Shiloh listened to the others as they spoke. It was funny to watch how Balthazar and Batara reacted to eachother. Batara was a little confused about Balthazar wasnt making it much easier on her either. Shiloh sat up pushing the wing out of the way to grab the bowl Lyna handed her. She smelled the rabbit and just wanted to eat for the minute she had with the bowl. She started to eat the food from the bowl. "You guys better eat to keep up your strength"
"Thank you," Batara said to Lyna as she took the bowl of stew handed to her. Taking a bite she let out an almost releived sigh before saying, "Very good, both the stew and craftsmanship." She then looked at the black winged boy. The question probably would've come up at some point either way, but there was no running from this question if she wanted to stay with them. "I have killed before," she said not looking away from the boy. While eye contact was still seen as a threat or challenge to her kind, not looking at the person you were speaking to was not very respectful. "People that is, but they were attacking the pard. They were going for the young ones," she said as her mind drifted to that night.
It was peaceful, like it was just about any other night in the forest. Most of the hunters had gone out for the night to watch the territory and to get food for the night. Batara had to stay behind and take care of some of the wounded hunters. There had been sightings of werewolves in the area and they wanted the territory. "Lady Batara, Lady Batara," a breathless voice said as snapping branches alerted the girl to the male's presence. She looked at him, it was Antony, one of her hunting partners. He was beaten and bloody. She instantly went to make a move to him to help him, but he put a hand up. "The children," he paused, wincing in pain. "The children, they're in trouble. Wolves, they made way, for humans. They're in camp, gonna kill, children first. Go to them. I am fine." While Batara did not like the idea of leaving Antony to take care of himself, she knew he was capable and that someone needed to protect the kids. She quickly turned and ran towards where the huts with children were at. As she ran she transformed. She saw the hunts and dim lanterns bobbing just ahead. She lowered herself into a stalking position as she crept along the sides of the straw huts. She heard the rustling of one hut, where the front would be. Rather than going around, Batara used her massive head and parted the straw in the back of the hut to let herself in. The dark of the night kept her hidden for there was no moon that night. Her feline eyes allowed her to make out the shape of someone before her, the smell was not of her kind. Gripping the earth briefly, her mighty limbs launched her forward and onto the large male figure. Her loud snarl awoke the rest of the huts and she could tell from the sounds, parents were shifting to protect their kids. The large cat then looked at the male before her, he looked angry and had pulled a dagger out when she had roared. Without hesitation she sent her might jaws, white teeth bared, to crush his small head. Batara blinked to bring herself back to reality. "Other than that, it has just been more burtal hunting. My hunger must've been great this time for my other form to wish to attack you." She then went back to eating her stew. It would be their reaction to her answer that would determine whether or not she was truly welcome in the group. |
"Protecting ones family is better than what i had done." Lyna saidas she looked into her bowl of food sadly. "It was after i started to travel, a lone shifter came across me. He was trying to kill me. So i shifted into a panther as you were tonight." She said as she inclined her head towards Batara to let her know she looked seemular to her. "We fought, i had beat him. I didn't have to kill him but i did. I ate him, things are not ever as good as they seem. That Balthazar is why i prefur to ba a fox instead of anything else." Lyna said as she looked at everyone with a hard look on her face that she had pulled on, she stopped crying about it years ago, but it still got to her that the frist of her kind that she had meet, she had killed and ate. She ate her food in silience after that, anticapatting what was going to be said about what she had done.
Batara shook her head and said, "If you had not done it you may not be here today. He was trying to kill you so you acted in defense. You are not to know if he would have granted you the same mercy you wish you had given him." Her gaze had been on the girl now, she understood how she felt. Killing one of your own kind was not something to be proud of. Death never was. Batara believed this even though she grew up around it, even though she was going to have to fight for her life and control of the tribe.
"True, but when there is already so few of us, so killing them is something that wouldn't be a very good idea." Lyna said as she rinsed her bowl and spoon off and mashed them into a ball of clay, she tucked it back into her bag. She looked up at the stars, her face was didn't give away any emotion that she was feeling at the moment. She looked over at Batara and gave her a forced smile.
Batara finished off her stew and passed the bowl back to Lyna. "There are many things that we do that we are not proud of. I know of many weres that have died at the hands, claws or jaws of my pard. Both of our races are growing more rare as the days pass. But only the strongest survive. Remember that. Maybe this 'random travel' of yours may lead you to more of your kind or the possibility of growing it." That was also why Batara wasn't too worried about not winning. She may find others to help her grow her pard during these travels.

