Growing up my Halloween tick or treating time was always limited due to the fact that my mother's birthday is the day before Halloween, and my grandfather's birthday is on Halloween. So when I was able to go trick or treating it was usually very late, and very dark. This is important to know since the darkness can hide quite a few things. Including bodies. On my way up to the different houses there were the usual adults standing in the door way, and then came one particualrly creepy house. All the lights had turned red and the front yard was filled with graves. Beyond the graves sat a bench with a scarecrow slung over the seat with a bowl of candy in his lap and a little sign saying "Take only one, or else..." So on the promise of sweet sugary treasures I took a deep breath and walked across the lawn weaving in and out of the graves and numerous tombstones. About half way through the lawn there was a large grave that looked to be open, and when I wakled by it BAM! A hand shot out of the dark grave and grabbed my ankle! Shrieking I ran forward out of the ghoulish hands reach and when I stopped to catch my breath there was hysterical laughter coming from the grave. Taking a deep breath I walked forward a few paces to where the scarecrow sat. Seeing the candy renewed my spirit as I reached out to grab a piece. Then froze. Did that scarecrow just twitch his hand? No, couldn't have. Its just a Halloween decoration. Reaching forward again, I closed my fingers around a chocolate bar. 'Holy cow!' I thought, 'these are king sized candy bars! Jackpot!' Feeling much better about being scared I pulled the bar back towards me, when all of a sudden the scarecrow lurched forward and grabbed my wrist shouting "ONLY ONE! ONLY ONE!" I was so startled that I jumped back and shrieked while hysterical laughter filled the night. I ran out of that front yard as fast as my legs could take me, but I still had a king sized candy bar clutched in my fist.
So thats my little story about getting scared witless in my neighborhood as a kid. :sweat: I hope you enjoyed it. Oh, this is my mule I posted on, not sure if it matters, but my main account is Shadowfflur. :) |

I think she was refering to my story. :sweat: It really is terrifying when you are young. But looking back now it seemed a little silly. Hence the dramatic writing. :XD

Ok... Then, that time, it was the first time I've seens my parents dress up a little for halloween, and my dad had gotten an hold of some fake blood and those flesh colored glue you use for faking skin. He took that and gone to the bathroom to put the makeup on. When he got out he had this gross thing that looked like his nose was now bent and there was a toothpick sticking out from both side of his nose, the fake blood used to make it seems like the wound was bleeding. I was grossed out, and that one attempt is still brought up in our conversations from time to time.

Do you tell you all the one scene I've seen when I was little from an horror movie that scared me for a few years afterward? Or we are only supposed to tell halloween stories?
