The Vargulf was content to stay in his lean to. Hoping the others would leave, or at the very least, not bother him. He was so very uncertain of them, and still uncertain of Alryn and the girl, Spirit. He shifted slightly in his den, taking in a deep breath and trying to collect his thoughts. A hand ran through his long hair for a moment, a thoughtful look on his face, but instinct more than human or elven thought drove him. He had been an elf once, but now his mind was full of instinct, not much thought, and he really couldn't remember what it had been like before he became this way. Slowly he crept to the entrance of his den, and laid there. So he could keep his eyes on the others. Excitement seemed to roll of the new female in waves, he shifted slightly, body tense. That excitement made him nervous, the other male was less excited, it didn't really matter though, the Vargulf didn't trust either of them at all. That warning look was in his eyes, warning for them to stay away from him.
|
Alryn nodded his understanding. He'd never dealt with werewolves before, not like this. It stood to reason that he hadn't recognized the signs. Well, he would remember to be more careful around the red head. "Thank you for explaining. I had no idea."
A sweet, pipping voice made his smile brighten and widen. He almost wanted to shed his male form to go and greet the happy looking girl. That wouldn't do though. Alryn didn't know how the others would react to a change in his appearance, least of all the werewolf, who was already uncertain enough around him as it was."Of course you can, I don't mind at all! Why don't you come and sit down?" They almost seemed like a pack, a pack with one alpha and others who hadn't yet been assigned their roles. It was intriguing, but after hearing the woman's words he thought he understood. The werewolf was so wild, it could be that the man was the thing he'd been sent into the forest to calm, or to kill. Lynae had been trying to figure out what to do in order to calm such a wild beast, but it seemed someone had already come up with the solution. His green eyes hardened a little at the thought of being one upped by anyone. He prided himself on being the best ... But if this worked, then so be it. It would mean less blood on his hands. They were scared enough as things stood, though most came from wild things he'd tried to reason with, or raised. Hearing the invitation for his most recent charge to join the group, Lynae's features hardened, but he said nothing. They needed to stay, and it would probably do Viola good to spend some time with people other then himself. |

That certainly explained a lot. It was food for thought. "So what brings you here?" He turned his golden eyes to the young woman. She could be trusted ... It seemed like that to Alryn anyway. No one could really fake such an open and innocent smile. Maybe he would show her.
Without realizing it, he changed the color of his long locks. His hair went from silky smooth amethyst, to curly pink ringlets which cascaded down his back. When Alryn realized what had happened, he blushed furiously and reached up to tug at his hair. That happened sometimes, and it could be so darn annoying ... The dark haired man slipped through the camp. He sent a smile Viola's way to reassure her that yes, he was going to go and join her, but first he had to do something. Lynae moved to crouch down before the werewolf's den. He didn't reach in, didn't make any movement towards the being lying within. He simply sat just outside the entrance, and waited, hands loose against his knees and in a relaxed, non threatening posture. |

