 (Orbis) will hopefully reignite the PlayStation brand.

I have a psp 1000 and love it... then again I wouldn't want to change it

I had a 1001 (US Spec) then I went to a 3002 (EU Spec) after 5-7 years with my 1001 it lost the cap to the joy stick, not sure how though :/

I still have my PSP (it's a 3000 model) and I did own a Vita at one time. It was one of those first ones bought. xD Wound up selling it because money got tight. I liked it, still do as I plan on getting another one. I can see why it doesn't have the appeal that Sony wants it to have but I think a price drop and more big name titles could fix that.

Also, I wish they had it be like the PS3 in being able to switch PSN (or SEN) accounts instead of tying the Vita to one account.