Balthazar stayed still standing up as shiloh sat up to eat the soup, in truth he wasnt very hungry instead he was thinking about what had happened when he hadd lost control. Screaming, so much screaming, that was all he could remember the eyes of the children as they ran from the burning thatched hut. Parents guarding children and eachother as they were all struck down a whole city in a night burnt by lightning practically. balthazar was in his own world going over it all he hadnt even realized he had picked up the soup and was eating it he was just stareing off into no where.

((Sorry guys i fell asleep after doing my hw... I was exhausted.... Though its bad that when i finally get an early sleep the fire alarm goes off at 316 in the morning... I know its bad that i looked. My roomate turned it off))
Shiloh looked curiously between the others. So she was now travelling with murderers... Interesting. At least they atone for their crimes by wishing they had done something else. It makes it better than just running away from home because your parents didnt really love you. They were just trying to survive while she had been selfish and ran away. She didnt want to farm so she put herself in the situation of danger so that she could fight it off. She started travelling. She had seem many burning towns on the way and helped mourning people get there loved ones out of these buildings alive so they wouldnt have to mourn but it wasnt the same. She seemed weaker than these people just because she had put herself in the danger instead of trying just to survive it. It sort of made her admire the others in a way for all that had happened to them. Idols maybe. Shiloh looked up at the standing Balthazar. He seemed so distant while the others talked about their killings. Was he trapped in a memory of his or just spacing? He then picked up a bowl and started eating from it. She finished up her stew and put the bowl down out of the way then stood up. "Balthazar? You ok?" It probably wasnt the best thing to do but she touched his shoulder. |
TRILL ------------ The grass felt could under her bare feet. There was barely a sound coming from most creatures in the area. Trill didn't think much of this. She had other issues that needed to be tended too. Her pink bangs were tucked behind her pale colored ears. She watched carefully. The absent sounds could mean some freaky creatures were stalking around. Not that would scare her very much. Lips moved softly to a song, A gypsy rover came over the hill Down through the valley so shady. He whistled and he sang 'til the green woods rang And he won the heart of a lady. She gathered her water at the stream as she sang the old ballad before turning to gather the things she placed at the tree. She needed to keep moving, spending too much time in one place was not a good thing. |
Balthazar was lost in his head, when shiloh touched his shoulder he dropped the bowl as it dropped in a clatter on the ground. Electricity flew to his left hand, the side with the wing, encasing the arm as it flowed from his hand to the tips of the feathers repeatedly. His eyes snapped up turning electic blue as he looked around trying to calm himself, instead he turned and ran, when he disappeared into the woods his wing had just covered fully into electricity. as he ran deeper he went back to the original clearing where he had first met shiloh, when he got there he tried to calm down but it wasnt helping, instead he just yelled. Lightning started to sprout from his other shoulder, slowly forming into the shape of another wing.
Shiloh got shocked by the electricity that came from him ad flew backwards a little shaking her hand in response. He started to look around as if something were wrong or he was trying to do something that she couldnt figure out. But why was he acting so weird and why was his lightning going haywire? She didnt have time to find out for he ran from them. "Ill be right back." This was the person she had feelings for though she couldnt figure out why. She had just met him. But she ran after him anyways. She followed until she got to the clearing they had met at. He was standing there with the same lightning turning into a wing on his other side. "Balthazar?" She spoke as if she were unsure of what was going on.
"Things are getting interesting....." Lyna said as she picked up the bowls, cleaning up everything, sticking the newly formed balls of clay back into her back. She picked up the clay figure she fell a sleep making the knight before and tucked away. she pulled out another small peace of clay and began to make Batara in her human and animal form. It was beginning to be a habit of hers, making clay figures of people she just met, or a figure for the person she met. She didn't know why she did it but just did, maybe it is because it lets her use her magic, who knows.
Balthazar turned around looking at at shiloh over his shoulder, his eyes staring at her, past her. His wing was slowly taking shape, the electricity forming a wing, as his arm and hand that was engulfed in elecrtricity seemed to deform almost into a clawed hand like form. "Shiloh... I-i-i-i-i-i told you im nothing but an beast," he then turned towards her his wing now fully formed, "they spoke of killing one or two people to defend themselves, i killed a whole village in this.... my true form." he said looking at her.
Batara's eyes quickly followed the black winged boy's movements and then he and Shiloh were gone. "Um, should we follow them?" She asked Lyna as she looked back to her. Her attention was then occupied with what the girl was doing. She was amazed at her talent, especially with what she was able to do with such a little amount of clay.