"I'm sorry... I probably shouldn't have done that huh?" She asked with her own embarrassment, letting go of him and leaning back to where she'd been sitting. She blushed faintly in embarrassment that she'd gotten carried away... again... and glanced towards Ly. She only then realized that the werewolf may be who he was looking for, not always instantly connecting things like that. That would be sad.... the red haired man seemed so scared. She hoped it would all be alright. |
Spirit took a sandwich and started eating it happily. She was just finishing it when two new people appeared. One serious looking man,and one very bubbly girl.Spirit, still stark naked, looked them over quietly."Hello.I am Spirit." She said, keeping a close eye on the man.He was awfully close to the Vargulf.
|
He was very content to let the others converse with one another while he listened from what he had deemed his safe den. His territory. The whole camp wasn't his, neither was the woods, but at least this small space was. It was completely his. When the stranger crouched infront of his den, that head snapped up immediately, eyes narrowing a bit and his body tensed. He waited for the other to try to come closer, to try and enter, but the male didn't. He just sat there. The Vargulf watched him cautiously, but the posture of the other was non threatening, still he didn't trust him.
However that patient, relaxed body made the Vargulf relax just a little. Still tense enough to move quickly, but so far it didn't seem like the other was trying to invade, in fact, it seemed more like he was waiting for an invitation. The Vargulf would give no such invitation, this den was his. It was his only one, so no one was allowed in, but the alpha. The alpha could do whatever she pleased, because she was the leader. His eyes didn't leave the other, and finally after minutes of watching, the Vargulf sighed softly. "My den." His tone was possessive and matter of factual, just to make sure that man knew this was the Vargulf's. Still, Rea hadn't attacked him or warned him away so perhaps these strangers wouldn't be so bad, he was uncertain though. So very uncertain. A light shiver ran down his spine as he tried to think of how to properly act, but all he could come up with was to watch and attack if the man tried to come in without permission. None of the others were acting the way he was, not even the female, Spirit, whom he assumed was just a werewolf. Did that mean his actions were wrong? They couldn't be, the alpha would reprimand him if they were, wouldn't she? It was so confusing, hard to push away instinct and try and think properly. Was he even thinking properly? The Vargulf shook his head, a soft whine escaped his lips, but those eyes never left the man outside his den. |
Lynae's features remained impassive as the silence surrounding them was broken. The few words, the wary actions, of the red head only served to bring forth more questions in his mind. This man, we he the one responsible for the deaths in this area? If so ... then it probably had been through no fault of his.
Very slowly, Lynae lifted a callused hand and moved it to the very edge of the lean to's exterior. Not a finger lay within the werewolf's little territory, but all it would take was a simple twitch. He hoped the silent invitation to smell his scent, to take in who he was in a way, came through well enough. He was treating the man much like he did the wild creatures he could speak with. It seemed fitting, under the circumstances. The pink haired man froze when he felt fingers playing lightly with his hair. She hadn't reacted the way he'd expected, no one had. They just took in his change as if it were normal. Alryn noticed almost absentmindedly Spirit's nakedness. He would go fetch clothing for her soon, but for the moment Viola's reaction had him reeling far too much to even think of leaving. "You really liked it?" Some liked it too much, it was why he hid so ... Alryn didn't think Vivi was like that though, she was too childlike for any such thoughts to cross her mind. He smiled a little bit, and purposefully changed his features so they were more feminine, delicate. Alryn lifted a hand to readjust the leather across her chest. It had gotten a bit tighter with her change, but since she hadn't decided to give herself too much cleavage, it was no real problem. Her voice was softer now, smooth as velvet."Don't worry Vi. That's about the nicest reaction I've gotten in a long while." A bright smile bloomed across Alryn's rose tinted lips as she regarded the other woman. No matter what shape she chose, she was always herself. It had always been like that, well not always ... But ever since her parents had taught her how to anchor her self not in gender, in appearance, but in personality, in values and thoughts, she'd never been mixed up again. |

"I think i'd have fun making clothes for you." |
Spirit looked up."Cold....? I suppose so." She said absently, taking the sandwiches. She noticed the other's reaction to her nudity, and wondered why it was like that."Have I done something wrong? Why is everyone turning away?" She asked. So long away from humanity,or any form of life, had made her completely unaware of how people were supposed to act.

The Vargulf's posture shifted ever so slightly when that man moved a hand towards the entrance of his den. It was a very subtle shift, one that would probably go unnoticed by the untrained eye, but his shoulders had moved slightly, better prepared to pounce at a moments notice. Those eyes not leaving Lynae for a moment and a very soft warning growl left his throat. Still the man seemed so relaxed, that was probably the only reason the Vargulf didn't pounce on him. Still, he was so close, so uncomfortably close to the Vargulf's territory. That body shifted again, a more noticeable twitching of the shoulders and tensing of other muscles.
Slowly, the Vargulf crept towards the man, warning look in his eyes and then he was there, within touching distance of the other and he sat. That body still tense for a pounce, but he sat there at the very edge of his little territory and watched. An air of tense, unwary patience about him, those eyes full of uncertainty never once leaving the could be threat that was Lynae. |
Lynae smiled slightly as the wolf man approached, a nearly imperceptible quirk of the lips. He only glanced once at the woman who'd come to observe the nearly silent conversation, for it was that. Having an audience for this kind of thing didn't sit quite right for him, not unless it was Vivi. This other woman, she felt like a half tame wild thing, and sometimes they were more dangerous then the truly wild ones. They were so much more unpredictable.
But that wasn't what Lynae needed to focus on then. Instead, he lifted his hand slowly again, and let if hang suspended in the air, just resting halfway across the invisible line that was the Vargulf's territory. "Smell," said the man softly,in a calm kind of tone. If this man was anything like a wild dog, then this might work. If not ... Lynae would deal with it, or that woman would jump in. Again, that didn't sit right, but more because of his protective instincts then any dislike of interference. Alryn laughed lightly at what both other women said. "Well then, I'd be flattered Vi, but maybe we should take care of Spirit's plight first." She turned to offer the nude girl a smile as she stood, brushing off her long skirt. Luckily she did have extra clothing in her little hideaway, or one of them at least. Cautious, in this at least, Alryn had made sure to create more then one little home in the forest. "You could both come with me, and we could pick some clothes out, or I can go and grab a selection be back as quick as you can catch a fish!" Which, to be honest, might very well take a while. |

