I have them saved for each avatar. It is not very organized but at least I can go back to specific avatars and see what codes I used

that's kinda what I do too salvete. I take a screenshot of my avi / worn inventory and then write in the hair codes and sometimes eyes so I know what I did if I want to recreate. lol