"They will be fine. I think that Shiloh can get to him better than we can consedering the fact she met him frist." Lyna said as she looked at the clay, then back at Batara, she wasn't trying to be mean or unfeeling, she just had a feeling that it was better to let them handle it together. Her head shot up when she thought she heard something, she then shooked it off, she looked back at the clay figure and felt satified with it, she held it out to Batara. "Here, it is for you." Lyna said as she handed her the clay figure, of her and her panther form, she hopped that she liked it.
Batara smiled softly, the figure reminded her of back home and when the children would give her gifts they had made. "Thank you," she said softly as she took in the detail. She didn't know how to portray her gratitude or how well crafted she thought the piece was without sounding like she was chiding a child.
She then looked back at Lyna and said, "Are you ok? You seem distracted a little while ago." Batara didn't let many things go unnoticed, it was just whether or not she voiced it. |
She watched him as his wing was completely formed. His hand and arm started to deform with electricity. He started studdering when he spoke. He called himself a monster. She walked closer to him slowly. "Your not a monster. Im here for you. Your here now and im here now. Youll be fine" She said getting closer to him with every word.
"It i just the woods had gone really quiet all of a sudden." Lyna said as she pulled another piece of clay out and started to play with it, it was habit for her now, she played with it, wondering why the creatures of the night went silent. She looked over at Batara and smiled trying to show her that it was fine but the silence was a warnning for them, animal instinct took over. She put the fire out and watched the woods silently.
Balthazar stared at shiloh as she stepped closer, "No... no... dont im a monster, do you see me this is not something that should exist." his eyes blazing he stared. slowly stepping back but keeping far enough away from the edge of the woods in case anything should happen. "Shiloh... look at me im just a monster, im even deformed." he said as he held up his right hand... "Look" he said his voice breaking to tears.
"If you were not meant to exist then how are you alive. How are you here? Am i meant to exist if someone as beautiful as you is not meant to. Dont you see? Your meant to exist as much as i am." Shiloh stepped even quicker towards as if she were almost running. Thats when she wouldnt let him get away. She didnt care if she got shocked she just hugged him to show that he was real.
Balthazar stared at her as she spoke is eyes iwidening with fright as she hugged him. "Shiloh..." he said with her arms around him, he knew it wasnt good, he could feel electricity trying to reach her, intead he directed it to the one wing, which grew in size as he directed all his energy to that wing. "Please....." he said as a charged tear fell to shilohs shoulder, he could feel the wing was way disproportoined now.
Batara looked out and into the woods, eyes wide. "Do you really think they are alright by themselves?" She asked as she casted a side glance at Lyna after she had put out the fire. The air felt charged and unsteady, she wasn't sure what they should do. Her instincts told her to shift and run, but these were people that allowed her the permission to travel with them and she was not going to leave if she could help.
((Haha, charge XD)) |
(( i haven't been to sleep yet  the reason i use Lyna alot is because it is easier than switching to another name lol i am going to bring in a new person))
"I sm not worried about them, they might have thier own killings that they didn't share. I am more worried about what is stalking out there." Lyna said as she got into a crouching position, turnning as she scanned, she pointted towards the woods and open fields when she said out there. She didn't like the silence it was killing her, she looked over at Batara and shiftted into a panther, she knew that atleast in this form she could understand her. |
Batara shifted, following Lyna's lead before sniffing the air. She didn't sense any danger, but if one of her companions did she would take it seriously. "What do you feel?" She said to Lyna, though to humans or people in human form it would sound more like a cackle, like when a domestic cat is watching birds outside. Her now large yellow eyes scanned the perimeter, she didn't see anything though.
"Him" was all she said, she knew it was him from the feel of the air. He had been following her since she killed his companion. She looked at Batara briefly before turning slowly in a circle, ending up facing the same way again when she stopped. She got low to the ground, ready to move in any direction if she had to.
Alzied ran towards the shifter who's scent he had picked up after two months of lossing it. The bear sized wolf ran fastter over the open plain, he stopped in his tracks when he saw the fire, the smell of her driftted towards him. He crouched low, he watched as she went on alert, putting the fire out, changing her shape quickly. He sniffed the air, panther alpha, he was in trouble. He just wantted to join her but she kept slipping away from him. He knew she couldn't see him, he was well hidden in the dark, far enough out of her hearing, and seeing range. Even if she could she him he would just look like one of the many boulders. |