Her mismatched eyes continued to glow beneath her hood, neither watching him as an animal or a human but something in-between. She could sense Ly's tension at her presence, observing it in the tiniest tension, but she was use to that. Most living things were naturally tense around her, able to sense there was just something not quite right. Only the forests themselves seemed to really trust her, or understand her.... and Rea was perfectly happy that way. She yawned softly as those strange eyes switched to Red. Quote:
"I don't mind going, which would be easier?" She asked simply, instantly cheered and relaxed. She wasn't so sure if Ly would like her going she realized after she said it. She blinked and glanced towards her gaurdian, unsure what he'd say. He didn't seem to notice though so it had to be alright......r ight? |
Spirit tilted her head and swallowed the last of the sandwiches."Embarrassing? Well, okay. Then I will go with you and get clothes." She said, simply accepting the fact that regular people wore clothes. If that was what normal people did, then so be it.She wanted to be like normal people."It is somewhat cold."
|
A light growl left the Vargulf's throat, those narrowed eyes not leaving the strange man. When the other lifted his hand, the Vargulf ducked his head ever so slightly, the muscles in his shoulders and back shifting slightly. Ready to pounce at the drop of a hair, he watched that hand as it was lifted and hung in the air. Those eyes darting to stare at the man's face before shifting back to watch that hand as it rested in the air. Though the man spoke the word in a calm tone, to the Vargulf it seemed more like a gentle command than a soft suggestion. He snorted lightly, turning his head away ever so slightly so that he could still watch the man. The Vargulf would take the man's scent when he was ready to, before then the man would just have to wait. He growled slightly louder than before, a warning for the man to come no closer, he would approach the man when he was ready, not when the man was ready for him to. Though he was a little curious as to why this man didn't just leave him alone, he said nothing, merely watched and gave warning growls as he thought necessary.
|
The quiet man shrugged, and struggled not to let his lips twitch up in a tiny smile. Most people would have been entirely put off by the growling, but Lynae simply shifted about so his back was turned to the wolf man. The move could be considered insulting, he supposed, like the other man's threats simply weren't enough for him to be bothered with.
It wasn't exactly the impression he wanted to give, but it was close enough. His eyes shifted to Vivi, then to the woman sitting on the rock. "So, he sees you as the pack leader, does he?" Could she have taken advantage of the man's transformation and confusion to set him upon nearby villagers? It was another possibility. Alryn smiled genially and motioned for the other two women to follow her. "Well then, I suppose we should get going." As they began walking towards the cave, the pink haired woman began running through a menal inventory of her clothing. "What kind of clothes do you like Spirit, and you Vivi?" She might as well give a little something to both girls, since they were going to get clothing anyway. Besides, Alryn was getting too much of a collection. |

