ah lol

zigbigadorlube 10-06-2014 02:47 PM

I thought that if no one else used the Kindle app that maybe I could bum it off of you. >.>

Kirin Rosenbaum 10-06-2014 04:20 PM

I have one person in line first. But you should buy it. It's awesome.

zigbigadorlube 10-06-2014 06:06 PM

Alright, that's fine.

Cora 10-06-2014 06:27 PM

I read the sample, now to try and see about converting this file Cloud gave me [:O]

Kirin Rosenbaum 10-06-2014 07:11 PM

It's well worth the money.

Knerd 10-10-2014 03:15 PM

Just finished the book today!

I'll have to jot down most of my thoughts so that I don't forget them come November. [lol]

Kirin Rosenbaum 10-10-2014 06:48 PM

Well if there are any questions you would like to discuss in November let me know. My one question is did you like it? I can't wait for the third and last book to become available.

Knerd 10-11-2014 08:30 PM

Ehhhhh..... [sweat]

I know that a lot of people love this book, so I certainly won't trash it or smack talk before the actual discussion begins, but I'm not a fan. I might have felt differently if I'd actually read this as a kid, though, because children's books are never quite as magical if you first read them as an adult.

But I'm writing down my thoughts and saving certain passages so that I can talk about all of it with you folks. Maybe you can help me see the light. [yes]

Although I do have one question! Who eats chocolate cookies and orange juice together?! Like, is this an actual thing? Do people really dip their cookies in orange juice? Or is this just as crazy as it seems to me?

You guys are insanely silly.

I downloaded the sample to my kindle so I can start reading until I get funds [:O]

Have you checked online on the online library to see if your library carries a digital version of the book you could borrow... That is how here lately I have been reading books. can download them straight to my ipad and then "return" it when I'm done.

Oh... I will probably wait until later on the month to read this... Not sure why but I just don't feel like reading right now. :(

Kirin Rosenbaum 10-11-2014 09:12 PM

No idea, though I love the flavors of chocolate and orange together. I guess I am a big kid at heart, as this book was amazingly magical for me. Well PM me if there are any specific things you want to discuss.

That does sound a little strange... I mean, I can see chocolate covered oranges/orange peels, but that is a first for me. :/

In WV it is called WV reads, but you have a have the WV library card and you can only register at the county libraries in which you have cards(I think. I think I have tried to borrow a book from another county online and it wouldn't let me.)

Anyway, I am sure if you look up (state name) ebook library, I am sure you could find one. The one in my state just uses your regular library card when you register.

The Chocolate cookies and Orange Juice may be a British thing, as both of the authors are from Scotland (well they were born and lived in Scotland for quite awhile [yes] and do still consider themselves Scottish). So that could be why it's strange? Just throwing that out there as a possibility. [yes]

Kirin Rosenbaum 10-12-2014 02:31 AM

Yeah that could be. Though I would happily eat a chocolate cookie with orange juice.

CloudDreamer 10-12-2014 02:48 AM

I feel like it may be - but who knows. Could also be a family quirk of theirs? Or something.

I'm sure I'd like it, if I could have OJ. I love the stuff, but it makes me feel sick. :(

Kirin Rosenbaum 10-12-2014 03:38 AM

It's probably the acid in it.

CloudDreamer 10-12-2014 04:32 AM

Mmmm, I don't think so. It's more the taste of it that makes me feel sick. Orange scents/taste make me feel sick. And give me headaches. It's not the acid.

Knerd 10-12-2014 04:02 PM

I can understand chocolate covered oranges, that sounds good. But orange juice is just so strong and overpowering, I can't imagine that mixing it with chocolate or cookies would taste good! It sounds like a perfect stomach ache to me.

Hmm, who here on Mene is Scottish? I need regional answers!

zigbigadorlube 10-13-2014 02:08 PM

Chocolate and orange juice??? Definitely a no for me. I can totally imagine the sour icky face I would make after eating/drinking those things together.

Kirin Rosenbaum 10-13-2014 08:45 PM

Zig are you going to read the book and join in in the discussion?

zigbigadorlube 10-13-2014 09:16 PM

I'm planning on it but I'm going to wait till the end of the month to read it so I don't forget everything in the meantime.

Kirin Rosenbaum 10-13-2014 09:20 PM

I am going to reread it in a week or two.

Kirin Rosenbaum 10-22-2014 03:22 PM

How is the reading of the book coming? Little over a week to go before we discuss it. I already have the book for December picked out if anybody is interested in trying to find it now.

zigbigadorlube 10-23-2014 02:19 AM

Ah yeah, crap, still haven't bought this. >.>
