@ Gemini: I think Wolf's Rain is pretty well beloved. I know Yoko Kanno did the music, so that's something in it's favour.

I heard of Wolf Rain, the reviews were pretty good.

Nope. It's about a bunch of people who get trapped in an MMO and have to beat the game to get out. It's really good.

I'm not sure about a light novel. I've only seen the anime and I'm pretty sure there's no manga yet.