A soft smirk briefly touched her lips as she wondered what. He had sensed her dominance, did he think she was controlling the wolf she just met? It would not be unusual to have a natural, uneasy suspicion of her even for a normal human and one with beast sense like Ly may be even more sensitive to such a thing. She had little desire to explain unless asked, however, just what her reasons were and instead lazily glanced over at Red. She wondered how long he would be so stubborn with the other male but had no intention of forcing Red to do anything. Sure, she'd keep him from killing or doing something stupid but that was all. So she perched on her rock, her knees bent and her arms casually flung over them. An easy position to pounce from and comfortable too. Quote:
|
The Vargulf snarled lightly once again, those eyes narrowing dangerously when the man turned his back to him. It made the wolf in him want to pounce immediately, it seemed rather foolish for someone to turn their back to a wild wolf. He shook his head, shaking his hair about wildly for a moment and then he moved. The Vargulf rushed the man, but didn't pounce on him. No, he came only close enough to reach out and roughly shove the other over with an almost satisfied, almost triumphant look in his eyes. This man was a station or two lower than himself, at least in the Vargulf's opinion, to be so bold as to turn his back on the Vargulf was insulting. Almost a challenge as far as Red was concerned, and he was very confident that he could easily best that man in a fight. He had retreated back slightly right after shoving the other, a look in his eyes that practically dared the other male to challenge him again.
|
Alryn skipped forward when she noticed her cave with a smile. "I have plenty of things like that! And hopefully there's something in all those boxes that Spirit likes too." Surely there had to be something in the huge pile of clothing taking up a large corner of the cave.
"Have at it," said the woman with a grin. She waved the others closer to the pile, and then started pulling things out herself. Silks, jeweled transparent pieces of gauze, in all manners of colors, if you could imagine a piece of clothing, it was there. Her collection really was too big for one person alone. Well that had certainly gotten the other man's attention. Now to do something he hated, lie down and show himself weaker then he thought himself to be. Lynae shook his head, biting back a scowl and pushing down his will to continue the challenge he'd begun. The other man was a werewolf, a wild one, there was no way he could win. The tall man let out a long sigh as he lay his body down upon the rough forest floor and rolled upon his back to peer up at the redhead with annoyance in his green eyes. This had better work. Lynae did not like this, not one bit, and didn't want to suffer this kind of humiliation any longer then necessary. |
That was good, the man seemed to know his place. It might be a trick, but the Vargulf was only suspicious for a few moments, the annoyance at being dominated shown clearly in the other's eyes, but he knew there was no trickery there. Or perhaps he just assumed. The wolf in him urged him to move forward and put his teeth on the other's neck just to further prove his point. Something else inside of him weakly pleaded that he not do that, giving in to the beast even a little made it a lot stronger.
The Vargulf seemed uncertain as the two sides warred within him, then slowly he moved in a crouch towards the other man. He had yet to decide what to do, until he reached the other. The Vargulf's lips drew back slightly and he lowered his head towards the man's throat, he butted his cheek against the other's cheek. A gentle acceptance of the man's submission, instead of wrapping his teeth around that throat. Slowly his hand crept forward, grabbing Lynae's forearm, Red stood and pulled the other with him to his feet. "...Stand.." Once they were both up, he let go of the other, gave him an almost smug look and practically sauntered with satisfaction towards Rea. |
Quote:
"It seems you've won, little wolf, but what shall you do with his submission now that you have it? A good wolf would give his protection and be aware of the pack's needs. What will you choose I wonder?" She asked in a rather teasing tone, the kind that left one wondering how serious she was. She seemed to also be rather amused even as she kept her arm around the red head's shoulders. She watched Ly, aware that Red's action may wound the male's pride and make him do something foolish. She would protect Red as equally as she would have protected Ly given the need. ((Ima wait on vivi until Spirit replies)) |
Lynae forced himself to remain as he was and stiffened his limbs. White teeth flashed in his face, making him flinch slightly, but soon he was being pulled up and told to stand. This ... was going to take some getting used to, right now all it did was annoy him. Especially that smug look sent his way.
To add insult to everything else, Rea was .. Well he couldn't quite describe it. All Lynae knew was that her behavior made him want to do nothing more then lash out at her, verbally that is, but he couldn't. Red saw her as the leader of everyone else, and after his show it would have been counter produtive to go against her, at least in the wild man's presence. |
The Vargulf kept his eyes on the other male, uncertain how he might react now that he was on his feet. Would there be trouble? It almost felt like there might, there was a small bit of tension in the air. He had nuzzled Rea gently when she put her arm around him, her words made him feel uncertain and lost. Instinct told him he should keep a careful eye on the other male for a few days, his pride was hurt and he might lash out. The Vargulf shrugged lightly. He was only half aware of his own needs, how could he also be aware of the pack's needs? He wasn't a leader, he was a fighter. He frowned deeply, looking at Rea's face. She was the leader. "I'm not...I'm not in charge....You are." He spoke the words uncertainly, glancing at the other male, all he had been doing was establishing his role in this pack. Rea was the leader, but he certainly saw himself as her second. Everyone else was below him, weaker than him and only Rea was stronger than him. That suited him just fine.

Lynae stepped forward, not to challenge, to listen a little better to the conversation. It almost sounded like the woman was trying to teach Red, about everything. The thought was an odd one, but apparently close enough to the truth.
"If you want to throw away what you just earned ... Be my guest." He didn't much like the situation anyway. Lynae would just challenge Red again and do his best to defeat the wolf man. Counter productive though, it would shatter the small steps he'd taken to gaining the man's trust. |
